What's the difference between Kundalini and a fully functional and activated energetic system? Is Kundalini necessary for a beings spiritual ascension? I was talking to a guy who runs group meditation and his group meetings work with energy centres, but they seem to focus entirely on the crown and heart. I thought that it might be a good idea to get the lower energy centres into full activation first. He said that they already are. So yeah, just wondering what anyone had to say about that. Oh yeah, and what would be the general English translation of Kundalini? Like instead of using the word Chi; energy, Kundalini; ? I heard it means something like "uncoiling of the sleeping serpent", but not sure. Just curious. Thanks people!

I think ascension is a natural thing that we are all doing, over many, many lifetimes. Raising Kundalini up through the chakras is part of the ascension process, at least in my mind, as it opens us up to many things about our true nature as Spirit. For example, it open us to the immense power within us, and also raises our vibrationary rate so that we become more aware of our own higher awareness levels.. astral and beyond.
Unfortunately, there are strings attached to raising the kundalini through our higher chakras. One is an acute Responsibility to use the Power effectively. Another is the intensity of the Power we feel and the fact that we then must learn to control it so that it does not control us... so the dragon does not consume us, so to speak.
You'll hear about the Oneness experience of raising Kundalini to the Brow or Crown chakras, which is the process of uncoiling the sleeping serpent (dragon) within. And it is this process of en-lightening ourself that brings about what we have come to call Enlightenment.
And, Enlightenment isn't like a trophy you earn. It's different for those of us in western cultures living normal lives, compared to those in the eastern religions. We aren't always enlightened from the moment of the enlightening experience, we are only changed within. And it is then up to each of us to choose how to use and work with it
At least we then become aware of Our-Self (higher self) and come to Remember what we really are and what has brought us to this moment. What you do with it is up to you.
Love always
Cool. What about the methods of this guy who focuses on developing the crown and heart energy centres and neglecting the first three from the base? Is that a safe or effective method of energy development?
It depends on how YOUR energy system is functioning. Maybe you should ask them why they choose to develop the crown & heart chakras.
Developing the higher centers more than the lower ones can make you feel ungrounded. You have to be the master of your system and decide what's best for you.
I did. Because he says they're already fully active. Not in me, but in general.
I think it's best to develop the energy centers as a whole system, they are strongly connected. Doesn't sound like a good idea to me to neglect some, but maybe if you're advanced enough you can focus on just some centers.
I am for now in the state where I try to balance my whole system. Maybe in the future I will concentrate on specific chakras...
But as alpine9 says, you need to be the master of your system, so true.
Follow your intuition and trust it.
Take care, Christian
Hey there,
For the past 6 months, I have been part of a Chakra clearing experiment that gradually raises the Kundalini. A friend of mine has created a system using pure tones that you listen to during meditation and it has taken me about 6 months and my chakras are almost fully developed at this point, I have to only finish the Brow where I'm at 85% developed right now and my Crown which is developing on its own and is about 60% developed right now.
There are 2 programs and the friend who developed the program has about a dozen "piglets" (another word for guinea pigs) who have been part of the program. I and another woman are the closest to being finished with the development program and are about ready for the next phase.
With the program, first we all went through a chakra clearing program which got rid of many blocks... then we graduated to the chakra development program. It is tough work because it is a way of asking the Universe to throw all of your blocks in your face so you can deal with them and it gets messy at times but my awareness has greatly increased over the past 6 months.
There is an online yahoogroup where we talk about the spiritual development program and I will be happy to direct anyone to my friend if they would like to participate in the program. I have no idea what my friend would charge at this point because it is a lot of work for him to monitor the people who are doing the program because "blow ups" meaning emotional blow ups, not Kundalini brain frying are common. It is a very controlled method of raising the Kundalini and looking back on it, I feel it is worth a lot more than the $75.00 I paid for my CD's. Just the care taken by the guy running the progrm is worth at least 5 times that amount.
If you are a true spiritual seeker and are not afraid to be the person you were born to be, it may be a good tool for you.

btw, this program works from the root all the way up. If you just focus on the Brow and Crown, you neglect the rest of your energy body and you will be unbalanced.
