Hi Targa,

Welcome to the Pulse!

Thanks for taking the time to write all that out. There are people cruising around here who are in all stages of discovering and learning, and your description was very articulate.

I've been doing NEW for about 4 months now and I'm very pleased to have learned it. I practice it every day and I find that it's a very worthwhile way to spend dead time like sitting in boring meetings and such...heh, heh.

I'm a very visually oriented person also and so I cheat and visualize a lot also. But it's not cheating if you have the tactile feedback of course. Here's another trick which you'll get to at some point.

Remember The Matrix...."There is no spoon.."? Well, the prana energy which we draw into the body during NEW can be regarded as an extension of ones own body and consciousness and drawn in and moved around inside the body without any of the awareness hands manipulation, etc. I don't ever do the awareness hands any more. I just draw the luminous cloud of energy into my feet and hands and move it to my sub-naval storage area or a chakra with just my will. So moving the little vitality globules is simply an act of will, like moving a finger or walking.

It helps at first to imagine that your subnaval storage area has become a localized vacuum and is pulling the energy in. But later you can even dispense with that.

I've been practicing raising Kundalini into my upper chakras for almost 20 years but for a long time I've been stuck with a fairly mild level of Kundalini. But I'm finding now that with regular NEW energy raising and working on my root chakra, I'm getting into much more intense levels of Kundalini than ever before. So I consider that NEW is something that God directed me to because it's the perfect thing for me now.

Have you had any success discussing NEW with anyone in your life? Family members think you're going whacko??

No success talking to family members yet, and yes, they think I'm wacko, but then...they've always though that. [:)]

Which brings me to a question I have.  Since my family members are not interested in chakras or working with their energy bodies, I was wondering if anyone has attempted to manipulate other people's energy bodies.  What I mean is, not, as Robert Bruce describes, healing people, but rather direct manipulation (with either awareness hands or, as you say, with Will alone).  Thanks for that tip, BTW!  All of us who have tried NEW are aware of the physcial sensations, for example, when you do the "stirring", "brushing", or "sponging" techniques.  So if, for example, I was to do a stirring action on my wife's feet, would she feel it, and would it work?  Has anyone ever attempted this?  ie: can we work on other people's energy bodies the same way we work on our own?

As boydster i have not use the awareness hands very long, the will is sufficient and takes less mental effort to draw energy in (for me at least). I also use a lot of visualisation, but at far as you stay focuses on the body at the same time it brings drastic benefical effects in the training i found out.

However, yes it is possible to some extent, depending on your skill to move your consciousness out of your own body, to move energy in others' bodies. But i think you shouldn't do it nevertheless without their accord, we are talking about the free will to do what we want with our body. If your parents don't want to do energy work, it's up to them. It might even be that this life is not supposed to bring them into that path. It might even frighten them if you bring big energy sensations into them, so it's better to let people doing their choices i think. The only case when i do so is when attempting to heal someone at distance. As i'm a beginner is don't want to give false hopes and lose their confidence if it doesn't work. And if it works well i didn't do it for fame so i'm just happy enough to see them recover :) And maybe your parents will change their mind one day, and do it on their own will. You'll have to teach them then :)

This is an interesting question. I've never tried it. I've always thought of the awareness hands technique as merely a metaphore for the focussing of ones attention on a specific location in space. I guess if you put a bunch more energy into the effort then maybe you could extend your own energy field out as a kind of tentacle and do what you describe.

What would your wife do if you succeeded? Would it freak her out? Mine is ok with my weird activities and is actually a very spiritual person. I'll try it with her.

I've tried many metaphysical and spiritual things in my life, but have never seriously attempted to learn about chakras and the energy body until several days ago when I found Robert Bruce's website.  I was very pleasantly surprised when I started doing the NEW ways exercises, because I could actually feel the energy/nerve interaction!  This is nothing new to those of you who are familiar with this, but to a novice I can assure you that it's nothing short of amazing. [:)]

I've read all the other articles on the website also, and many have very useful information, some of which I will quote or paraphrase here.  Like many other people (no doubt), I found the beginner section of NEW to be tedious after a while, having to do so many actions on so many different chakras, so I began experimenting.

By the time I had worked my way from the feet, all the way up the body to my hands, I was getting a little bored, so I decided to visualize the "stirring action" on the back of my hand doing all 14 joints simultaneously.  I know it's supposed to be purely tactile, but I found it easier for myself to use the image of something like "little golden toothpicks" doing the stirring.  As Robert has pointed out in his articles, many people mistakenly believe that "visualization" means seeing something in your head as if it was on a TV screen.  And as he mentioned, it's not.  Visualization = imagination; the same thing you use when you create a fantasy.

One of the most interesting things about NEW ways is the way your "Awareness Hands" seem to have actual substance.  I liken this to Robert's mention of higher astral planes being made of a material similar to photographic film, where when exposed to light they take on a "picture".  This reminds me of several NDE's (near death experiences) I've read where people stated that they went to a realm/plane of existence where you used your MIND or THOUGHTS to create your own "ideal world/hangout".  This in turn reminded me of something the famous clairvoyant, Edgar Cayce, said many times when in a clairvoyant trance;"Remember, MIND is the builder!"  This, in turn, is similar to how Robert describes creating a broadsword in an OBE, and is also similar to how you can create objects in a lucid dream.  Robert also mentioned how objects are "reflected" in higher planes, depending on the number of people who think about them.  ie:  A famous art object like the Mona Lisa, which is loved and admired by millions has tons of "thought-power" poured into it, so it will appear in many higher planes as a "real object".  Whereas a piece of scrap paper, which no one thinks about, has little or no effect on etheric planes.

