well, if you can make dense psiballs, then whats the problem?? do u think YOUR psiballs are not made of energy? What else could it be?? of course your doing it right: but if your not sure, put it to the test and try electrokenesis or different ki attacks: if u can do some kind of kenesis, or if your attacks have a powerful effect, then yes, your doing it correctly!

Ok when I practice I do so with my eyes open because I am not good at it with my eyes closed. Is it wrong if I feel like the sides of me eyeballs are doing the tracing when I want energy to move from one part of my body to another.  I am not actually looking at the path I want the energy to follow(my eyes are facing forward), but it feels like the sides of my eyeballs are doing the tracing (almost like if I have insivible lazers on the sides of my eyeballs that trace the path for energy to follow).  When I make psiballs I also feel some sort of pressure on the outer parts of my eyes, and I get a little dizzy, and my eyes feel tired after I do it for a while.

I don't know if that made sense but I tried to explain it as simply as possible in hopes of not confusing anyone as to what it is I am asking and getting some responses, because I am confused about this.

Please.  I would like some advice.  Is it wrong if I am feeling pressure on the sides of my eyes while doing energy exercises?  Like I stated, I feel as though the path for energy to travel is being taced by the sides of my eyes, even when I close my eyes and do the exercises.  I feel very tired and dizzy after doing energy work and have stopped for the last few days because I wanted to get that cleared up before continuing and possibly doing more harm than good.

I would appreciate the help.

I don't know if there is anything wrong with the part about your eyes. It sounds like you might be too visual and though you are not actually looking at your body you are still thinking about looking at your body and using your eyes. Maybe try to just feel and not visualize.

Energy is natural and it comes easily to some. I was doing energy work before I ever knew what it was. So what you are feeling is correct.
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

Hi none,

Appreciate this si a belated reply:

Can add much more than already said. Other than re: dizziness and feeling pressure on the sides of my eyes!

Are you applying extended deep breathing techniques and if so is it posible that you are hyperventilating a little? If so then modify your practice and only take a few deep breaths at first then move to more natural breath awareness throughout the period of your practice.

During NEW and other practices I am used to feeling a variety of sensations including pressure located around the head.. R Bruce likens this to the feeling of a tight band been wrapped around ones head. Normally for me this chakra/energy centre does not remain uncomfortable following practice. Other sensations can feel like cob webs on ones face - located on either or both sides of the face from ears to brow and can feel like an electrical tingling combined with a rhythmic pulsation at the same time. However this is never uncomfortable and as far as I understand indicates awareness of energy pathways activating etc.

I don't think you should have too much to worry about to be honest. If you are young and fit probably not an issue! If older like me then if still worried perhaps consider getting your blood pressure measured as a precaution.

Hope this helps,

I don't understand the part about being too visual.  How am I supposed to not be visual and just "feel".  I am not physically looking at the area I want to feel energy.  The sensation I feel on the sides of my eyes like I mention makes me feel the energy on a certain area.  If I want to feel energy on the right side of my body it feels like the right sides of my eyes trace the path for energy to travel.  If I want to feel energy on the left side of my body it feel as though the left sides of my eyes trace it to the left.  If I want to feel energy on my back it feels as though the back part of my eyes trace the path.

I tried just closing my eyes and feeling but I couldn't, I don't understand how I am supposed to just feel without picturing where I am supposed to feel.  When I started feeling as though the sides of my eyes are doing the tracing that's when I was able to very easily feel energy.  I could form a psiball very easily.  But like I said my eyes feel very tired.  I get dizzy when I focus on one area for too long because I feel pressure on my eyes.

I just don't know what to do.

its quite similiar to when you have a toothache, your awareness automatically focuses itself inside your mouth. you are looking for a similar effect with any other part of your body. shift focus up your leg as if each bit was being sliced open by a knife. that sounds a bit extreme but it is the awareness that counts not visualisation.

I also find this hard to do..  I find it easier to 'feel' something anywhere by imagining that I'm doing something with that area.

Also, about the Awareness Hands in R. Bruce's guide - how are you supposed to imagine Awareness Hands doing something to a part of your body if you're not allowed to "see" them?..

I don't understand how it is possible to recreate a feeling  of something going across your leg without picturing it in your mind happeneing.

I ran a pen across my leg, now when I try to recreate that feeling, I picture my leg and feel as though my eyes focus the energy on my leg and then I feel it there.

If someone were to cut my leg I wouldn't need to picture it happeneing, the pain would be a response to the act.  Since it is not really happening how can I just think of it happening without picturing my leg in my mind?

