What I do is simply putting my right hand on my heart and my left hand on my stomach. After a while you should feel a difference.
Yes, you can have energy blockages within your body. Multiple blockages aren't uncommon.
I will send you some book references when I get home this evening. Very detailed pictures and discussions on the type of healing you wish to do. Most libraries will have to personal and/or the professional version (one is written for medical practioners and one is for self healing).
You can try body awareness through your whole body. It will feel similiar to what your doing now with NEW. You should be able to feel any major blockages as you work your way up or down. It can feel like a discontinuity, like a pinched garden hose that lets a little water through? Or even a break where you can't seem to smoothly feel from point A to Point B. This isn't really Chakra stimulation, that's something different. I'm talking going from toes to head over a few minutes of causual self examination [;)]
Light Emerging by Barbara Ann Brennan is the self healing book. Hands of Light is the technical version, and has the best pictures in it.

I suggest you to take care of your breathing.Bad breathing is the main reason for heart problems. And when the energy centre is blocked.I think
your troat chakra is also.
It is very similar to physcal heart.When your heart is brocken, it is difficult to speak for you.(Maybe because the troat chakra is also blocked temporary)

If you are doing the whole NEW body circuit, then this will be taking energy down through the chest and clearing blockages.
I often work on my lungs without stimulating the heart chakra. I do the NEW exercises (ripping, brushing, stirring etc.,) just avoiding the centre line of my chest. Afterwards I usually start coughing as my lungs clear.
I've had a major blockage between throat and heart chakra. After a year of using NEW it was just spontaneously cleared in one night. This was accompanied by a vivid dream, probably a past-life experience. After this night nearly all my problems with astma and allergy were gone, and during whole harvest i did not got even one astma attack, and before that night they occured every day.

I have a bad chest condition that I am trying to cure using NEW. I have read in many other places that illnesses are a result of energy blockages. So, I have been trying to find an energy blockage that could be causing my chest condition. I have been working on my hands and arms, feet and legs for some time now, but I have found no energy blockages there. Could there perhaps be any energy blockage within my chest? If there is, how can I safely work on my chest without stimulating my primary energy centres?
