hey all, i got the book 'mastering astral projection' the other day, I'm on day 1 and i have to do mobile body awareness, i really cant get my head around this Ive tried it before too and whenever i try i feel nothing, i have to scratch my knee and feel the sensation, feeling until I'm intensely aware of the joint, but i feel nothing, Ive sat doing this for 15 Min's quite a few times and i feel nothing each time.
This kinda sucks really cause I'm on day 1 and i cant even get past that lol god knows how I'm ever gonna AP, anyone can help or have any suggestions as to what i can do??

This is really hard to explain.
There are different ways of feeling..
But, if you have nog used one conciously it so hard to become aware of it.

First of all, whatever you do, be as calm as you can be.

I bet you've had some experience in 'feeling with your heart'.
This is when you see something sad happening, or when u feel love, or pleasure. I think you should become aware of what happens in your body when you notice these 'sensations'.
The way you are feeling is by focussing on the place you must feel, but you should actually not focus at all, scratch the knee and kinda like be alarmed by your own senses that something is touching your knee.

Another way to become aware of your ability to feel is be remembering a dream, or if you have the ability dream lucid, try to feel in the dream.
Dreams are deep within yourself where the ability to feel is much much higher.

Another way is to look at something, something that you have not touched before, and just imagin what it would be like to touch it. Play a little movie in your head where you walk up to thing you chose and grabbed, holding, touching it with your finger tips. You must be able to say something about the thing. What shape it is, if the surface is soft or hard, if it has a pointing shape could you tell if it is sharp?
Then walk up to the object for real and see if you were right.
This way you train your third eye. "the feeling eye"

This all might be really hard at first, but keep interested, be relaxed and open and with more practise, it will come.

OK so last night i decided to do some relaxation as Ive done this before and felt vibrations, and i thought that when i was relaxed enough id try and do some body awareness, so i lay on my bed and as i was relaxing, i scratched my knee and tried to remember the sensation as i was getting deeper.
So as i got deeper and deeper i thought of the sensation and tried to imagine that i was scratching my knee in different directions and in circles and as i was doing this i was getting tingling sensations down in my ankle kind of area which as i've read is energy pathways being reused and reopened i think?
so i did it with the other knee and got some more tingling in that leg, at this point i thought id just try and relax and go deeper, as i was getting deep i kind of lost feeling in my arms, as if they went numb (is that normal?) then i got a few vibrations, they start on my body at first as if someone has grabbed me and started shaking me left to right, i get it a little in my arms and legs too but not as much as in my body, i then started feeling the vibrations in my head and it actually felt like my head was bouncing against my pillow.
It was after i got the vibrations in my head that i felt strange sensation between my eyes which i have read is my brow center, it was as if someone was pushing my head down but they only had contact on my brow center and they were pushing from there, is that normal?
as i was doing the relaxation exercise i felt a weird sensation in my throat its kinda hard to explain it felt like it was preparing to be sick and i felt sick too, i shrugged this off assuming t was a regular relaxation symptom but was it?
at this point i decided to stop the relaxation and wake up cause i wanted to come on here and see if the sensations i had felt were normal or if i was doing something wrong.
I've done the relaxation exercise twice now both times feeling vibrations, mainly around my body, whenever i have done it as Ive got deeper and just before i get vibrations i get a bright light behind my closed eyes, like it was daytime and the sun was shining through my windows, but in actual fact its night almost pitch black in my bedroom, is this normal too?

With mobile body awareness, all you have to do is to be able to feel a part of your body. That is it. If your can feel your knee then part of your awareness is in your knee. Some parts of your body are more sensitive than others. If you have a place that is hard to feel, scratching it lightly with your fingernail to cause a sensation will draw your attention to the point and you can hold it there after you stop scratching. Doing this repeatedly will help you make the less sensitive parts of your body easier to feel. It isn't until you move on to tactile imaging that you have to worry about creating specific sensations like stirring or brushing.
