Blockages and loss of concentration

Two questions:

a)  What can cause an energy blockage to develop?
b)  I'm suddenly getting very tired (mentally, not physically) during my attempts to raise energy.  I can't keep my concentration like I used to.  Has anyone else had a similar experience?  What did you do to snap out of it?

What I do to overcome difficulties is increase my efforts and the consistency of practice. All effort seems to build momentum which will overcome just about anything.
