Title: Find it hard to concentrate
Post by: Tia on June 18, 2002, 04:12:34
Yes, it can be annoying, and painful sometimes, but when you know you are clearing blockages and making yourself stronger, you welcome the feelings.  It's all energy movement.  You will get a lot of different sensations that aren't mentioned in the book, take it as a sign of progress - keep going, it's all good.

This is good news :P
Yes, you are right, it is extremely irritating, like last night, i was doing a full energy cycle, and as i pulled energy from my feet, the almost pain that was felt in my right foot, which is strange as it is normally my left, i think i didn't stimulate my left foot properly.  But anyways, yeah, as i drew up energy it was hurting, i had to curl up my foot to stop the sensatins.  It's good to know it will go over time, that's for sure!

Thanks :P

Energetic growing pains. Heh. The other night, I felt a stab of pain in the back of my neck, like a pin prick, and it made me jerk, which was very distracting, and I've been doing energy work for some time now. It's all part of the territory.

I couldnt even sleep well. When I first started my legs hurt.It made it really hard to be comfortable in any position.Especially around my ankles they felt as if they were going to burst.I still get these feelings sometimes. Its like when I am in a great mood,my energy body fills up all on its own.And if I think of more things that I like. And eventually that feeling will slowly rise to my head.At this point I feel like im going to float up with my real body and all.I also get crazy twitches sometimes.Something weird is my girlfriend sleep on the side. She gets twitchy when im like this too, while shes sleepin.

Self-hypnosis can be used for suppressing pain. It is not suggested to do so when the cause of the pain is not known because that can lead to not getting the proper medical attention if it is needed. Pain caused by energy work, though, especially if it is interfering with sleep, is probably another matter. I haven't had much experience with self-hypnosis, so this is an uninformed opinion. If you don't want to suppress the sensations because of concern with interfering with the process, it is still possible to make it seem more distant or at a lower amplitude.

Just something to experiment with:

Go inside the pain, focus on it, inhabit it. Don't shy away from it. When I do this for physical pain, most of the time there turns out to be nothing there, and it soon evaporates.

Cool, i will try that as well, i have found i am not getting my pains any more.
I still get a slightly uncomfortable feeling when i move my body awareness on the bottom of my feet a few times..

After that, all systems clear.  I can just draw it up.
I usually draw it up in chunks.
But the other day,.i was actually able to stream it up and into my sub-naval, it was so cool!

But i haven't been able to do it since...

oh well, keep trying, i am definatly making improvement..

Good luck all

A couple of years ago I used to get this strange cramp in my back every time I tried to induce trance. I was like someone digging his knuckle in the muscle beside the spine and caussed me to actually jump. It always aborted the trance state. I quit and have only recently started trance/energy work again due to some phenomena that I've interpreted as "Oi! Get off yer butt and back to practise"
Right now I'm getting a sensation like when you sit on a hard chair and your leg goes to sleep and all prickly both in my legs and my hands.

If there are areas which are overly quick to respond to stimulation and areas which are stubbornly failing to respond, have you considered ignoring the areas which are overly sensitive until the other areas begin to respond? It just occurs to me that it is like saying "It only hurts when I do this." and continuing to do it. The painful area could be just getting over-worked.

Sensations resembling loss of circulation might actually be caused by a lack of circulation. Using pillows or cushions of some sort to pad the affected areas could help. As the muscles relax these things can happen.

Last night my right eye kept twitching painfully. The odd thing was that I was not directly working with it or on anywhere near it.

Tom: The thing is I wasn't concentrating anywhere near my back. I'd get a tingly/numb sensation in my legs and arms and then my back would suddenly spasm. And I couldn't ignore it because it was quite string causing me to jerk upwards.
I believe it was a strong block that got activated when the energy flowing in my arms and legs tried to find a path to form a circuit.

It is one of the reasons why I am still willing to consider that the meridians and acupuncture points are valid. If you activate a meridian at one point it affects all the others. I'm not familiar with charts of how they run, but you might be able to look up a meridian or two that involve the affected areas. That could help provide information into the causes.

Tom: Last night I managed to briefly reach a full trance without feeling anything more than sporadic and gentle twitches around my body.  The back muscle spasm seems to be gone and has been replaced by a slightly painful spot in my right elbow.

I think the meridians are absolutely real. What they are is anybodys guess, nerves, energy paths...  Some major ones run throught the area where the spasm used to occur so an energy blobk could explain the experience.

I have been working my way through Robert's book.  I am doing the energy exercises at present.
I want to describe a feeling i get in my foot, because he didn't really mention it as a feeling you get when you are stimulating parts of the body.

You know that feeling when you are really really tired and you feet just get all twitchy, and you have to keep moving them all the time to stop them getting on your nerves?

That is what i get in my feet when i do the feet work.
My right takes a while to activate.  My left foot, well, all i have to do is swirl my awareness on my undersides of my foot a couple of times and i can feel a reaction.  I can put up with the feeling in my feet, but it is incredibly annoying.

Has anyone else had this kind of sensation?

Thanks!
