energy attunements

Hello! (I'm new here) I'm curious to know about energy attunements. Can anyone learn how to do them? Where does one start learning about doing them? What are the pros and cons?

Welcome, I'm fairly new here myself.  If you are referring to being attuned to channel Reiki energy here is a good place to begin exploring http://www.solarraven.com/reikisplash.html.  There are also a couple of good sites that are stickied in this forum on the same subject.  

Anyone with the intent to receive Reiki can receive an attunement, although I am a firm believer that you can "attune" yourself, if an attunement is needed at all to surface healing abilities in any individual.  The pros of such practice are limitless while the only con that I can come up with at the moment is that of any energy work; much practice and dedication.

The idea behind receiving the attunements is to save time by having someone give you a push. It isn't something to think about, really. Either you decide to do it or you don't. The best way to know about attunements is to experience them and eventually to learn to give them.

There is a downside to getting attunements. Many (most?) attunements and initiations implant symbols in your aura. This does help channel energy. However at some point in your spiritual growth the symbols will hamper your ability to proceed. This is sometime in terms of throwing away a crutch and sometimes by actively being a block in your aura. Many time these symbols will stay in your aura from life to life and are a pain in the butt to get out.
