I apologize for the length of this post. It is a major breakthrough for me and there is some interesting info for those who are interested.

11/23
1st ever WILD attempt and success. I woke up at 4:30am then went back to bed at around 4:50. Tried usual OBE meditation but after having read a book at 4:30 my brain was too active and spontaneous, Also I kept getting restless leg syndrome (which is my worst enemy when it comes to OBE meditation). I decided to go to sleep and try to catch my consciousness right before I drift off to sleep. I realized that in my dreams, I often find myself running extremely fast on all four hands and legs. I suddenly catch myself doing this again and I hold on to this image of a cabin in the woods with a giant cliff in front of it. Below the cliff is a forest that extends for miles. I watch myself in 1st person running as fast as I can on all fours towards the edge of the cliff; I come to the realization that I am actually a bear. In my waking reality and dreams, I have a lot of fears and confidence issues however, upon coming to this realization I stand up tall on my hind legs, let out an earthshaking roar, and get this amazing feeling of confidence and fearlessness. Almost as if it were a message to me. once I get to the edge of the cliff I make a powerful leap into the air. At this point I feel heavy vibrations all over my body and without thinking about it, I snap in and I'm high in the air, above this beautiful forest, seeing it as clear as I see the computer screen right now. Amazed and excited that I am having my first ever successful LD, I realize that I can't get over excited because it will shut down the LD (Robert Waggoner-Lucid Dreaming-Gateway to the inner self), so I remain calm and almost submissive to what is happening. I soar over the beautiful grey/green forest for a few seconds and then catch myself thinking, "oh no, If I have doubt about flying then I wont be able to!.. wait.. I just doubted myself didn't I?" I often have problems about psyching myself out this way. So I start to decline pretty fast into the forest, cash, and then blackness. I don't know how long I remained conscious in the blackness but I do remember consciousness.
Before I know it, I'm in another dream and I don't realize it. This time im IN that cabin I spoke of, just before the face of the cliff. I lay down to go to sleep in my dream and subconsciously I try the same method for WILD in my dream. All of this seems to be brought over to my dream habitually since I always try it before I sleep in my waking reality. And then BOOM! Im pulled right out of my physical body from my feet. At this point again, SNAP, im conscious. I realize what just happened in my dream and that im flying through blackness. However I felt relaxed, peaceful, and felt absolutely no fear. This seems to be a major breakthrough for me as I am somewhat scared of the unknown and the dark. (I remember this scenario happening before and I freaked out which ended with me waking up). Before I know it I am conscious again in a valley/desert. Similar to Riverside, CA. (if anyone has been). I remember the colors being extremely vivid. Almost as if everything was colored with pastel. Without thinking, I decide again to just fly straight up. Im not sure why I keep doing this, I would really like to explore the dream in depth more. I assume that my ego realizes whats happening and wants to do the most extreme thing first. So im flying straight up over this valley with some trees and a few hills, going higher and higher and then suddenly, I catch myself thinking again, "If I think about not being able to fly, I wont be able to! Oh no I just did!". Then I proceed to fall straight down again and am surrounded by blackness.
Although these LDs were EXTREMELY short, I am still very excited as they were a huge breakthrough. I highly recommend the WILD technique for anyone who is having troubles having a LD.
What I find interesting is that my knowledge about what is possible in an LD transfers over into my dreams. For example, after my 2 LD's I have a dream (not lucid) about me teaching a stranger who was watching me, how to jump up on top of a huge building by saying, "hey you see that building, its plastic." Although I don't understand what I was talking about, the dream figure sure seemed to as he immediately soared into the air and landed on the building. I then find myself regretting the info taught to him as I thought it might spread around too much and cause chaos. I team up with him to find the other girl he taught how to, "power jump" as I have labeled it from my video game days. In doing this I teach him again how we can jump right through walls and buildings! "all we have to do is believe that we can and look! (I proceed to jump through a pillar) its totally possible". I tell him.
Next time I have a LD I will try to remember to look at my hands to remain lucid for longer. and not try to fly yet since it seems to be too much for me.

If anyone has any info about the bear I keep becoming, psyching myself out, or anything else that would be wonderful.
Again I apologize for the long post, for those who read it I hope you liked some of the info.

Proud to call himself an official Lucid Dreamer,  :-P

You're not just a "Lucid Dreamer"... you're a PHASER!  And an Astral Projector too!  :)
WILDs are another term I use for doing what Robert Monroe called "Phasing" and is a full blown astral projection in my opinion.

Congratulations!

Firmitas

wow thats great to hear! :)

thanks Xanth

wow your first ld and it was a wild, thats superb work mate. surely a bit of dream sign practice and you will be soaring like a natural. ive had many ld's and quite a few wake induced unlucid dreams, but im still to consciously phase into a proper lucid straight from waking. keep us informed on your progress if you can, cheers

Firmitas

unfortunately I've tried a few times after this and so far no luck. Im sure something will happen soon.
I haven't really been trying all that much lately because I am afraid of pushing myself to do it.
I dont want to view it as a negative thing that i "have" to do. I would rather wait until I have the urge to.
What do you think about this approach?
