I have been doing a lot of research on the light body and what it means.  The light body as it is, is related to immortality, even though a lot of people don't see it that way.

This body has gone by many names, the light body, rainbow light body, the resurrected body, and the diamond body etc...

These are just some of the names of this highest spiritual attainment.  There are supposedly 2 ways in which this immortal light body manifests.

The first way is that way that most people are accustomed to, the resurrected body.  This was displayed by master Yeshua or Jesus.  With all of his suffering, his karma was purified or distilled, and upon soon after his death his body transfigured into the resurrected body, made of divine flesh.  He was one of the first of men to attain this grain accomplishment.

Buddha also was transcribed in this manner.  But the prophet enoch was supposedly transcribed while he was alive, without descending or dying first.  supposedly Elijah accomplished the same thing.

Even in Taoist practice they speak of a great attainment of an immortal body, or the diamond body.  The Buddhists call is the rainbow light body, even the Hindu speak of an immortal Babaji, whom is made of divine light, and is immortal.

Is this what immortality is, a transcription from the physical to the divine?  Even Taoist practice which emphasizes immortality say that immortality is not immortal in a regular physical body, but a body of pure Chi.  Just in alchemy we transmute from something lower to something higher

You need to ask that of one who has accomplished the great feat!

If you were able to consciously use the forces that create and sustain a physical body, then you might assume that you could maintain a physical body as long as you found the the need to do so.

I should add, that nothing remains static.  Change and motion are the basic rules of nature.  All matter would appear to be in motion.  An immortal physical body may be possible, but is it necessary, if a person consciousness is focused in a different energy level vehicle?

Edit: immortality is a very loose term lol

Aging is a deterioration of your phisical body right? If thats so, then put all your effert into making your body continue to produce new cells and such, thus you would never age.

Eternel life on the other hand is impossible. How would you stop something from killing your physical body? You cant stop a car hitting you at 60MPH, you cant stop a bullet from going through your heart, you cant stop the sun from going super nova.

Why would you want eternal life anyway?! *shivers* I wouldn't wish that on anyone
Dont look at the world around you with your eyes, use your soul, and you will see more then you have ever imagined.

Ascensionists speak of this.

The basic idea that once one becomes a "master" the relationships between energy and matter become fully realised and one can then ascend from a material existance to a higher vibrational existance of pure energy.

Consider though that our soul or spirit (depending on which term you're comfortable with) is already pure energy and is already immortal. It's only the biological machine that we call our physical body that wears out.

One thought about that also, is that our physical bodies were apparently originally designed to not only be self repairing, but self regenerating. Its only through our self imposed envorinmental conditions and the way we've come to treat our own bodies that we've inhibited its ability to be fully regenerative.

Blessings,
James.

I am only familiar with this concept through Gnostic theology. It refers to Alchemical Birth.

The solar body is a real tangible form created on the Path of the Razor's Edge through a process of self-observation, conscious realization of separateness of the consciousness from the mind, conscious realization of separateness of the consciousness from the ego, and the continued focus of maintaining a state of conscious vigilance (the still mind). This is to allow the consciousness, the actual being, to act and react consciously instead of mechanically. This state alleviates suffers brought on by the ego and allows for an objective unclouded perception of reality because the consciousness does not fear, hate, crave, etc... The purpose is to equilibrate the sexual, instinctual, motor, emotional, and intellectual centers. This in turn balances the energy centers (chakra). Once a person reaches Equilibrium and can experience superior emotions that are a quality of conscious they can Love others. This is not the psychological attachment mixed with lust that we typically refer to as love. Practicing the sexual alchemy (white tantra) with a partner that you Love will transmute the sexual energy and awaken the Devi Kundalini.

Once the kundalini has ascended all 33 degrees/vertebrae of the physical body that Initiate has mastered the element of earth/matter

Once the kundalini has ascended all 33 degrees/vertebrae of the vital body that Initiate has mastered the element of water/sex

Once the kundalini has ascended all 33 degrees/vertebrae of the astral body the Initiate has mastered the element of fire/emotion. Having created the solar astral body, a real body, as opposed to a protoplasmic shell without definitive constitution that most people possess a person is free from the wheel of Samsara because they can live in the astral permanently. But that is hardly the "highest spiritual attainment".

You still have mental kundalini to rise in order to master the element of air/intellect. I believe at that point you can create the causal body for the causal plane and incarnate the Human Soul. At that point one has full knowledge and understanding of all your experiences through all your terrestrial existences from mineral, plant, animal, and all human lives. The whole process correlates to the riddle of the sphinx.

At that point one is referred to as a Master.

I Am

Yes indeed that is what I am talking about, the solar body as it is known in the gnostic practice.  Making the process of reincarnation obsolete, to create a heavenly body, to be a true immortal master.

The yogi Yogananda spoke about an immortal named Babaji.  This state is achievable, because it appears in just about every great religion, just under different names.

In the Judeo-Christian tradition, it is called "the resurrection body " and "the glorified body." The prophet Isaiah said, "The dead shall live, their bodies shall rise" (Isa. 26:19). St. Paul called it "the celestial body" or "spiritual body " (soma pneumatikon) (I Corinthians 15:40).

In Sufism it is called "the most sacred body " (wujud al-aqdas) and "supracelestial body " (#### asli haqiqi).

In Taoism, it is called "the diamond body," and those who have attained it are called "the immortals" and "the cloudwalkers."

In Tibetan Buddhism it is called "the rainbow body."

In Tantrism and some schools of yoga, it is called "the vajra body," "the adamantine body," and "the divine body."

In Kriya yoga it is called "the body of bliss."

In Vedanta it is called "the superconductive body."

In Gnosticism and Neoplatonism, it is called "the radiant body or solar body."

In the alchemical tradition, the Emerald Tablet calls it "the Glory of the Whole Universe" and "the golden body." The alchemist Paracelsus called it "the astral body."

In the Hermetic Corpus, it is called "the immortal body " (soma athanaton).

In some mystery schools, it is called "the solar body."

In Rosicrucianism, it is called "the diamond body of the temple of God."

In ancient Egypt it was called "the luminous body or being"

In Old Persia it was called "the indwelling divine potential" (fravashi or fravarti).

In the Mithraic liturgy it was called "the perfect body " (soma teilion).

In the philosophy of Sri Aurobindo, it is called "the divine body," composed of supramental substance.

In the philosophy of Teilhard de Chardin, it is called "the ultrahuman."

This state of physical enlightenment must exist, because it occurs in like I said just about every belief system.
