it's a way to improve your speed by bringing up your adrenalin level [:D]

Rennie

yes ok but how do i train[?]

auraseer

Hi,
Yes, I would also like to learn this. There is a pdf file on http://www.veritasonline.net , but when I read it, all i see is bullet-dots instead of words. Im downloading the very latest update to Acrobat reader, see if that helps.

Cya,
James.

Tom

The pdf file was not there when I went to get it. Looking around on the web to see what it was seemed to indicate that it was either a way to speed up the processing of information in the nervous system or a way of adjusting the experience of time (everything around you looks slow, but to an outside observer you are moving very fast). Techniques for doing either do not seem to be readily available. Silencing the internal dialogue and raising energy sometimes creates a similar effect for me, but never intentionally and the surprise causes thinking to start up again.

Squeek

Bah

I told auraseer not to tell everyone...o well

The pdf's downloaded and ran just fine for me, and I began yesterday.  If anyone is actually considering this, one thing you're going to need to keep in mind is this is a commitment.  It will take a good 3 months of training MINIMUM to achieve controllable lentation.  The first 7 hours is just a form of meditation...  That's where I'm at.  I don't have a boatload of time, but I'm gonna try my best to get an hour and a half in daily.

When you are into the actual lentation training, you have to disregard your energy work. Lentation will practically drain you of your energy, so doing energy work would lead to burnout.  So you have to give that up too.

If you're like me and energy work didn't seem like it was working anyways, you may wanna check out veritas.  They have some info on other things, too.  Such as my favorite kinesis, cryokinesis [8D]

So. To sum it up.  Lentation isn't an easy thing to learn.  You have to give up energy work in order to learn it.

that's all for now.

"The only file on Lentation on the entire internet, written by the inventor." lol. i've looked at the file a bit and guess what: i've been doing this kind of thing for a while now. he certainly isn't "the inventor"; he may be the first person to write about it, but to claim to have invented it? oi vey. but anyway.

lentation, as this guy describes it, is one of the side effects that occurs when i tense my mind, body, and spirit for combat. also, readying myself for combat allows my brain to process information many times faster than what it normally can, allows my body to spring into action faster than i otherwise could, and allows me to use energy with far greater ease and to far greater effect. and that's only the stuff that happens with regards to "lentation".

getting "combat ready" also gives me quick versions of psychic knowledge when it comes to my immediate surroundings. ie, when i was sparring with my best friend for the first time and using this, i could "see" a kick that he made to my back (i totally outmatched him, too). not only that, it gave me a much more intense understanding of exactly where my best friend was going to attack and exactly what he was going to do. that was the fight where he kicked at me and i blocked, connecting my shin with his shin and he felt like his might be broken whereas i barely felt any pain at all.

but whatever. i know that it is a really useful ability, if you don't mind the "burn-out" that comes from using it too long. [|)] but then again, it really isn't useful for the peace-orientated societies that most of us live in. now, if war came...

Hi,
Yes, as Squeek said, it is a big commitment.

I think ive figured out why it wasnt working. I still have the old version of Acrobat Reader. The new one is on 16%...and as soon as I read it ill start training with it.

And Squeek...I didnt tell everyone. It was already on veritas. Somebody else would of eventually said it, if it wasnt me.

And kakkarot is right. He is not the inventor. It was already possible, he just found it out.

Cya,
James.
P.S kakkarot, are you ever gonna change your quote [:P].

Squeek

Hi again peeps...

If you are just starting to practice / train for this, you may come across a problem that I experienced.  The paradoxes in the article are too easy...and i kinda solved em.  Me and my big brain  :)

Anyways, I posted on their forums about this, and here's the solution.  You may need this because the whole idea is to clear al your thoughts.

Try performing some math problems that grow progressively harder.  Like start with 2x2x2x2 (since 1x1x1x1 always equals ONE).  I got to about 500,000 something with that, so i moved onto 3's.  3's are hard.  Even for me, mr. Math whiz.  If you wanna vary some a bit, you could go 2x3x3x3x3x3.  Totally different this way. 6, 12, 24, 48, yea...and so on.

