Title: chakra questions?
Post by: Aidan_Raine on December 19, 2003, 04:10:29
In response to your question on how to reach other levels of consciousness with your chakras, I suggest that you look into working with the Kundalini.

When you work with the kundalini, chakras start to awaken.  Eventually, when the kundalini reaches the crown chakra, you become enlightened "one with everything".

You can also look into Kundalini Reiki, it is a form of energy healing.  Good Luck.

I think how strongly the sensations you get in the chakra could be a good way to determine when its time to move on to another one. the more you feel in one the more vitality there will be to pass on to the next. i usually build up a good spin or warmth sensation before moving on the next, sometimes if you build up the sensations enough it will move on its own or will spill into the next chakra or shoot or squirt to another area of your body that is tired. another good thing to do is condesing the sensations of warmth or light in the chakra into a little ball or pearl. after condensing it nice and tight it will burst out gentley through your whole system or up through the channels. kind of like an unraveling of the condensing pressure put on it.

yes you can. im not a big fan of breathing techs though, i found my breathing patterns change naturally with state of consciousness im in so i guess its a matter of preferance of the device you choose to get you into the state of consciousness. the device of choice i like to use is focusing on sensations and emotions/feelings.

I usually just meditate and spin my chakra's Individually. Keep in mind that there are 7 MAIN Chakra's but more than 300 lesser ones.

Does it matter which direction you spin them?

Yes but everyones direction is different you have to figure your own out. If you have a high awarness of spiritual things you might be able to acctually feel which way they are spinning. Also be careful because if you have a Chakra blokage they will spin oppisite of thier correct direction.

I here color is very effective on chakras. Like useing colored stones or visualizations. I was thinking if just place peices of colored paper on them what effect would it have? Like using yellow on the 3rd would it balance it, or white on the 3rd would it activate or over stimulate if you left it to long.

your input please.

to Michael_E :

please answer this : when you say "I think how strongly the sensations you get in the chakra could be a good way to determine when its time to move on to another one" i have two questions about this :

1. According to NEW, when feeling strong sensations isn't that a energy blockage or energy resistance ? Or in chakras specifically it's not like that ?
2. When i try to feel my sub-navel center i feel a weird sensation there. But this is very strange. I almost never feel this sensation before i starting practising NEW. But also, long before practising NEW, and even today, everytime i lye on my back i get the same sensation on my lower belly (i am overweight, 275 pounds) and it keeps being more and more unconfortable as i stay in that position, that's why i can't stay in that position a long time. Altough when i am sit of lying on my side, that doesn't happen, but everytime i breath with awareness i feel that sensation again! Also when i try to fill my sub-navel center (from the legs) i ALSO feel that. It's all this the same thing : stimulating the sub-navel center ? But it's strange that just by lying on my back i would feel the same sensation than when filling the sub-navel center (and no i am not lying on my back when filling the sub-navel center).
3. It's normal that when filling the sub-navel center we don't feel the energy overflowing to the heart and brow centers ? Or this only happens after filling the sub-navel daily, some weeks later ? Also this would also affect other chakras, like the base/root chakra and solar plexus chakra ?

please i hope you answer those questions, if you want or know, of course.

hi alpine ,i will help you with yor problem.Chakras are energy points, inside human bodies. There are 7 major chakras. In most people, those nergy points are blocked, thats why we feel fear,we are getting sick,we ar not happy from life ,we live..staff like this.I will get you familiar, with each chakra, first and then i will explain you how,to open them or(awake)
Chakra Seven:
Thought, Universal identity, oriented to self-knowledge
This is the crown chakra that relates to consciousness as pure awareness. It is our connection to the greater world beyond, to a timeless, spaceless place of all-knowing. When developed, this chakra brings us knowledge, wisdom, understanding, spiritual connection, and bliss.

