hello people out there

i've read from various sources that says to stay away from any form of alcohol after beginning work on your third eye or work on your chakras.

the books says that it attract negative entities and energy

is there anyone out there who can elaborate on that...or discuss more on this topic

can i not have a few drinks?  must i stay away from it completely?  what would i do on weddings, parties, and all that fun stuff?

i really wouldnt mind not drinking.  it just gets a little difficult when the pressure comes from friends and family.  i miss beer but if it doesnt go well with energy work, i'd rather abstain from it . . .

Alcohol is a depressant. It drains your energy and has an inhibitting effect. That being said I think you know that for serious development it would be best to drink less. Especially that having a beer may open the avenue for "having just a couple more".

Personally I still drink beer. I try not to binge as much as I used to. It's really part of Australian culture. I don't think I'll ever give it up completely. Can't have your cake and eat it too I suppose. Funny saying that, should I eat someone else's cake then?

I don't drink alcohol anymore. I decided to give it up due to the fact I would get seriously drunk after half a pint of bud or something. I even tried watering it all down or drinking beer shandies but it didn't have much of an effect. So i decided to stay aawy from drink.. which is hard been young and going out EVERYONE has a drink in their hands. At least i only wake up been tired haha

i got this from my little brother who found it from some newsletter from xtrememind.com:

>>>MY COMMENTS:

I get this question a lot...

Alcohol tends to loosen inhibitions, allowing you to come out
and play more.

I've done some tests with alcohol and Chakras, because to me,
everything comes down to Chakras in the end. I can check someone's
Chakra's and predict many, many things about them VERY consistently.

With regards to alcohol, I've noticed that once a person has
had a few drinks, the Chakras have a tendency to open pretty
wide.

The problem is that they open TOO WIDE too quickly, AND they
tend to become unbalanced in the opposite direction.

For example, let's say that someone is too feminine, passive,
and reserved.

Give them enough booze and they'll become unbalanced in the
OTHER direction - They'll become too masculine, too foward,
and too outgoing.

You know - They'll talk too much, they'll lean in too close,
they'll approach a total stranger and say, "Nice tits!" or something
like that.

Now, another interesting thing is that the next day, once they've
sobered up, they'll not only revert back to being too feminine,
passive, and reserved, but they'll be even MORE SO.

I've found that booze will especially affect Chakras 3 ("personal
power") and 4, the Heart Chakra.

Let's say that the person is actually too masculine, agressive,
and outgoing to begin with, and they get drunk. They too will
often revert the other way and become too feminine, but they
tend to become very feminine and LOVING. They are the "I love
you" drunks...

Of course, my Chakra/Alcohol tests are quite limited, and I've
found plenty of counter-examples, but I intend to play around
and test this stuff much more extensively in the future.

Anyone care to help?

Thanks for your email.

Interesting, I only recently started drinking.  Up until the age 28 I had never been drunk, I had never had more than a mouthful of any beverage.  But now, two years later, I can get ripped with the best of them!!

However.  Moderation is the key in all things.  If you want to have a drink, then have one.  If you want to get drunk, then by all means do.  Just learn when to say when and don't do it all the time.  Also, I would note, if you do it, do because you want to or don't want to, not because that is what everyone else is doing or saying.

As far as it attracting negative things.  I don't think so.  If a person is having problems with bad things happening to them when they drink I would have to sak why they drink to begin with.  I personally do not believe that it is the act of drinking, or in reality of doing anything, but it is the mind set that you have when going into it.  Heck, if you are angry at the world you could have a bad experience because of a Twinkie.  Would you blame the Twinkie or yourself?

Nothing happens unless at some point we make the choice to allow it to happen.

cool guy,

I still would not be advertising alcohol as something that assists in energy work. The thing is, some people may read this and misinterpret your posts as meaning that alcohol can assist in energy development.