Try what works best for you.  Some people on those forums give themselves tough programming jobs to complete that can REALLY task your mind.  The object is just to focus on solving that one thing.  I think in doing this, it was the first time in a while that I didnt have a song stuck in there!  O.o

Squeek

kakkarot

well, i guess i could change my quote auraseer. how about "Arcanum Arcanorum"? [8D]

and as to training lentation by solving math equations: why? that gives your mind no practical skill in speeding up in real situations where you might have to INTERACT with your environment. doing it with math problems would be ok, except that when people are only using their minds, they tend to sink into their mind, leaving them "out in the cold" when it comes to what's happening around them.

the way i used to do it was by fooling my self into thinking that i was in a really intense situation that NEEDED me to think quickly. i forced myself to have to process information about everything around me that was relevant to keeping me safe. for instance, i might be walking down the street and about to pass by a group of kids. i'll check them over as fast as i can, noting anything that might be advantageous to them if a fight erupted, for whatever reason. ie if a kid has his hands in his pocket, does it look like he's holding a weapon? or is someone checking me out in the same way i'm checking them out? etc. and then i'll prepare myself for anything that might happen, making sure to keep absolutely sure that i'm accounting for any possible angle that they might attack me from.

well, that's how i train it. by doing that for almost everything, trying to keep tabs on as much as possible of what's going on around me. how many people, how many cars, where is everyone moving, what are they doing, etc. takes a lot out of me some times.

Hi,
"how about "Arcanum Arcanorum"?". Eh? I dont get it...

Anyway...moving on... I tried the blurred fingers technique, and my hand felt uncomfortable moving back and forth, then started to slow down. But my other hand was moving at a normal speed. Was this just my hand getting tired?

Cya,
James.

Lentation.... so that's what it is called..... hhhmm.. I've always been kindof a 'fighter', so to say... Since I was young I always enjoyed wrestling and 'play fighting' with my friends... before i really got into the jist of things dealing with metaphysics, i was makeing small theories about fighting styles, and stuff... I also noticed early on in life that i could move 'power' around my body, and use it for strikes, or for running or something... [ i now know that its energy, but back then, thats basically how i percieved it]

Something that i soon noticed, was, If i concentrated on my entire body with that 'power' and tried to increase that 'power level'; wich is something else i learned to do slowly... [ im sorry if this co-incideds with the Dragon Ball series ]..... If i could raise that power, and use it for/with my entire body... I would move a lot faster/ think alot quicker/ become a lot more focused on the reason why i would do that, and have my strength increased a lot... basically, it was like haveing all of my reflexes increased, and clearer thoughts [ though slightly limited to what i was doing].

there were a few kindof side affect-type things, that came with that though.... burning out was one of them.... hunger came after a little while [if i hadn't ate about an hour or two before-hand..... and it was almost impossible to do this 'thing' right after eating, hence the 1-2 hour thing].

Useing this 'technique', dare i call it that, gave me quite an advantage in a fight... notice how i used that singularly..... I only used it in a fight once, because while/around the end of the fight, i noticed how much more i was beating him because of it... and i almost brought it too far, before stopping myself. I helped the kid up, and made sure he was ok afterward, even though we weren't friends... i think that was one of the main reasons why i have learned to be able to controll my strength, to whats needed for the task, rather than over-powering for it...

and i also started to try to work on ways to cancel out the burn-out affect, [after i became more aquainted with the ways of energy] and i started learning to draw in energy from various sources [ i try my best not to take away from people]. I'm not sure what i directly get the energy from yet, because it seems like a combonation of siphoning energy from myself AND my surroundings... I sense my energy kindof intertwining with the other energy thats comming in, and converting the other energy into me..... yet i would need more energy from an outside source to fill me, because it seems to be compressed, when shifted into my energy.... kindof like a 100% ratio of an outside source being compressed to about an energy amount about 40-60% its size in my energy..... like mine is denser.. hhmm.. oh well...

I have such a strange way of understanding things, and percieveing things, that i have a hard time expressing what i think, into words..... I guess i would have so much more of an easier time trying to communicate with someone on the astral, than what i can to in the physical.

I'm not sure what i may have been trying to convey in this post... but oh well... i hope someone, could have gotten soemthing valueable from what i've been typeing..
If someone has the knowledge, and wants to do something, how far do you think they can go, if they lack the experience, and are unable to sustain the amount of effort needed to succeed?  ~ Self 2/25/2003

Mosorbus

I'm a member of Veritas... lentation is not increasing adrenaline to make you faster.... Its increasing adrinaline to slow things down..
For example say if someone throws a baseball at you you can slow it down so that you have enough time to reactive instead of getting hit...

