different energy raising techniques

What are people's opinions and experiences regarding different energy raising techniques?  For example raising energy up the legs and arms Robert Bruce style; as opposed to meditating directly on the lower storage area to draw in energy; reverse breathing and the condensing breath; or the microcosmic orbit and any others?
Personally I find that I get the same results storage-wise by just holding my mind at my lower storage area, but the NEW system is good for clearing out blockages on the way.  Reverse breath in/condensing feels a bit more powerful and the microcosmic orbit just makes me feel really good.  How about the rest of you?

come on, for all the people who have read this thread are you saying that you don't practice?  or that you have no comment on your own experiences with your technique?  It's through reflecting on and evaluating the results we get with whatever techniques we use that we get better at this.

Some of us (like me) haven't decided on a technique yet.

lol. I'd probably get electrocuted if I did any energy raising.
Leaning over
Crawling up
Stumbling all around
Losing my place
Only to find I've come full circle.

cool - I was just trying to get a feel for where people are at.

I've been practicing for a while and thought I'd come and see how other people are going.  I practiced the NEW techniques for about 3 years and got good results but have since found my own hybrid version that works better for me.

Hugo:  I practiced the microcosmic orbit for about 2 years but had some painfully negative effects, personally the dissolving method has given me better long term effects.  What are you using these days?

Hagcin

thefastcook: what kind of negative effects?

thefastcook

Hagcin - with the microcosmic orbit I sometimes experienced pain in my spine as the energy was trying to come through.  I didn't enjoy that

a tip that I try to live by all the time if I every do enegy work ... the most wise tip ive ever been given.

do not try to force a spot to focus on. if you are about to do energy work, sit down or whatnot and just relax and wait. if you have to focus on a spot, focus on the belly. You are waiting for a spot to activate on its own accord. Once that happens, just follow its awareness rythym/movement, create imagery to go along with the spot, create magical witch-like encantations that associate with the spot (they are fun to do mostly). Whatever to keep your attention there. But mostly, just follow and be receptive. The forcing doesnt help anything. Anyone who knows anything about energy knows that in forcing things, you are going against nature. Nature goes on its own accord, so Its wiser to just follow it to cause minimal stress.

I like to simply breath and imagine energy flowing into me, usually in the form of white or silver light. Very simple and very effective.
Narrator: This is crazy...

Tyler Durden: People do it everyday, they talk to themselves...they see themselves as they'd like to be, they don't have the courage you have, to just run with it.

I agree with you Jaycep.  In the past I have used the methods of "forcing" movement and found it "unsettling" for my energy.  Interestingly I know some people who have had "good" results in the long term from doing it this way but I am far more suited to the more method of gently keeping my mind on areas.  I've got my own views on it too I suppose but I can't argue the fact that there are many "masters" who have used the more assertive methods.