Alcohol tends to loosen inhibitions? It's an inhibitor though. How did you come to that conclusion? When your chakras are unbalanced, is that not inhibitting? I am not disagreeing that it has an effect on the chakras, but what use is the effect when you can't control it?

sorry about that, there was no intentions to advertise that alcohol assist in energy work, as a result, i just renamed the title of the topic.

anyways, i'm going to quote something interesting i got from a book called "awakening the third eye" by samuel sagan.  it is a very good and practical book on working on your third eye and more.  in one chapter of Sagan's book called protection, he explains that alcohol and spiritual work is a dangerous mixture:

Alcohol and spiritual work - a dangerous mixture

I would never advise anybody to smoke, but it is a fact that one can go quite a long way spiritually and still be addicted to cigarettes.  Tobacco generates negative vibrations, but its action is not lethal to spiritual life.

Alcohol, on the other hand, can very quickly lead to disaster if one is learning to explore non-physical worlds.  Alcohol automatically connects you with areas of the lower astral that are full of noxious entities.  Therefore alcohol should be avoided at any cost, as soon as one starts to work on the third eye.

Tranquillisers, neuroleptics and other psychiatric drugs disconnect you from higher worlds and negate the action of the work of opening.

Hard drugs, such as heroin, are totally incompatible with inner work, their effect being similar to alcohol but much worse.   Trying to open perception while living in the same house as a heroin addict is like smoking cigars inside a petrol refinery:  dangerous.

What about other drugs?  I could tell you the usual things:  They are never necessary.  They create scars and introduce toxins in the etheric and the astral -- not only in the physical.  If some can force an opening of perception, this opening is transient, uncontrolled, completely unprotected, and most often twisted.  Even marijuana, when taken regularly, tends to make your astral body dull and unresponsive.  And so on...  All sorts of facts that you have probably heard before.

However, it seems to me that the real answer to the question of drugs is that by developing your subtle bodies you will gain the capacity to be intoxicated without the need for any substance.  A true seer is somebody who is permanently intoxicated with what he or she receives from the universe and beyond.  You would be quite misled to believe that this is just an image and that it should not be taken too literally.  Just wait till you drink your first drop of the nectar of immortality!  It will leave you laughing and rolling on the floor for half an hour.  Truly.  And it is excellent for your health.

Tune in above the head and you can be instantly stoned (but not dull).  Open your heart, and you have ecstasy.  The company of angels bestows secondary benefits much sweeter than chocolate.  Reach the Spirt of Life, the glorious transformed etheric body, and you will have absolute heroin...  On a simple level, several techniques of this book when practised - not even mastered, just practised - generate an instant flow of endorphins.  It is one of the dramas of the men and women of our civilisation to mistake drug ingestion for intoxication, and more generally to search outside for what is already waiting for them inside.

I agree that alcohol drains your energy, in my opinion most likely physical... But I can't see that it may drain or effect the chakras or anything else, marijuana was also listed above. Like i saw earlier i think its how you are in your head basically. I'm getting to the point as another person stated above, if your not right with yourself and you drink well, your going to have problems. I smoked pot for about a year and a couple of months and it completely turned my life around, i saw the things that were important and what not. I felt spiritually alive with or without the pot... But then you see the pot heads who are non stop and you cant see anything but a simple pot head? I believe everything is the way you make it... at least here... BUT ALSO, i quit smoking pot because out of no where I developed an allergy and it feels very bad so i stopped smoking pot over all. So in my case either above, i am right... or "the self" didn't need pot or maybe some other reason... So over all I think its a matter of your state of mind, but if you don't feel right while drinking, don't do it. :-)

the fool on the hill

i've noticed a few things about drugs & energy work. when reallllly intoxicated sometimes i will get an OBE shaking or vibrating feeling but i cannot control it. almost as if the "power" was expanding and i could not do anything. since alcohol is a depressant, i am slowed down, i might come in to contact with the things that we usually overlook but we see unconsciously (ex:sunrays).

Another thing that is peculiar is the chemicals of the brain that are stored for later used but can be released trough a transe (and SADLY not angels who give extacy better than chocolate). of course some instant brain heroin is nice but to me it does not compare to the suthing high of a J.

loppoppy

once when i was drunk i was on my long walk home and stopped on a nearby hill to take a break. I started meditating and the affect the drink had on me totally lifted. I have only managed to do that once though but other times doing anything with energy after consuming alcohol has never had any specifically bad results it remains much the same for me.
for what shall it profit a man if he is to gain the world and lose his own soul?
