It's all about energy isn't it?

Yes, everything comes down to energy. Even so, my best teacher so far told me that it is a joke to talk about having more or less of it. He even said that when I talk about sharing reiki energy with other people, I am mistaken. He said that when I think I am sharing energy with other people, I am actually just helping to remove an obstacle for that person's receiving the energy surrounding us all. What I don't understand at all is that he says that energy is an absolute, in that either people have it or they do not. He said that energy is attention and the ability to direct it and that people cannot have more or less of it. Yet I can help other people remove obstacles to having more? You see, I have much to learn.

A bit more clarity of expression would be nice. I don't mind being given a set of opposites and having to integrate the two, but it would be nice to openly acknowledge that they are opposites.

It is one thing to say that all matter is a condensed form of energy, and it is another to experience matter as energy. Usually it feels like physical energy is more significant than thoughts, emotions, or the energy I raise. It would be nice to be able to convert electricity coming into my home at 110 volts 60 Hz into some sort of energy to feed my chakras. That would require being able to study the chakra energies directly, to determine what forms they are and what frequencies.

Hmm.  If one could do that then there would be few worries about electromagnetic radiation as it could simply be converted into something healthy.  Maybe that happens.  It's all very interesting, but it will take time to really explore such things and assuredly more background in my case.

Have you asked your teacher for clarification?  He may say something like "Grasshopper, you will understand when it is time."  But then again, maybe he'll suprise you and actually clarify the point.

Hey, given what your teacher said about energy being attention and the ability to direct it, and that one either has it or does not, does he consider ADD to be a punishment for extremely bad karma, or something like that?

That particular teacher makes some difficulties for me because when I am around him it is hard to think logically. He does not take care of himself, so it seems likely that I pay for what he teaches me in energy. It is also possible that he is guiding me into various states of consciousness as he says he is, so that what he has to say will make more sense while he is saying it. My supply of energy is much greater than before having met him, and he clearly deserves credit for some of it even if he did take energy as needed for a while.

As for medical problems, he believes that between lives we are all aware of much more than we are during incarnations. He believes that medical problems are chosen in advance, including genetic defects, and that significant advances in medical research are forcing souls to cause more forms of medical problems at a much faster rate in order to still be able to experience suffering and develop compassion. I will just say that we have agreed to disagree on a great many points.

I have got a square shaped flat energy converter.
It is like a sheet of paper. It contains magnets and plastic.
It converts magnetic energy into electromagnetic waves that the body can pick up...
It is supposed to radiate at the frequency of the lowest chakra.
I have tried it..

It is a certain type of energy. I do think there are many types of energy.
In human relationships, there is an energy exhange.
In reading certain books.
In saying certain words...

The Russians know a lot about this.  KGB pouring billions of dollars into research regarding energy raising abilities to perform certain psychic abilities during the Cold War.  I have read a bit about this in "Remote Viewing" by Tim Rifat.  A book I'm going to pick up soon.

I think a lot of people get caught up in....thinking too much.  The question isn't what is energy, and how significant is it...the real question is, what do you want to do with it?
Because the answer to THAT question is going to be the necessary thing you need to decide how to approach and deal with energy.  If you're growing plants, sunlight is the energy for you.  If you're hoping to play tapes on your radio, then you want electricity.
If it's psi abilities use you want to do, then use psi energy--it's an energy which is just as concrete as electricity, it merely hasn't been mechanically detected yet.
Want to increase your energy levels?  What kind?  Psi and life energy aren't the same.  No more so than sunlight and electricity.
Different approaches for different types.
Identify your goal, then study what needs to be done to reach it.  Don't be sidetracked by unrelated things.

Don't be sidetracked by philosophy, either.  A person who says that energy can't move isn't observing the world, they're philosophizing about it.  You can see/sense that it moves.  Trust your senses before you trust anyone else's mental convolutions.  They'll say all energy is the same--you know you can't plug yourself into a wall socket without harm.  Philosophy, and observation.  Believing in one will give you mental snugglies.  Believing in the other will keep you alive and get you to your goal the fastest.

Never believe something, particularly something about psychic abilities or psychic energy, just because someone--or even a whole lot of people--said it's true.  Test it all for yourself.  If you can't tell, then DON'T DECIDE--wait until you CAN tell for yourself.  You can learn from what people have to teach, but don't accept it merely because they said they're the grand high poobah of the universe with 50 years more experience than you--they could STILL be wrong, and they might even be nuts.
Maybe we all are.  
Energy working is a skill, like carpentry or pottery-making.  You can MAKE it spiritual, but it is not INHERENTLY so.  Recognize when the base skill is being lost beneath the religious or spiritual trappings, and retrieve it, or the pot you throw isn't going to turn out very well.

Once a friend of mine had a small shed that had a deliberately designed pyramid for a roof. This pyramind was clad in copper, and aligned to magnetic north. He used it for preparing gem elixyrs. He told me to just go and sit in the shed under the apex for a few minutes and relax. When I did I could feel such energy flowing around and through me.

It wasn't something I could readily describe as I had no basis for comparison. I just "felt" what I thought to be the earths energy as if it were being magnified and focused on that point where I was sitting.

That experience added to my belief that there is a vast amount of energy in and around the earth, of many different types, that cannot yet be measured by the instruments that we currently have.

That's what it all comes down to, or an awful lot comes down to it anyway.  That's been my conclusion.
