I would say that your toes & feet, fingers & hands are the most important.  As RB states in NEW, these are like the roots of a tree and these are the therefore the most important to stimulate initially.  If you think of a tree, however healthy it's trunk appears, if its roots are cut off or blocked, it won't be long before the tree begins to wither because its main source of raising/drawing energy is no longer available.

But I think it's equally important not to spend too much time & focus too much awareness on individual areas (see quotes from NEW, below).  It's a fine balance, but I think if you can get some energy moving, then that is the important thing.

Can you pre-stimulate your toes, feet & legs and get at least a little energy moving up them?  If you can get even a small amount of energy up your legs and into sub-naval, it means that you are on the right track and are raising and storing some energy.  It's not necessarily a good thing to focus too much awareness on individual areas unless there are severe problems there, as these will start to clear and strengthen as a result of normal energy raising:  As you become used to raising energy, these blocked or narrow energy pathways will become stronger on their own due to increased demands on them.  You can always go back to do more work on these later.

It might help if you massage your feet & hands before doing the energy work.  Also, try doing a little energy work whenever you have a spare moment, such as sitting on a bus, waiting in a queue, watching TV, etc.  Although you won't get the same strong sensations as when you're focusing your whole attention on it, this is a good way to get used to raising energy and you'll find after a short while it becomes automatic.  It is probably also better for you long-term than using too much awareness on these areas - they will catch up!

If you can get some energy going to the sub-naval, then use some awareness to imagine the sub-naval acting as a vacuum, you will find the energy automatically being drawn there.

So as far as shortcuts is concerned, I would suggest wrapping the feet (including toes) and joints in the legs, then wrapping the hands (including fingers) and joints in the arms.  If you have time, do some brushing afterwards.

1.5 hours seems excessive?

You want to get a little energy flowing.  Once it's flowing, move on.  If you find a blockage, then work on it, then move on.  Don't be afraid to try whole body, and feel where you need work.  You should be playing with whole body after 2 weeks, jsut to see how your doing, then working on the parts that need a boost.

N.E.W. is as limiting as it is helpful, if you follow it too rigidly.  Use it as a general guide, not a carved in stone ancient text.  Ultimately you won't really use it if you progress far enough.
There is a physical limitation upon how much light a human body can sustain. Interestingly, there is no limit on how much light a human vessel can generate. When fully enlightened you must instill your light in order to maintain its wisdom.

i have 2 questions about n.e.w. :

1. With me, in general both my legs and both my arms doesn't respond too well to energy work, altough my legs have much more sensations than the arms and i have a lot of difficulties to get sensations on the arms. Now, considering that i would want to develop psychic abilities, and considering i do now trance meditation everyday, what should i work first, leg work or arms work? It's too long and tedious to do BOTH arms and legs work in a day (because takes me 1,5 hours to complete each pair) so is it possible that by first developing my legs and get them working well, would developing arms some weeks/months later be much easier and take less time to develop than doing both legs and arms work everytime ?

2. If i plan to make a "shortcut" to arms or legs work, what is more important to develop first, the joints, like feet or hands(those are very important so i would do full work on them), ankles, knees, hip joints, wrists, elbows and shoulders, OR should i focus more on doing those long brush actions along the full length of legs back and forth (including the joints, but not work on them alone) ? This way i would not take 1,5 hours to finish leg work or arm work.
