Title: Hyperventilation
Post by: Moonburn33 on June 20, 2004, 19:38:32
there is a yoga practice called "billows breath" or something like that.  it involves the same process you described- only slightly different in the order of breaths, retention etc.  the concept is the same though.  however, being lightheaded is not something to do on a regular basis.  it alters the PH in your blood and can cause negative side effects, when done over long periods of time.

The Kahuna's of Hawaii advocated hyperventialtion as a way of generating energy usefull in many magical/self-developmental processes.
I tried it in self-suggestion for changing behaviour--it works.

Read stuff by Max Freedom Long on "Huna", the last KNOWN magical system.

I hyperventilated once and it wasn't pretty..

My hands clinched into claws and electric shocks were shooting through my chest.  Scared the ummmmmm..dookie out of me, not to mention the police officer that pulled my husband over for speeding, on the way to the hospital [:P] He took one look at me and said.."move on".

I felt like a big dork when they handed me a paper bag to breath in....worked almost immediately...[:I]  I still say it was weird to have shocks going through my chest, but atlas years later I'm still here.

I know about huna. In all the huna books I read it is recomended to breathe slowly and deeply. That is how I usualy generate extra energy.

Originaly I exerianced symptoms somewhat like Nay did. Now I worked it out, I still take a lot of air in but I dont hyperventylate. Now all I feel is a slight tension in my body, just enough to tell me that something is happening but not enough to destract me from gathering energy.

Breathing is a way to tap your own energy. You take in air, the oxygen is taken threw the bloodstream to your cells where it is burned in chemical processes with sugers and fats and energy is created.
Also the more you practice gathering energy the better you get at it. I used the pendulum method to mesure how much energy I have. During the last few weeks I noticed that I no longer mesure energy in units I mesure it in 1000s of units [:D]

The mind is composed of 3 parts. Concious, subconcius and the higer-self (or superconcious).
According to Huna it is the subconcius that gathers energy, all that the concious has to do is focus on the intent of gathering energy. The pendulum is a tool which the concious uses to directly comunicate with the subconcious. You simply decide that your normal lvl of energy is 100 units (100%) and then you decide that each full circular move to the right with the pendulum is a unit or 10 units or whatever you want. Then you ask the subconcious how much energy you have and simply count the circles.

Correction

This has NOTHING to do with hyperventilating. When
you hyperventilate you breathe very shallow. When you do
this exercise you use your whole lungs to do it. Big difference.

This exercise increases the O2 and CO2 concentration in your
blood making the slag substances in your body move too. This is
why you should drink lots of water after doing this to help
purify the body.

In kundalini yoga this is called Breath of Fire. You can probaly
google for more information about it.

I was doing some energy work (not NEW, the exercise was similar to the "pillar of light" method) but this time I decided to hyperventilate, get more oxygen into the system which in turn would awaken the body and allow it to produce more energy (energy can be gathered from the outside but I find it, that obtaining it from my own body is a lot quicker). My hyperventilation wasnt shallow it was a quick full breath filling whole lungs in under a second, then I held the air for about 2 seconds and exhale in 4 seconds. After doing this few times I fellt a whiteout coming on (its when your brain gets too much oxygen, its the oposite of blackout - i think)
With that state a feeling of happynes appeared (like a poor mans high). My question is:
Is quick deep breathing better for gathering energy and energy body development? Or is this state of happynes and lighthededness coused by too much oxygen a distruction and actualy slows down the develpment?
