Title: Absorbing energy...
Post by: MadLordNad on February 14, 2005, 13:36:52
I've been thinking about some people saying they take energy from the air as they breathe or the earth as they walk/stand.

If they're (we're) able to do that why not try absorbing energy from a hot shower/bath or the radiance of the sun when you feel its heat on your skin?

Are our energy bodies able to take in/convert thermal energy into what it needs?

You can take energy however you need. I frequently take energy from hot showers. For the most part just avoid taking energy from other people without their permission and its all good.

I take 2 long hot showers daily- it's an integral part of my energy work. It really does help to raise your energy levels. The benefit of each shower seems to be incremental, but over time it really does add-up.

With showers I don't even do it consciously. It just happens. I've never really understood how showers were relaxing to some people, I always come out wide awake, refreshed and recharged.

If you're trying to do it consciously, all you've got to do it focus on the water on the heat and pull it in. It's kind of like working with NEW. Just use your awareness to pull it in. It may help if you visualize the heat coming off of the water and swirling around you like a red haze and then visualize that entering your body.

a nice trick is absorbing heat energy and converting it to another kind of energy so that you don't feel 'hot' anymore...... and on 40 degree days like today was (or whatever high temp it was argh) it be very useful......

Wind is another useful wind, and you can absorb energy to heat yourself as well....

Maybe the question should be:how could I project energy to heal living creatures and situations?.

Don't we already? I can't tell you how awesome I feel after a shower... I prefer the shower to the sun since I won't get wrinkles and skin cancer and ugly tans from it.

Don't you feel sensual pleasure from hot showers? Much different from a cold shower...

Just stay in the shower long enough and you'll end up all wrinkled

Anyway, have to agree. If I feel bad, tired, wore down, eg. I take a shower and I really get out recharged / refresched.

Not permanent ones that damage your skin. Wrinkle through water and wrinkle through burning is very different.

Besides, you only get those when constantly submerged, otherwise it would take forever if it happened at all.

I usually feel as though I absorb most of my energy from the sun. I can tell the difference after a few days of not having direct sun contact, via clouds or what have you.

I live in San Diego where its mostly sunny year round, but we've been having a rainy winter and man I can feel my energy drained. When the sun is out I suck it in.

I need a new energy source probably. heh.

Don't mean to downplay your dark California Winter  but here in Massachusetts it's like living in an empty shell of a body for 9 months out of the year then the Sun comes out in May for 3 months and you feel like a new  person. Year after year. November strikes, the clock goes forward or backward or whatever it is and you feel like killing yourself for the next 9 months. I'm not kidding either it's 9 months a year of Grey, dark, cold, damp, sh*t. No wonder why the hobby for so many around this RAT RACE section of the world is work.  I refuse to become an android for work, thus it hits me hard, like an aluminum baseball bat to the head. I just started meditating and it's helping somewhat. I hope it helps next Winter cause every one I promise myself it's my last. Thank God for my wife and child, they keep me on this miserable planet. Life in the DARK CLOUD STATE. It could be worse though right?

Hi Leannain,

Try NEW system, microcosmic orbit, kundalini yoga, or the like.

From my experience NEW is the only one which treats secondary energy system, which in my opinion is awfully important to energy development.

I do practice it everyday, and I can experiment day by day different bodily and consciousness sensations.

Anyway, and it worked for me, I'm that kind of person which needs a lot of different viewpoints, so I've been reading from different sources: esoterics, yoga, magick, and the like.

Peace, love and evolution.

Title: showers
Post by: Mekiel on February 17, 2005, 12:00:47
When I red this topic about showers I must say it piqued my interest. I have allergies and it itches my body.. All over. One of my solutions has been to take a hot shower cause it relieves the itch.  So the past 6 years I have been taking hot showers at least twice a day. My doctor says it will worsen my allergies, cause the hot water will dry out my skin, and his right somewhat.. but I don't care cause it feels good. Then suddenly after 6 years I start to spontaneously astral project. And I never thought it might be related to me taking showers.. He he funny eh? So one might say had it not been for my Itch, leading to hot showers, leading to spontaneous astral projection, leading to.. well then I might have had a different lifestyle to say the least..

Take care

Well, I don't know if showers necessarily lead to spontaneous projection, but it is an interesting line of thought to follow...

