I'm very new to energy raising, but very interested in starting some long term dedication to it.
Ive been reading about the New Energy Ways from Robert Bruce's Astral Dynamics book. I haven't got as far in my exercises as raising energy into the sub naval storage center yet or stimulating chakras. I'm still working on using tactile imaging to stimulate the energy body and clear blockages.
I have been using Roberts stirring, brushing, and sponging techniques on my feet-legs, hands-arms for the past 9 days. The only energy sensations i have felt so far are very very mild in my thumbs and pointing fingers and a couple of times my left foot twitched. In the areas that it is working I'm not sure if it is really working or if I'm just imagining it.
Id greatly appreciate it if some experienced people can tell me about they're own sensations when they first started, like how strong they were, how long did it take for the sensations to happen, if they had any difficulties that they worked through, and maybe give me some guidance or tips.
Are my energy pathways blocked and i should i be patient and keep trying?
How long do you do energy exercises for a day?
I don't want to move onto further energy raising exercises until all my blockages are cleared and healthy.
Id greatly appreciate help from anyone that can help me.

I started meditation completely unguided, which I wouldn't recommend =D. I was in the wrong mindset, etc, so get guidance. Anywayz, my first big sensation was my body falling asleep, and then alot of pain around the whole body. It felt like my muscles were COMPLETELY tensed, but when i checked they were relaxed. It hurt a lot, and after about 10 minutes I decided it hurt too bad and snapped out of it. Since the first time i've meditated i've had only 1 other painful experience, but there's also some extremely scary sensations. Since I did not know what to expect at all, some of the stuff scared me beyond belief. I felt a lot of stuff, some which were extremely crazy/ridiculous/scary, theres so much to tell. All i can say is to try layin down in your bed in corpse pose, and just take deep breaths. don't expect anything to happen, just flow with what happens, and examine what MIGHT happen. It'll come to you, trust me.
When I first started I could barely feel any energy, working its way though my body, after week or 2, I kind had the hang of NEW, but it was really taking a long time to open the energy centers of the joints. It took a few months maybe even a year of on-and-of NEW before I could open the centers easily.
Things I learned that helped:
Keeping your energy up helps for the next session: I found that if I practices 3 times daily for 15 to 20 minutes it helped my energy centers open a lot faster, but if I slacked in the early stages, I had to build up by sensitivity and stores of energy again.
One problem that NEW used to give me was that it takes a whole lot of concentration to open energy centers enough to feel energy in the body. However if you have energy in your body the energy centers tend to open more quickly and at the very least they are easier to sense once energy has been directed to them. I found that doing yoga, tai-chi, or chi-kung or any practice which got the energy flowing in the body helped a lot for generating enough energy so that I could practice NEW properly.
I recommend doing yoga, or chi-kung, or tai-chi or some moving energy discipline at around sunset or sunrise then fallow it up with some NEW.