Chakra Six:
Light, Archetypal identity, oriented to self-reflection
This chakra is known as the brow chakra or third eye center. It is related to the act of seeing, both physically and intuitively. As such it opens our psychic faculties and our understanding of archetypal levels. When healthy it allows us to see clearly, in effect, letting us "see the big picture."

Chakra Five:
Sound, Creative identity, oriented to self-expression
This is the chakra located in the throat and is thus related to communication and creativity. Here we experience the world symbolically through vibration, such as the vibration of sound representing language.

Chakra Four:
Air, Social identity, oriented to self-acceptance
This chakra is called the heart chakra and is the middle chakra in a system of seven. It is related to love and is the integrator of opposites in the psyche: mind and body, male and female, persona and shadow, ego and unity. A healthy fourth chakra allows us to love deeply, feel compassion, have a deep sense of peace and centeredness

Chakra Three:
Fire, Ego identity, oriented to self-definition
This chakra is known as the power chakra, located in the solar plexus. It rules our personal power, will, and autonomy, as well as our metabolism. When healthy, this chakra brings us energy, effectiveness, spontaneity, and non-dominating power.

Chakra Two:
Water, Emotional identity, oriented to self-gratification
The second chakra, located in the abdomen, lower back, and sexual organs, is related to the element water, and to emotions and sexuality. It connects us to others through feeling, desire, sensation, and movement. Ideally this chakra brings us fluidity and grace, depth of feeling, sexual fulfillment, and the ability to accept change.

Chakra One:
Earth, Physical identity, oriented to self-preservation
Located at the base of the spine, this chakra forms our foundation. It represents the element earth, and is therefore related to our survival instincts, and to our sense of grounding and connection to our bodies and the physical plane. Ideally this chakra brings us health, prosperity, security, and dynamic presence.

ok these are 7 chakras.as you see, each chakra has,its own meaning. You dont have to open theme all.If you want ,you can open just one of those 7.For example,if you want to gain personal power, you will need to open third chakra,if you want to gain psychic abilities, you need to open third chakra(sometimes called third eye,or eye of shiva)....and so on.You make your choice, what chakra, you want to awake.your asking  what "activate or awaken" is.well, this is the same as opening chakras.another word your asking "balance or stimulate.once those chakras are opened ,you need to put them into vibrations.I will explain to you, what i mean by that. There are few techniques, how to open chakras.First method,is mudras. if open this link, and you practise those methods, you will awake your chakras  :    http://www.eclecticenergies.com/chakras/open.php

