NEW - Question about leg work

Heyas,

I've finally got past my toes in the NEW process (damn they were hard to get going) and last night I did some leg work.

I have a question - in the NEW excercises, we are told to feel the awareness up and down the top, bottom, inside, outside of legs.  That's all fine, but then we have to use the sponging action through our legs, up and down.

When i do this, I *really* feel resistance, its literally like I'm dragging my awareness through mud with a sponge.

How is this action different to the "bouncing" of your awareness through your legs?  Should the bouncing be left until you get faster flow through, or do you don't "sponge" it as much when you bounce?  Coz the bouncing says its supposed to take half a second or so each way, and at the rate Im going it certainly isn't that fast!

I assume its normal to have lots of resistance when first starting out?  Can I still raise my energy before going to bed each night at this point? (IE through the legs, thighs, into the sub navel centre)?  Or should I do ALL the exercises before raising energy?

Hello!

My advice is to keep doing all the exercises from your toes and work up the legs, it seems you have some energy blockades in your legs but that's ok just do the sponging action and try to feel as if it is being cleared. You could try imagining that roots grow from your feet and into the ground all the way to the core of the earth...try to feel connected to it and try to absorb energy from there. It could help clear the energy blockades faster, just imagine and feel that the earth's energies enter through your feet and up through the legs, feel as it is warm and feel the imaginary hands as they do the sponging action and spread the energy all around. Personally I don't do the bouncing awareness thing, I just do the other 5 awareness actions and they seemed to work very well for me when I first started and now my legs are very activated (from and energy point of view).
Hope it helps :)

Try to have fun.

Take note of your progress.

Persist with daily exploration and practice.

The effort is well worth it.... :)
The journey upwards is worth the inconvenience.

I've had the same problem in the past, and the bouncing action is quite different from the sponging - for me at least.

When I do the 'bounce' the depth/intensity of my awareness is very 'shallow' and I move up my leg(s) really fast.  Don't worry about getting the really deep action as you do with the sponging.

After a while of bouncing you should notice a natural rythm appear, with energy collecting at each end of the bounce and shooting up/down the leg.  To keep it going it's then more of a case of following the bounce with your awareness, as opposed to the sustained effort of a deep sponging action.