Advanced lentation would be the ability to slow things down but make your self move at regular speed seeming fast to everyone else... Its the minds way of shifting perception for your advantage... Everyone lentates all the time its just the periods in which it happens are so short you dont pay attention to it... there are alot of different ways you could train to make yourself be able to lentate at will but im not about to sit here and type them all if you want to know e-mail me ......

Squeek

Kakkarot - I can't think like that.  Well, anymore.  I'm a teenager [:P]

But that's ok...because nothing is going on around me while i practice this stuff. I posted ages ago about how i practice only at night. I go from like 10:15 to 11:30 sometimes.

And also. This math stuff really works alot.  I haven't been able to clear my thoughts like that for ages.  I got very very bored doing it last night though.  It's all too easy!  LoL.

And, about the training methods, is this one of them -
http://www.liquid.se/pong.html

It's pong!  But there's a catch. You play behind your paddle, and the ball goes at a huge speed after a while.  This game provides a huge challenge. I dubbed it "American Pong" :)   Its fun. Play it.  See if you can slow that ball down.

oh come now Squeek. i was a teenager when i did my training. "Everything can be used for training. Everything." -Comment on Ranma½ Martial Arts.

Mosorbus: fair enough. i retract my previous arrogance. [|)]

Auraseer: Arcanum Arcanorum is latin for "Secret of Secrets". it was a joke. [:P]

~kakkarot

Mosorbus

Hey Squeek,

Great find the pong game does trigger lentation... If you play with it long enough it goes really fast your mind cant help but try to slow it down the best thing to do would be to time yourself...And see how long you can last once your advanced in lentation you shouldnt have to stop good luck..

Mosorbus

auraseer

Hi,
kakkarot: Errr...right...ha....

I can actually induce lentation, not controllably, by plaing on that pong game. I got something like 367 the other night.

Cya,
James.
P.S. Nobody has answered my question about the blurred fingers yet [;)].

Squeek

Heeheeheee...

Auraseer, I got a 402.  :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

ANyways.  After reading the article about lentation, I realized I don't have some of the components for training!  What can you subsitute for:

A clock (All mine are digital!)
I can't remember the rest...Ok...

Yea. All of the clocks in my house are digi's.  Nobody in my family plays piano, so a metronome would be useless. Would a slow spinning fan work as a subsitute?  Or can you give me another example?

I can't wait to move on!

~Squeek

Tom

Could we find a name for this that does not remind me so much of Lent? At first I thought this thread was a joke.

It really is odd to watch an analog clock for what feels like several seconds and conclude that the clock stopped. The same thing can happen with your breathing and heartbeat. That is even odder.

Squeek

Ok... how's about....

Pentation?
Rentation?
Sentation?
Quentation?
Ventation?
Spentation?

Or...go a completely different direction and call it...

The-Ability-To-Slow-Junk-Downation

[:P]  Take that!  [:P]

Heehee.  Why do we need to change it? Because it's Lent?  Because it's a bad word?  Or...what?

Tom

Because it takes too long to say even before slowing time down?

I just would prefer a more descriptive term rather than something which is mostly already taken by something else ... Lent ... lentation.

Did you try concentrating on your heartbeat? That would be more resistant to change than breathing. Just paying attention to breathing slows it down.

hashpuppet

i got 520 on the game suckas, and ive been doing lentation for like 2 days and the game for 1. wassup now

Apparently it used to be called "matrixing" (I've signed up with the veritas online forums and had a look around) 3 guesses why it was called that [8D] The author then altered the techniques ect, taking it to a different approach, and -as he says- made it way more difficult to learn [}:)]
But I'm sure it's for the best

So there's your other name. It just doesn't sound as scientific[:P]

ssjoku

I Can use The Matrix IN MY PANTS, Seriously my penis can slow down time [:)]

auraseer

Hi,
ssjoku: I thought you were going to be sensible and shut the f*ck up?

Cya,
auraseer.
P.S. What penis?
P.P.S. Im mad cus I just lost an essay I wrote on my site and couldnt save it (connection went off).
