There are some arts. not only martial arts but still arts.
I suggest: Ki-gong, Tai-chi, Aikido or Rei-ki.

The problem with internal styles is that it requires a lot more patience than external styles...  Unless you're gifted.

Any marshall art/way will cultivate your energy- as it cultivates awareness of self and environment.  You'll get as far with tai kwan do as you would with gung fu, tai chi or chi kung.  In the end you still have to put the same amount of effort, time and yes, patience, into it.
as below, so above

Hello,

I have practiced Shoto-Kan Karate for above 6 years and you do learn to "manipulate" energy. It is about the physical energy and the more 'spiritual' form of energy (concentration). The basic thing is to take your energy from the ground, by having a very well ballance and firm standing position, and by pushing from your feet, through your legs, hips, torso, shoulder, arms and all they way up to the knuckels of your fist into the target. Timing, breathing, concentration, distance,... all that is extremely important for directing all the energy into the attack  (or block). It all starts with the way you stand (right up), walk (from your belly, as if pulled forward from your belt), breath, and "move" into your surroundings. The basic is really the physical energy and the energy of your physical body, but with practice it all comes into "concentration" which is a "spiritual" energy, or in other words "focus". You have to focus both your physical energy and your concentration to the attack/block. With time the physical "energy" just follows the spiritual "energy" concentration. In Shotokan Karater (which is the most basic and traditional one), the basic of all is in having the perfect technique to "channel" the energy from the "ground" to where you want in your body. Because of that all the details are important, as to how your feet, heels, toes, are positioned and the same for every single articulation in your body. This is not true for other Karate techniques which allow you to adopt different styles. For example in other Karate styles (not shotokan) the heel is allowed to move up and is not fixed to the ground, therefore loosing a very important part of the thrust. Also sometimes the body is moved in positions which are not as stable as the positions of Shotokan. Of course Shotokan has little variants depending on the possibility of everyone's body.

Tai-Chi has many body movements very similar to shoto-kan where the standing positions (kiba-dachi, zenkutsu-dachi, kokutsu-dachi,..) are completely identical, but the body motion is much slower (actual slow motion of shotokan). So well that we had a Shotokan teacher who was teaching Tai-Chi, it was all natural for him.

Hey! I study Kyokushinkai Karate, it has a lot of similar things with the shotokan even some katas just that you have all the bassais, heians etc... and we have taikeyoku and pinans.
The katas are the same just in an other styles and other names.
Very cool!

Hi Everyone! I have a question on martial arts. I used to take tai qan do (sorry if I misspelled it),, but it didn't seem very beneficial to me. also, I was very yung, and I didn't have much patience. Anyways, what I want to know is, is there a specific form of martial arts that deals more directly with the development and manipulation of energy and the energy body?

Thanks,
Michael