All of this leads me to the conclusion that the power of thought has creative ability in the etheric plane.  While this may not be a new concept, I believe it can be of great use to those who apply it to their everyday lives (which is exactly what Robert Bruce is talking about in his NEW energy ways).  Let me point out here that I'm not merely regurgitating Robert's ideas or concepts, but rather refining them and attempting to explain their possible uses.

As mentioned in one of Robert's articles, it's easy to "build" a fantasy world or scenario.  I thoroughly enjoyed his example of walking on a grass lawn, surrounded by flowers, approaching a huge tree, finding a "root-chair", etc...  Our ability to visualize complex fantasies can be utilized in chakra and energy stimulation to a very high degree.  If you take my previous example and try it for yourself, I believe you will find it relatively easy to do.  Here I'll give you an exercise you can try for yourself, which I found to be highly effective:

Before you begin, decide what type of object(s) you wish to use for the "stirring action".  I personally try to keep it simple for this exercise, since we will need to visualize a large number of objects.  For small joints (like toes and knuckles) I use a small golden rod similar in size to "half of a toothpick", and adjust this size to as large as a "chopstick" for larger chakras such as knees, hips, shoulders, etc.  Note that there is no reason to bore yourself when working specific chakras.  I often visualize a faerie with a glowing "ET-like" fingertip and have her do the stirring action on small chakras, and larger beings such as dryads for larger chakras.  I also use these creatures for brushing and sponging, and even chat with them. [:D] (no, we don't have conversations, I just thank them, imaginary though they may be)

Get yourself in a relaxed state and move your body awareness to your right foot.  Visualize (and also "tactualize", if possible. ie: feel) your "stirrers" on each toe joint on the top of the foot.  Note that while Robert's suggestion of touching or scratching to locate and target areas is helpful, if you just proceed with visualization you will find that your mind already knows where each joint is.  Don't worry about accuracy.  Believe that you are accurate and properly targetting the joints, and you will be!

Have you ever seen those people who balance dinner plates on long poles, spinning the plates on top of the poles?  To keep them spinning, they go from one plate to another, pushing each one, but not staying on one plate for very long.  You can move your awareness to each toe joint, briefly stopping on each joint and visualizing the stirring action.  It works in much the same way as the dinner plates.  We will use this "stop by and spin-it" technique as we go along.  As I'm writing this, I'm following my own suggestion and all the toe joints in my right foot are tingling with energy. [:)]

Now double the number of "toothpicks" or "stirrers", creating a mirror-image on the bottom of your foot, stirring the joints from beneath.  Don't try to concentrate on creating each one singly, but rather just picture (as you would a fantasy) that they're all there, and in the correct places, all rotating nicely.  Now you can create a "chopstick" or "drumstick"-sized stirrer and visualize it underneath your foot, stirring the heel.  For the sole of the foot, I like to use something that I call "foot tornado".  I visualize a miniature tornado or vortex below my foot, with its top extending into the sole of my foot.  The top of the tornado moves and sways, massaging the entire sole of the foot (this is a take-off of Robert's action of moving the swirling action around on the sole).  Using the above analogy of the dinner-plate-spinners, you can (and should) shift your attention back to previously created stirrers each time you create a new stirrer (in effect, keeping them alive and spinning).  This is similar to how Robert describes creating a broadsword in an OBE, which dissolved every time his focus of attention went elsewhere.  It also uses the principle of Splitting Awareness, but to a much higher degree.  Think of it this way:  As long as you keep a small percent of your awareness focused on your stirring action, you will keep it alive.  It's very simple to visualize even 100 different spinning objects once you train your mind to do so.  It's not necessary to focus the attention on each individual stirring action, as long as you can "see" all of them happening at the same time.

Now you should be able to visualize two "chopstick-sized" stirrers, one on each side of your ankle, strirring the ankle-bone areas.  Create these in every place described in NEW energy ways.  When I tried this for the first time, it only took me maybe 15 minutes before I had my entire body covered with stirring actions, including the primary chakras.

Look at the back of your hand.  Imagine 14 small stirrers rotating in each finger joint.  Just picture it in your mind as if you're watching a sci-fi movie.  See how simple it is?  While in this process, as I stated above, you may need (or want) to quickly move your awareness to each section of your body and momentarily visualize that particular body area in order to "keep the illusion going".

Remember, just like "awareness hands", your mind-power creates the "stirrers" that you visualize.  They become "real", in the etheric world.  In the above example of the Mona Lisa, it's not the physical object that gives it substance in the higher planes, but rather the mind-power or thought-power of the people who think about it.  The same is true with your stirrers.  The more you use them, the more real they will be in the etheric plane.  The more real they are, the easier it will be to "latch on" to them in the future (just like a favorite fantasy is easy to recall to mind, since it has been previously created).  That being said, what you will find is that the more you practice this, the easier it will be to bring your stirrers to life.  In other words, you will find that you can activate an entire leg (toes, foot, knee, hips) instantly, just by visualizing it.  In time, you will be able to activate your entire body all at once.

This is meant to compliment NEW energy ways, and not to replace it.  In no way do I pretend to know near as much as Robert about this stuff.  This really stems from how intrigued I became with the apparent reality of awareness hands.  When coupling this with Robert's suggestion of fantasizing about walking in a flower garden, etc... it made me wonder just how "real" a fantasy can be.  ie:  If you create a fantasy where you're totally relaxed and in harmony with nature, surrounded by beauty, and conversing with animals, faeries, and angels, and maybe even having a bright light from heaven shining down on you... how would this affect your physical mind/body as far as health and happiness?  We know that we can visualize "going deeper", and it does lower our brainwaves and bring us into trance or hypnosis.  How much are we affected by our fantasies?  Very intriguing.