another method,is by using  visualization.visualization means,to see picutures,or colors in your mind, while your eyes are closed.i will give you easy method, how to open chakras, and how to close them.and what should you do before doing chakras meditation.STEP1,to work with chakras, you cannot smoke, you cannot drink alcohol, you cannot take drugs.Your mind has to be clear from all negative thoughs. You need to be focus, and open-mind,on what ur doing.STEP2 this is,before doing meditations,is to open window(s) in your badroom,or whatever place it is,and allow fesh air flow inside your meditation place, you should do it,at least few hours before doing exercises.STEP3is to NOT eat anything 1 hour before and after meditations, you should avoid eating meat,of any kind ,drinking a lot of milk ,and eating rise is very helpful, when working chakras.try to eat a lot of fruits, and eat a lot of vegetables.also drinking filtred water,is good.STEP5 ,and this is very important, you need to take shower, before you do meditations, make sure ur clean, and your teeth as well.STEP4,after you done ,everything i mention above, now is the time to go ,to your meditation place.first thing, you should do before, you starting is to unplug telephone cord,or unplug any other electrical staff inside your meditation place.make sure ,that electric lights are turn off ,as well.now, the very first thing you will need to do,is to light a white candle.put this candle in front of you,and concentrate on flame, watch this flame, put all your emotions inside this flame, ask it,what is it,that you want to achive, imagine all your negative thoughs, going thru the flame.be one with the flame.you should do it at least 10 -15 min, before you start working with chakras.after you done this exercise, lay down on your bad, clsoe your eyes, and relax your body.try to see in your mind, every part of your body, starting from feets,up to your head, see each part of your body relaxing.at the same time, take deep breaths, using your nostrils(by doing it,its a good thing to play some soft music, which will help you being relaxed ,as well).after you done this part, and you feel fresh and relax, now is the time to start meditating.begin, from closing your eyes.and then take deep 3 breaths, using your nostrils.after done,i want you to imagine bright white light, coming from the top of your head, coming down thru your feets.see this light, inside your body, until you will be one with the light, you will feel this light, relaxing your mind, body and spirit.if this part is hard for you,you can also imagine bright,as a spinning vortex in the centre of your body(right between you chest and yuor stomach)see this vortex of bright white light, entering your body, until your body is covered with this white light.do this for at least 5- 10 min.after you done it,take another 3 deep breaths, using your nostrils, close your eyes, and see your body laying on your bed.after you clearly see you body,i want you to imagine white bright light of spinning vortex,of your first chakra.its location is  at the base of the spine ,and its color is red.(if this is hard for you to imagine colors,of your chakras,so just use white bright light of spinning vortex, entering your chakra location).see this white vortex, entering your first chakra, see this vortex getting bigger and bigger, glowing bigger and bigger, spinning faster and faster.feel your body, feel sensations in your first chakra, while doing this.after 5 min,i want you to slow down your spinning vortex of white light,to its normal way.after you done it,it is very importand to close down your chakra.imagine your white vortex of white light, entering your first chakra, until you will not see, this vortex.also you can imagine a flower,or (red flower)in this chakra, glowing with bright light, and when you are about to close your chakra, simply imagine flower closing its petals.until bright white light,is inside the petal.this techniques i mention above, you will use for all six remaining chakras.after yo done with your last chakra(which is crown chakra.)simply take 3 deep breaths, and open your eyes.DONE  you successfully opened, balanced and closed your seven chakras.       this are additional informations of locations of each chakras, and its color.
The first chakra is located at the base of the spine and is associated with red
The second chakra is located in the area of the womb (or thereabouts for men) and is associated with the color orange
The third chakra is located at the solar plexus and is associated with the color gold (yellow).
The fourth chakra (the middle chakra in the chain of seven) is the heart chakra and is associated with the color green
The fifth chakra is located at the throat and is a bright blue
The sixth chakra is located at the third eye (mid-forehead) and is indigo (deep purply/blue
The seventh chakra is at the crown of the head, and is violet fading to white further away from the body

i hope,it helps    Robert
ps:or if you really want to cause shifts in consciousness,i recommend you ,to open third eye.technique is on thsi website :

my third eye is not fully open yet.i am still meditating on it.but as soon as your will be open, you will feel pressure in your head, and experience headache.after that, you may have psychic abilites, visions.you can close your eyes, and see what is in front of you.so ,just try this technique, and see if its working for you.after you finish your third day of meditating ,just wait and see what happens.if you dont feel anything within 1-2 weeks, just post new reply here, and i will give you other methods, for opening third eye.

Just a note on the third eye chakra... Opening it is not a one-time and it's done deal.  Just like all the other energy centers, it needs to be worked on and built up over time.  It happens that practicing visualization automatically draws energy to the brow chakra and builds it up, and so if you don't do normal energy work, just visualizing a lot will help to "open" it.

i totally agree with you cruel.i read that, once pineal gland is activated,it may work between 2 weeks and 1 year period.if its stop working during this time, then third eye must be reactivated.i personally believe, that if you meditate on third eye everyday, greater and greater results you may experience.

Does anybody know how to work with chakras to cause shifts in consciousness? I know that when you meditate that your consciousness expands, but I want to know how to work my way up the chakra system to activate the crown. how much stimulating, balancing and clearing do you need in order to shift from one chakra to the next.

Can I just raise and store energy in my sub-navel and just let the energy curculate through my energy system, or use breathing techs?

I would aprechate some advice.