Like I stated that I feel as though my eyes focus the energy there, even if I am not physically looking at it.  Is that wrong?  If I can succesfully feel energy there is it wrong?  My eyes do grow fatigued and I get dizzy tht's what I don't understand.

Why is it that people seem to avoid responding to this thread until the next time I bump it up?

I feel like I am asking legitimate questions and giving examples of what it is I feel and why and so on.  I am not trying to waste time by posting about Dragonball Z or The Matrix or other silly things, I really am interested in learning yet people avoid my topic.  Why?  Is it because you do not know?  Is it because you do not care?  Is it because you want to keep your knowledge to yourself?  I don't understand.  I hate to accuse anyone, but I am starting to think that one of those is the reasons.  Every time someone has answered me, I have posed more questions and comments yet my thread keeps falling.

Maybe someone will respond or maybe my thread will sink again, it's worth another shot.

I spoke to a fellow who was into Astral Prjection and energy work.  I described to him what I was feeling when I focus energy to different parts of my body.  He told me that I was doing it correctly.  That my mind was doing the work and my eyes simply acted as tools to focus energy, and to keep going.  Yet in the NEW book under Tactile Imaging it says the following.

Note: Focus body awareness alone on the specified target area and try not to use your eyes unless you really have to. Many people, however, find they cannot learn T.I. techniques without using their eyes for targeting. Do what is necessary for as long as you need to, but try and wean yourself off using your eyes as soon as you can. Many of the more advanced exercises and techniques given later in this tutorial do not allow the use of the eyes, or any other form of targeting or highlighting aid.

When robert says do not use your eyes.  Does he mean do not look at the area?  Because I am not looking at the area, I can look straight ahead even when my eyes are closed but the sides of my eyes feel like they do the focusing(the guy I talked to online tells me this is correct).  I am trying to understand because I do not wish to waste time making mistakes.  Other people have made comments, which I have responded to with questions about and yet they go unanswered.  That is what I wish for.  For someone to please help me understand, if it isn't too much of an unconvenience.  And I ask the mods to please not delete my post or lock this thread.

Hey none,
This is a tricky aspect of NEW; Robert Bruce even mentioned that it was difficult to explain.  Anyway, there is really nothing wrong you are doing; you are doing energy work.  However, it would help you out if you could master doing NEW with your eyes closed.  The thing you did with the pen was perfect; do this again, but this time close you eyes while doing this and clear your mind.  When you clear your mind, be sure to erase all mental images from your mind.  The key to this is focusing just on the feeling of the pen tracing a path on your leg.  It's similar to remembering the feeling of being tickled, don't visualize but just relive the scenario.  Do the same thing with NEW: try to recreate the feeling of the pen tracing a path on your leg.  Keep in mind that you might not feel anything at first.  I have had trouble with visualization too.  Just hang in there.  Any time you visualize, just push the image out of your mind; eventually you will train your mind to not visualize.  Remember though, this will take time.

Tell us your progress.  Good luck!

He who kisses the Joy as it flies,

I had posted before about only being able to feel what I thought was energy when I had my eyes open and that I wasn't very good at doing it with my eyes closed.  I could very easily focus on a toe or on my knee or a finger or an entire leg or any part of my body and feel tingling there, but was right now trying to do some practice and I started being able to also focus on a body part with my eyes closed as well, but I still feel like I am better at it with me eyes open.

Anyway the question is this.  Am I really doing the energy work correctly?? I ask because I can feel tingling very easily over any area I focus on with my mind (even more so when I have my eyes open) and was just wondering if it wasn't a fluke.  I had stated before that I could do stuff like this before I had heard of NEW and didn't know if it was just old habits that weren't in fact energy work, or if what I am doing is in fact energy work. Right now as I am typing this I tried it again and took my hands away from the keyboard just to see if I could feel it again just by focusing and just sort of focused on both my palms and felt tingling and the more I focused the more intense the sensation became.  When I focus enough to feel a more intense tingling I sort of cup my hands together and move them closer together without them touching and feel almost like a little ball of energy and keep moving them farther apart then closer together (I had read about this somewhere about psiballs) and the tingling becomes more and more intense.  You know when you ride in a car and stick your hand out the window and cup it, it feels like you are holding a ball.  That's kinda what it feels like, except it tingles alot.

Well I just wanted to ask and share some experiences.  If I am not doing it correctly and am full of BS I ask that you please not make fun of me[:D]  I am still trying to figure out a bunch of stuff and decided that it's better to ask even if it might seem silly or whatever than to just keep wondering on whether or not I am doing it correctly.  I also ask that you excuse the grammar and somewhat rambling nature of this post, I was trying to get my thoughts down before I could forget them as to not leave anything I wanted to say out of this post.
