I had what may have been a false awakening experience.I woke up and for a brief minute I thought I was about 10 years old and waking up in my childhood bedroom. Then my memory returned. Just before awaking I had this flow of dust falling down toward me.This has aways represented aura to me in dreams. Before that I had dreamed that same night I had taken off in a rocket. [:)]
That's cool to see I'm not the only one experiencing that kind of stuff-I't's tons of fun, and gives us a chance to directly experience, and possibly learn from our past[:)]

.
I would love to hear about more of these kinds of lucid experiences. The objects that felt solid, could you be more specific. thanks
Dee
sorry about the long wait for a reply.I only have an hour a day on these stupid library computers! I think I can start out by saying that the more you practice lucid dreaming, the more your awareness becomes refined, the more real the dreamscape becomes, the more you can remember about your physical life, and the more control you begin to have over the dream, whether you want to ask questions to people or things in the dream,or whether you want to completely leave the dream (state your intent or need loudly, then just fly away).this allows you to apply specific needs and goals by being able to remember things about who you are in the physical.in the limitless and malleable reality of lucid dreams and other astral realitys, it allows you to access parts of your whole self and your past,or you can access other parts of the astral in order to bring more clarity and insight to your life.or you can access other astral realitys you are able to "tune in" to.
here's some specifics about this particular experience: I "woke up" in my room of about 15 years ago in an apartment building. It was incredibly solid and real-very close to the physicality of the physical world (very unlike most dreams-compare the "solidity-feeling-contrast" between the physical and a dream).I am a musician (guitarist), so naturally I was looking for guitars! when I picked up my dream guitar and started to play it-holy crap! It was soreal! the fingerboard felt perfectly solid and wooden! It was the same with the sitar and mandolin-I've never owned a sitar or mandolin, but I sure remembered them in the dream! (hmmm...past life?[:O])it was like that with everything there.the walls, pictures on the wall, it was all so "solid"! just like waking up in the past!
I don't know what else to say but that it was very unlike a "normal" lucid dream.I think this efrfect is from building awareness through practice, and if you don't keep it up, your awareness gets becomes less awake.
This seems to be happening more often lately for some reason.Once in a while i'll have a false awakening in which I wake up, then realise with some pleasant surprise, that I've ended up in my room in an apartment I lived in about 10 years ago.Everything is exactly as it was (except for a few additional objects I never owned, but remember somehow in the lucid state, and some stuff I didn't have 'till a few years later).Everything was incredibly real and solid, and mostly true to how it was.I even rediscoved some stuff in there that I had completely forgotten!.I looked around at my old room, with a comfortable familiarity.I looked for a certain guitar I used to own,but foolishly sold.I found a sitar! (I've never owned one).I tried to play it, but didn't make any sense to me,but somehow it felt very familiar.I put it down, and resumed my search.I found a mandolin! (also never owned one of these).again it's very familiar.I finally found the guitar I was looking for.I played it,and it felt and sounded SO solid and real.then I lost lucidity, and the dream faded away. An experience such as this makes me wonder-just how far in the past can we travel during a lucid state-possibly just by stating our intention? How many lost memories can we bring to light? the thing that really struck me about this experience was the solidity and realism of it.[:O][:)]If it is true,as I was told by a being who claimed to be socrates (?!)in one "time travel lucidity" experience, that time really is all one-that there is no "past", or "future",it just depends on your point of perception, it bring a world of possibilitys to light. What would you do if you could travel to any point in time during lucidity?
