Congrats!

Good call not pushing the issue with stuck feet.  So stroke those toes next time and your outta there!
There is a physical limitation upon how much light a human body can sustain. Interestingly, there is no limit on how much light a human vessel can generate. When fully enlightened you must instill your light in order to maintain its wisdom.

-I've been working off and on with NEW and occasional attempts at OBE, to no avail.  I think I will be better off following your example of working more on meditation for a good period of time before I resume attempting the others....Likewise I have a hard time quieting the mind.  Congratulations by the way. I've been having OBEs for about a year now.  They generally happen just as I'm waking up out of an afternoon nap.  I've learned to recognise the 'symptoms' while I'm waking up, but I still haven't managed to have a conscious one - until now!

Every night for the past 9 months whilst dropping off to sleep, I'd tried to catch myself before sleep, but every night I've failed.

I began meditating about 2 weeks ago.  I wanted to practice getting rid of the surface thoughts before I started on NEW.  Yesterday, I thought I was ready, so I commenced NEW. I'd played around with the mobile body awareness ages ago, so I was quite good at that.  All I did yesterday was stimulate the secondary chakras in the thumbs and stroke my legs with my awareness hands.  Even after only a few minutes, I felt tingles in my legs and my thumbs.

After about 30 minutes, I finished my meditation session.

Last night, as is usual, I was watching myself fall asleep.  I'd gone to bed early (due to tiredness) but my mentality felt vibrant, for some reason.  About an hour later, I entered a different 'zone'.  In this zone, I couldn't feel my body at all, although I was still aware of it, and my clarity of mind was immense.  I've only ever experienced it once before, and that was 'coming up' on drugs.  It was wonderful.  This clarity stayed for a few minutes and then I was back to my normal self.

To get to the point (sorry for rambling), I managed to catch myself falling to sleep and retained awareness.  I saw the room behind my closed eyes, I tried to go through a window (which didn't work), I pulled my astral arm out and looked at it.  I became about 85% astral (my feet still felt very physical, so I didn't attempt to get out of my physical body - I was perfectly happy just lay there enjoying the experience).  I sat up astrally at one point.

All these things have become almost second nature to me during my spontaneous OBEs.  However, this time, I didn't go to sleep in the first place - I was awake for the whole experience!

It has taken me about 9 months to reach this stage and I wonder if NEW has got a lot to do with it (I think it has psychologically, at the very least).

I am of the opinion that NEW will benefit me, so I was expecting to feel something, but I wasn't quite prepared to have my first conscious OBE so soon!

Just wanted to share my progress!

And now, here is how I really really feel about last night's experience:

Yippee!
