lucky you. so what do you do with your "new" time[;)]?
i don't practice new, and i have very little energy right now so i can't really go around practicing with it (and therefore usually wasting it) much. even on internal things. but i found that when i did have lots of energy, i could go up to two days before needing to sleep. i loved it. but i was bored when i did it with nothing to really spend my time on [:P].

Yeah I don't do much with that time either. Basically, I just raise/store more energy while laying in bed. It's also nice to have some extra time to do my projects and homework.
Good to hear that this isn't *too* abnormal. I thought I was getting a touch of insomnia and would have to see a doctor or something.

kakkarot,
I would think that raising energy would give you more energy to play with. Certainly exercise and a decent amount of sleep does wonders.
Just doing awareness exercises increases energy flow.
Marker,
my guess is that it won't last. Most people need more than 4-5 hours of sleep. Sleep deprivation is great for initiating altered states, but it is much more difficult to control.

i find if i do any kind of energy raising before bed i can't sleep at all for at least a couple of hours. the same thing often happens if i practice trance or projection techniques...
I also awaken after doing Ki exercises before bed feeling extremely refreshed, like I got a couple more hours sleep than I actually did.
I have no idea if it lasts or not, but it certainly is useful when school starts at 7:30!
well, turtle, i guess practice would be the wrong word to describe what i do. more like training. :) and when i do training, it's pretty intensive.
gathering energy certainly gives me more energy to play with, but just raising it from your toes to your head does do anything for me but move it around. and the city i live in doesn't have much energy to gather. i hate it.
oh well.

Hey I just started the NEW system last week. I do it at night before going to sleep as well as other times during the day. I used to get/need 9-10 hours a night of sleep to feel fully rested. Since I've started doing NEW at night I've only been able to get 4-5, and then I wake up fully refreshed and ready to start my day. I was just wondering if anyone else had this side effect and whether it lasts.
