Nice Dream

I remember talking about saunas and have heard that they are good for you also but I did not get a reply about it.  What do you think about saunas they can also clean out your toxins I believe in a safer way.

Sil3nt

your body releases toxing when you fast? i should try this:) i think i should start tomm

Souljah333

26th day of fast/cleanse.
just beginning to add a few heavier items. had a half an apple for breakfast, and little hummus rolled in cabbage leaf for lunch, and yesterday had a bowl of brown rice porridge/soup type stuff.
oh...and some valentine chocolate!

it's hard to describe how good i feel physically, mentally, etc. haven't gotten through the whole cleanse as planned. should be doing the kidney cleanse now, which i'm not...so i'll be keeping my menu to an absolute minimum for at least another month (curbing off the fast, but continuing the cleanse in a more subtle/slower manner) i have hardly any interest in eating, which is great. no cravings, no urges. so i can be very thoughtful about what i'm putting in my body.

as i mentioned my roommate has not changed her diet, and the house is full of junk food, cake, ice cream, chips, etc...and it's all become very foreign looking to me now. i don't 'see' it as food, and it's not a temptation.

saunas are great, body scrubs are great, exercise & sweating is also, but fasting is special, and can be (should be) combined with other methods of detox. fasting for more than a week is a ritual experience that breaks addictions...as opposed to 30 mins of working out, or a 15 min sauna. these things are great if one is already in top condition, but for those that feel less then 80%...fasting is a really sound & effective solution.

anyway...just check in

how much weight did you lost, Souljah333?
"What are you doing here, Nasrudin? his neighbor asks. "I'm looking for a key which I lost
in the wood?" Nasrudin replies. "Why don't you look for it in the wood?" says the neighbor,
wondering at Nasrudin's folly. "Because there is much more light here"

Souljah333

ten lbs. roughly. but i'm in a very sedentary state...one bcuz it's cold & muddy outside, and 2 bcuz i've painting a lot. i SIT and paint from the time i wake up in the morning till i go to sleep at night. the only activity i've gotten in the last couple months is cleaning the house.

if it had been warmer out i would have added more physical activity for sure. you can shed a lot of weight in a very short amount of time w/ fasting. & it doesn't have to be high endurance, but regular stuff. a walk every night, or even just some yoga or a bike ride. when you fast...and start living off fat stores...that 'furnace' can be kicked into high gear easily. you're body really gets off on that too. not only does it feel that it's actually accomplishing something it was made to do, but it's decreasing the toxic loads in massive quantity. a win/win situation.

i'm having a problem with food in general. my body isn't going for it. not that it's anything bad. i have thrown up a few times, but that was stupidity on my part. too rich, or too heavy. bread is a definite no, and dairy isn't that great either. it's important during this phase i'm in...to "listen" closely to what my body's saying. it's saying a lot by the way
basically that eat to live thing...not live to eat.

I think fasting could have a great effect on projections, or rather, eating as often as we do has a negative effect.

I woke up the yesterday in a very interesting mood.  For once in a long time, I had a sense of focus - my mind didn't wander between useless routine thoughts or fall into depression.  The difference, I noticed, is how hungry I felt. When I went to the refrigerator to get something to eat, I already felt myself falling back into the useless unfocussed state of mind I hit every morning, so I refused to eat anything.  You know that dreamish state you're in when you first wake up?  Like you have a sense of purpose?  I never lost that state throughout the day.  It actually worked.

Digestion uses a lot of energy, and shouldn't be thought of as a passive process that has no effect on your mind.  I think a major reason we have dreams toward the end of sleep is because digestion is over and you have enough energy to ease into awareness, likewise I think it's why people can astral-project more easily in the morning.

It's not that fasting gives us 'extra' energy and awareness, it's that digestion puts a damper on it.  We're normally in a constant state of digesting because we feel hungry every time the stomach empties.  We're perpetually more groggy than we should be.  Food gives us energy, but that energy goes to waste if you're spending it all digesting more food.

Though, I'd say its just as negative to go all-out and see how long you can go without food.  I think one should just keep in mind, before eating, that digestion cuts down on your energy and consciousness.

Wish I could do that. I certainly feel better when I'm empty, but then I feel very weak and almost faint. Any advices on how not to faint, or what to do when I feel like fainting?

just water and juice.

That's usually due to hypoglycemia... The best way to prevent fainting would be to eat a sugar cube whenever signs of weakness show... This usually happens if you have a low amount of body fat, but if that's not the case, you might want to see a doctor -- you never know.

Also... Juice when fasting? Hmm... While juice is good for you, you'll get terrible stomach burns if you don't take in any solids with it...

EDIT: I mean acid reflux, not actual burns

Yeah, I've been going to the doctor, no sugar related problem. I'll do that then.

Well, I might have been fasting for almost 20 hours. I think it was passion fruit juice. I felt fine during all the day but when I went to bed I felt very very weak and almost fainted many times.

Now thinking, I guess it was exhaustion, I was awake for more than 20 hours, fasting, and been wrestling for fun, it's the recipe for a breakdown

And it's not like you have to drop eating entirely.  I just have something small to eat whenever my stomach acid starts acting up.  You could also stick to non-solid foods, which are about the same as juice.

What's interrupting people's energy patterns is when they eat every time hunger springs up, or when someone eats till they're full instead of eating just enough to ease their stomach.  Both are caused by instincts that are counter-productive if followed blindly.

AndrewTheSinger

Hmm, yes, thanks, it takes some discipline, I'll give it a go