If you're interested in taking energy during winter, I recommend taking energy from the ground. A dark, "hearty" energy, it will empower you during the day to move and get things done.  This is a pretty good thing to do if it's cloudy all the time, like in Massachusetts (I live in CT, so I feel your pain). When it's sunny, take your energy while you can, but it's a good idea to absorb the sun energy through your hand chakras, instead of your feet. In Astral Dynamics, Robert Bruce talks about how energy absorbed through feet and hands is different, and through experimentation, I've found this to be true. In fact, it corresponds quite well with the chinese martial arts' view on chi.

Dark energy comes to us from the earth, empowering and strengthening us. Light energy comes from the sky, enlightening and balancing us. This comes from the ancient Chinese philosophy that the Earth is the darkest thing ever created, and the sky is the lightest.

Er... As I was saying...  If the sun isn't shining much, or only weakly, try also drawing in energy through your hands, outside, from moonlight. I find the airy and "slippery" energy to be a good change from the standard energy raising practices found in Astral Dynamics.

Still, I can see the possible connection. Showers are by their nature a great way for cleansing and energizing. And if done frequently enough I could easily see that leading to spontaneous AP.

aye i think the ground can be our greatest source of energy since we walk on it lol

Simple grounding exercise:

Visualize a red beam of light, like a laser beam, connecting from the base of your spine to the center of the earth. Push all of your old, used up energy down the cord into the center of the earth where it can be broken down and cleansed for later use (you can visualize it as a black or gray cloud of energy if you don't have enough energy awareness). After that either just pull energy in through your feet, or visualize red light moving up from your feet and filling your body.

be careful of absorbing energies it might affect your energy body. There are many kinds of energy, maybe positive or negative both are we able to absorbed. When I go to shower or taking a bath I always do my prayer & blessing the tub I use, you know prayer is a prositive energy & powerful!.           ...Belive me!

I dont think psi is in the air. It only appears to be in the same place because of our limited view of dimensions.

Ok... Well... A good exercise for drawing energy from the ground is as follows... It uses the NEW system, and since you're reading Robert Bruce's forums, I'll assume you've read about it on his site or in his books. If you haven't, you can see it here:

http://www.astraldynamics.com/tutorials/?BoardID=6

I just call this a standing meditation. I don't see a need for a fancy name, and I've never heard any other name for it, but was taught to me by a friend who has practiced martial arts his entire life and has a very "intuitive" approach to chi. I changed his visualization to the NEW system. It is NOT for those of you looking for an easy way to raise energy, and it will be painful the first few times you try it, most likely. But it is EXTREMELY effective.

Stand with your feet about shoulder length apart. Make sure your knees are slightly bent. To a certain degree, the more bent your legs are, the more energy you can raise... I'd go with a slight bend, but don't lock your knees up. Keep your back straight, eyes forward (not at the ground). Tuck your elbows into your sides, arms out in front of you, with your index fingers pointing towards each other... Sort of like you're holding a barrel or something in your arms. Curvature of the arms in this stance doesn't have a bearing.

Pre-stimulate if you feel like it. Begin raising energy from the ground, but instead of shooting it straight into your sub-navel center (which you could do, if you want... It's powerful enough in its own right, but..), curve it around into your left arm, shoot it out your left fingers, into your right fingers, and bring the flow from your right hand up to the shoulder, and then down into your sub-navel storage center. This will form a rotational effect within the energy, as well as working much of your energy body. Rotational effect is somewhat important, especially if you're raising the energy to affect physical objects, like telekinesis or something.

If you like to aid your energy raising with breath awareness, raise energy to the left hand with the inhale, shoot it out and into the sub-navel on the exhale.

I recommend starting with about 5 or 10 minutes a day. It's hard work, but if you practice daily, it becomes easier. That will probably be about a week. Doing it for longer will (obviously) raise more energy, but don't go out of control with it unless you're prepared for the consequences of having too much energy on your hand. If you get uncomfortable, or have too much energy afterwards... Refer to the NEW text, as it will generally be nothing that hasn't already been addressed there.

I personally find this technique to be great. I'd like to hear if anyone else has success with it.

If I had some, I'd share for sure -.-

As for the energy... It's most likely not going to be harmful to you personally, but from what I've seen, people you hang around with will be quite uncomfortable, especially those more naturally sensitive to energy.
