Hello!

Ive been wondering this, are Kundalini and Chi the same thing?
Because when i meditate my Chi flows around in my body, and then i start thinking "What does all those people mean when they say: "Awaking the kundalini"?"

I mean, if they are the same thing, how can ones chi flow around when one hasn“t awakened the Kundalini? (Hehe i like saying "one")

Thanks!

Cya

Kundalini is a snake, symbolizing our ego. When it awakens, you are able to use your full capacity without being bothered by your own ego.

Chi is a whole different story. Chi is you. Your nature. A very simple example is the woman that got robbed in a store. She suddenly walked at the guy and started punchin n screamin an got rid of the robber. Where do you think she got the power? She just grabbed all she had. All of herself, all of here chi.
Chi is not sum stuff that just floats around places, that is other energy. When you hold chi in your hands, you hold yourself in your hands, that is also the only way to move and develop chi, by being it. Thus by being your true self. Don't go looking for some energy, cause it's allready there.

It's not always true, Kundalini more frequently drives people insane or damages their spinal cords....
A few days ago I've experienced start of kundalini rainsing. You don't even know how afraid I was...

Tro-flow, thanks for the reply, i now have a better vision of the both.

Ehm...Why doeas people train to awaken their kundalini? If it drives them to insanity?

nah, chill out, clear the pathway, lead it through sushumna and enjoy warm in winter nights (now, where the hell is the snow around here  :?)

well, it gets you further the path of evolution, you cannot ascend without it
as for the rest, well, ego stakes

Huh? What do you mean?

you have 3 channels
ida (left one, cooling), pingala (right one, heating), sushumna - main channel, conducts more energy (so it doesn't shoot so violently, and doesn't coil when directed properly)

side channels start with feet (in my case), main from base chakra

if you start to overheat simply direct it through ida, and voilla (now, if you have ida blocked, you're bonked, proper bonked)

Could you explain if these three are kundalini channels? If it is so, then which one goes upwards and which downwards?

Okay so theese channels what do they do?

Chi and kundalini are definitely connected. As far as I know, there are 3 parts to kundalini.
1st is the regular energy you feel around you- the same energy that you feel when using NEW. This, I believe, is also what chi is.
2nd is the more concentrated energy that will charge through your spine.
3rd is what you might call the true kundalini, which is a force that, in shape, is very much like a snake. The serpent energy emerges from the base of your spine, and wraps itself around your spine as it ascends

yes
both ways, from my experience

You

Kundalini apparently opens power, which if done wrong or unnaturally can lead to mental imbalance.

Obviously people who do it care more about power than mental stability or have confidence in their mental stability and control (I'd be the latter, but I'm still careful).

tro-flow

I see it this way.. Chi is you, your focus or will, and you when focus on kundalini, you have connection, you passively focus your chi on kundalini.

I might need to clear this up though.
Ik believe that chi is you because when you give something attention, when you focus one something, you give it energy. Now what energy would this concentration be? As i can see auras I can see that it has no color.

This would make sense. It is hard for me to explain this, i'm dutch. I don't the exact words, but i'll try.

First of all we have 7 types of energy, colored like the rainbow, red, orange, yellow, green, lightblue, darkblue and purple. Like in a real rainbow there is a eightth color, white or 'no color'. According to physics, white contains al 7 colors.  Yet light must be shone upon it to create the colors.
I say WE are the lights. We are our won endless energy source, that's why I think we are chi. And so to expand you consiousness is to expand your chi and to move it is to move yourself.

According to some strange kind of new age physics probably. For human eye three frequencies of light are enough: red, green and blue. All colors that can be recognized by human eye can be made from these.

tro-flow

ok thats fine with me, i learned it this way, shine white light through a prism and you will see all colors. Just like water and the sun.

In order to use chi, u must use the 1st chakra to relax, the 2nd for the energy, the 3rd for the will, the 4th is where u do it from, the 5th makes the commandment, the 6th coordinates the place and the 7th contains the knowledge needed.

Using all 7 chakra's creates pure chi. U might disagree but it certainly is much like the way we do a lot of stuff.

Is chi and ki the same thing?

tro-flow

chi is the chinese word, ki the japanese, qi the korean, prana the sanskrit word for universal energy

There are also 3 aspects to the internal cosmology of chinese internal arts that should be expressed to support the nature of chi it's proper context.

Chi

By the way 'Kundalini' is our Heaven essence just like 'Jing' is our Earth essence.
They are all interconnected with each other yes, Kundalini does not drive people insane, it purifies the body from all trauma, that is why people experience strange things when working with it.

Kundalini is the term from Raja Yoga. Chi is not in the Raja Yoga system; prana is the term used with kundalini. The kundalini is almost completely domant in most people and is symbolized by a snake coiled 3 1/2 times at the base of the spine. She is not an actual snake, physically or energetically. Because she is not completely inactive, she radiates out prana, the energy which sustains the nadis and chakras. It is possible to have all sorts of wonderful energy sensations without kundalini being fully active, but in the end kundalini will have to be fully activated.

You

I always hear about all the dangers... but has anyone an actual scientifically analyzed instance of someone's spine being inexplicably damaged through practicing kundalini techniques?

Couldn't it just be from clenching your butt too much?

Why is the energy coiled 3 1/2 times?  Like is that to counterbalance something?
I think I need a few more coils in my spring...like some at all.  :(
