Oh dear... staying up too late 'n tired..... just read that by clicking on logo link above I am cheating -- you should be directed to my website and a link from there..... Oh well .... Anyway I am too tired to do all that, and I don't really need an immortality device since I have Rawson's book.... so g'night y'all..... ;-P
I already have eternal life, just not my physical body. I personally would not want to live eternally on the physical plane and find it a rather dreadful thought. There are so many more place that are so much more wonderful that the physical. Why would anyone want to stay here?
The physical body in human form has its advantages, too. The taoist yogas suggest seeking perfect physical health and immortality in the physical body as ways of gaining time to seek enlightenment. Death bringing reincarnation also usually means having to start over without benefit of complete memories. Only the tendencies carry over, usually. Memories from previous lives can be harder to recall. Usually increasing the quantity of life involves increasing the quality as well.
The question then is really of reincarnation. If we all die and then are reincarnated then I would have to agree that prolonging the current life and keeping it healthy would be a good advantage. But if we are not reincarnated or if we can choose not to be then it is really not that great, unless you are just really enjoying your current life. But I do feel there is many other realms to be explored and learn from other than just the physical, though there are many things to learn here as well.
More thoeries and things with magnets in them. Next they'll say that laying in an MRI for 2 hours a week is good for you.
And just for those who don't know. An MRI is an advanced x-ray machine. It creates this insane magnetic field. The field is so strong that when charged it can wipe the data off of credit cards and such if you so much as open the door to the room and stand in the doorway.
At one of the building I worked at we had a room that we needed to get into but the people working in the MRI place usually but stuff in front of the door from the outside. SO I would have put down all my tools go through the MRI room to the other room, move the stuff, open the door. Go back and pick up all my stuff and go back outside. All this so I could spend 15 mins changing a filter and making sure fan coil was working. Pain in the but. If you ever do get something stuck to the inside of a MRI it has o be turned off in order for you to get it back. That US$30,000 I don't have.

Wow sounds strange Donni, talking about some weird concepts, I am having a bit or debate/correspondance at present concerning a russian mathematician/scientist that the earth & universe is flat, I'm looking forward to hearing more on that one!
Cainam, I have heard the bad stories about MRI's, CT's & X-rays & I hope they are not all true, as I have had to have 3 full body scans in the Magnetic Resonance Imager, it didn't feel any different to a CT scan, almost the same looking machine's too except the MRI is a bit bigger. I guess the people working in there, stand in a protected room for a good reason, is that why I glow at night? hehe. What sort of work is it you do Cainam?

I do maintenance. We are actualling called "Engineering". Just a fancy name. But all I can really think about is picking up the phone and saying "Engineering" like the guys on command and conqure. I have been wanting to do it to see how many people have played the games.
The MRI.
The only major problems that can happen come from equipment failures. If they were to have "sudden failure" of the equipment then it "could" be a problem. owever there are so many built in safties on those things it is next to impossible.
Now as far as radiation hazards. Being near the machines. You absorb more radiation from going out side than you do from being near an operable x-ray device. Safety distances and barriers are in place to limit 1) the amount of exposure for Techs. who are around it all the time. 2) to prevent accidental "direct" exposure. "direct" exposure is the only way for you to get abnormal levels of radiation in you.
For those who have had direct exposure, through accident, or through proceedure there is also very little to be afraid of. There are certain conditions that when exposed to radiation act adversly with the body but that is extremly rare and often detirminable prior to proceedure. The actual radiation recieved from the proceedure stays with in the body only a few hours. And is not normally enough to change any of the bodily functions. A person only becomes radioactive when exposed to extreamly high levels for long periods of time. Like which would be done during treatment. But even then it drops off with in a day or two after treatment stops.
You may have noticed these silly little badges that people around the MRI facility wear. They are usually hex or octogonal. They are a radiation meter or sorts. It is to detirmine exposure level. The reason being for 1) accidental direct exposure. Several times would cause the color of the badge to change. 2) being more so incase of leaks and such. I personally have never heard of any thing like that every happening.

Hey Cainam, funny you should ask, I've been playing command & conquer since the first Red Alert, then retaliation & another with similar name but I forget, that's on the playstation. On the PC I've been playing Red Alert 2 & Yuri's revenge for a few years on & off, well the red alert anyway. My PC isn't powerful enough to run the games so I use others computers when I can. I have a few mates that play it also & have pretty average rankings on the net, about RANK:2000 - 3000 out of up to 50000 to 60000 players.
That's reassuring info on the MRI's, just makes you wonder, well I did anyway, about the effects as I had 3 of those suckers on my spine, 5 CT scans & I lost count of the x- rays. I seem to lead a relatively healthy life, except for my injuries & allergies, hehe, almost a pun. So from what I know, there's no adverse effects so far, although my fiance & I are considering kids soon, that's another ball park alltogether I guess, hehe.

You can be perfectly healthy and still be a cluts.

My friend is a perfect example. She tends to have issues with gravity and, despite her being 24, still has not figured out exactly how the legs and feet work. And stationary objects.

Is your friend blond? Hehehe sorry I could not resist. No offense to anyone.
Haha, I'm glad you posted that.
Alex Chui is whack. He is laughed at all over the internet - his scowling serious face and downright-scary multi-colored flashing banners have won him the right to perhaps the most jabs at websites like theonion.com, satirewire.com, somethingawful.com, etc etc.
I used to read the page often solely for entertainment. :D

I found that banner from a site about a year ago, and.. well, I laughed for hours, then decided to get the device :p I put up a huge campaign to get the necessary banner clicks (Chiu is cunning, no room for cheating) and finally got them. Now I have two immortality rings :)
Dunno if they work, since my father took them.. he says he needs them more (which I agree). He used them for a week, said some pains and aches are gone, and then forgot where he put the rings. It was about six months ago, and I've lost all hope on finding the rings :( :)
I have this absolutely fascinating book in my collection about destroying sin, death and disease from 1899. I sometimes wonder whether the author is still alive and kicking. Anyone know a bloke called F.R. Rawson?
Anyone heard about this eternal luife device? The website is a scream, in the realms of the bonzai cat website, and reverse speech.....

Any comments appreciated..... LOL
