It sounds like you have just increased your awareness of your surroundings allowing you to perceive and react to them better.
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

If you meditate regularly the increased ability to concentrate is probably one cause behind the phenomenon.
You're able to concentrate full on th erelevant events in your surroundings and that's why everything else seems to slow down and become irrelevant. But thats just paraphrasing what fallnangel said [8D]

Well i can try that but i have a post i think two down talking of what else i can do and stated in that post the same thing happens here when ever things do aper to slow my thumbs burn very badddly do you have any idea why

jilola

It's possible that while the slowing down phenomenon happens your energy body gets activated to a degree and some blockages in your thumbs act up.
Check out the NEW method in the files section to learn how to excersize(sp?) the energy body and remove the blockages.

Yes, the suggestions in the reply's are all possible, but here comes my theory.. I'm not saying I know this for sure..

If you drop a vase or whatever, it may seem it's falling down and breaking apart in slow-motion. This is, according to my Biology teacher, due to an increase of Adrenaline in your body; everything around you seems to go slower, like time is stopping, but in fact it's you going faster. I heard somewhere on the net that somebody named this Lentation (no, not Levitation, but Lentation.) As far as I'm aware of, it's possible to learn how to control it. There even is a martial arts that is build on this - if anybody knows the name, please tell me, I forgat. I'll have to look up the site where I read this all; I'll post it when I'll find it.

Nayru, you are right, it is called Lentation. In scientific terms in this the production of Adrenalin increases which thus increases the flow of impulses through neurons more than 30%(The percent increase actually depends on increase in Adrenalin). Thus our body reacts faster to the surroundings. It will seem to us that we are still the same and the surroundings are slow. To the surrounding it will seem as if they are normal and we are fast. This is the same technique Neo uses in Matrix to dodge bullets.

The article of Lentation is given in http://www.veritasonline.net

There was a really good topic on this a few months ago. What it was is your reaction time increased so much, that you percieved things like they were moveing slow, compared to how you were seeing them. From a different point of view, within the same time frame, another person would be seeing you move *increadibly* fast, because thier reaction time was slower than yours at that point. With a faster reaction time a person can notice things a lot faster than they otherwise would be able to, and go figure, they would be able to react to thier body movements faster that otherwise.

Lentation is a method of being able to increase this reaction time at will, although it is rather draining to constantly do. But i've also come up with a method of my own, that has similar effect compared to lentation, with being able to increase my reaction time, reflexes, and overall thinking ability, But it takes a lotof focus and you have to be ready to do it, or else it's a large waste of concentration and focused energy.

{there... i just brought back the topic, so everyone who is interested can re read it all... topic name... Lentation}
If someone has the knowledge, and wants to do something, how far do you think they can go, if they lack the experience, and are unable to sustain the amount of effort needed to succeed?  ~ Self 2/25/2003

I was just wondering i can slow things around me down but i still move at the same speed for example i was playing baseball the first time this happened i was pitching and my friend hit a line drive right at me the ball was going very slow like 2 mph but i could steep out of the way once i was out of the way the ball started going very fast but this all took place in a time span of about 10 sec but i can now a year later almost control that ability dose anyone else ever heard of this and if you have do you know the name of it becuse i would like to research it a bit more
