Hi all, I have been browsing these forums for a few weeks now but just signed up now as I am having some slight difficulty activating my base chakra.

I have been meditating and working on OOBE for going on 4 months now, starting with Monroe's hemi-sync and now using Robert Bruce's MAP program. I spent a good 3 weeks on week 3 trying to perfect the energy raising and silencing of the mind, which i have gotten somewhat decent at(can go 30-40 seconds without a thought if i really focus hard, 15-20 seconds now pretty easily), but moving onto week 4 I have hit a stop.

I don't think I am activating my root chakra at all, or very little, even though I am doing exactly as it says, raising energy from my legs to the spot, brushing stirring and ripping(like bread) as well as imagining strong bright light emanating from that spot after the ripping, and focusing my body awareness there with some moving as i brush and such.

Yesterday I got no reaction at all doing this, even though I did it for a good 10 minutes(as well as doing it again in later meditation sessions) and today i focused heavily on it for 15-20 minutes, and possibly got some effects, but they were barley noticeable. Possibly some pressure and a slight throbbing that stayed in that spot for about 10 minutes after I stopped meditating.

Am i doing it right? Is there any other techniques that can be done to help activate this chakra? I have noticed that the muscle down there tends to tense up very slightly as I breath in, and I tried to keep it fully relaxed focusing down there, but I think that tensed up muscles in my upper body(hard to tell, I'm very disassociated at that point). I planned on continuing to stay on this day till i got some definite reactions, but don't want to overstimulate the base chakra(if i am stimulating it at all) and not focus on any of the others. Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Another question is the full body circuit, described as moving the awareness up through the legs while sponging energy up and around down to the sub navel energy storage center, which I am kind of able to do, but am much easier able to focus my awareness at the top of my head and use my astral arms to sponge the energy up(Staying at the top and trying to feel this coming up) and then joining it as it goes around the head down the throat and to the storage center(i usually get a buzz or vibration as I join in and push it down my awareness going with it), and I also stumbled onto a method where I just will an energy flow up through my feet through the entire lower half of my body, forming it into a steady stream as it goes over my head and strait down the center of my upper body to the energy center.

My question is are these methods working in raising energy or would I have to be able to perfectly feel myself going up through my legs, chest/arms neck and then around down the top of my body? I have been raising energy at least a month and have notice no real difference in my energy during the day, in fact I am still pretty tired most of the time.

Thanks for any help :)

For me it took one year of daily (mantra)-meditation to start to feel energy. Try working on your feet and legs. You have one chakra between your feet and one between your knees, try working on them. Just keep up the work and don't give up, one day you will start to sense your base center.

Remember that the chakras work like an entire system, so they affect each other and are strongly linked together.

And have fun when you do energy work and follow your intuition.

Because you feel sensations I think you're doing things right, maybe you have blockages that disturbs the energy flow. I have/had some serious blockages around my heart center and in the beginning I could not feel almost anything when I focused on my heart chakra, but with time the blockages have released and I'm now fairly good at feeling my heart.

Try to integrate your energy raising with your daily life, I for example do it when I travel or having a break at work.

Thanks for you reply, i do try and do energy raising numerous times per day, but usually just work on the chakra once, during my afternoon meditation. Today again i got pretty much no feelings or reaction at all and I tried pretty hard, and I again noticed the muscles tensing down there.

Every time I inhale, no matter how hard i try(and I've tried very hard, to the point of almost pushing out urine, which caused alot of tension in the legs)i cannot get these muscles to stay relaxed, and it is slightly aggravating, as I'm not sure if I'll be able to get out of my body if not ever muscle is relaxed(I've never read these muscles mentioned but assume they are included in "total body relaxation").

Any thoughts on this or the base chakra? Anyone? Thanks.

I'm having a similar problem.  I've only recently attempted raising my energy through meditation, though I've been aware of this stuff for some time after hearing Mr. Bruce on Coast to Coast and encountering sleep paralysis at night pretty often afterwards.  (Thanks alot, Robert.)

I'm pretty good at relaxing all the muscles of my body, but I'm having some difficulty quieting the mind and stimulating the chakras.  I'm especially having trouble moving my awareness to different parts of the body.  It's pretty frustrating, like trying to lift something your body just doesn't have the capacity to lift.

It seems that the main point is to keep trying and be patient, though I'd like some small amount of progress somewhere more immediately.  Are there baby steps for this stuff?

(I figured it wasn't worth starting a new thread, when this is pretty similar.)

Hi all! I'd like to share with you the experience I had. Last night, I was in bed and decided to try to stimulate and open all my chakras for the first time.
After reading so much I was curious to know what it felt like. Concentrated on my feet and legs and the energy quickly began to raise. I found that using the HANDS didn't do much for me. Instead I just imagine the tingling and the energy moving and I quickly start feeling it. Took some minutes to pull energy to the area in the base of the spine hoping to find the base chakra. Suddenly I started feeling a pressure between my anus and my genitals. It grew stronger and stronger. At some point it felt like I had this huge ball inside of me and it was strongly pulsing like a heart.
I started then to pull energy to my lower abdomen area. At first I thought I wasn't going to find the chakras but after enough energy was pulled up I started feeling another ball right below my bellybutton (navel chakra). After stimulated with enough energy it also began pulsing. I moved to the upper abdomen and also found the solar plexus chakra. It felt like a pressure ball next to my stomach. I must say this three chakras were the most active. I felt them strongly pulsing and active.
I tried to go to the heart chakra while continuously pulling energy from the lower parts. It didn't take too much to find it and feel it. When I pumped enough energy to this chakra my heart rate would increase rapidly but as soon as I returned to the lower chakras it would decrease so I was not able to make it pulse or beat rapidly all the time. Sometimes I would even stop feeling it and had to search it all over again. I found it hard to stimulate and open this chakra. Don't really know why.
Next I found the throat chakra. I felt a gentle pulsing and a lump on the base of my throat. Then I tried the hard part. The third eye. I kept pulling energy to my forehead and going back to stimulate it to raise through the legs and chakras and to go to my brow area. The energy going up my head felt like a cold wind inside. I would feel a cold sensation flowing up. I was able to feel the tingling on my forehead and felt a pressure on a single point between my brows. Next thing it looked like someone had entered my room and turned on the lights because it got brighter through my eye lids. I reacted by opening the eyes to see who it was. Nobody was there, no light was turned on and I had lost it. Then I was only able to feel the eye but I couldn't open it. By this time 3 hours had passed (very fast!), I was hungry, my heels hurted, was very tired, sleepy and my third eye was not responding so I decided to stop the chakra work. I've noticed that my third eye is very connected to the heart chakra. Once my heart chakra started pulsing harder, I'd feel my third eye more active and trying to open. That would explain why I couldn't open it as I was having a hard time with the heart chakra.
Anyway it felt great  At some point, I couldn't feel the lower half of my body and it felt like I was floating inside myself. Too bad the upper half was not enough stimulated.
After waking up, the next morning, I could still feel my base chakra gently pulsing. It's very active since then. I can always feel it.

How often can I repeat this chakra work? I'd like to work more on the upper chakras but I don't want to get it overdeveloped.
I would apreciate some suggestions about how to deal with this heart chakra/third eye chakra problem =) Thanks =D
