I wouldn't stress too much about this.  I find that it's totally common to experiencing twitching in the trance/relaxed state.  I think of it as a good sign, because your body is shutting down, which often results in these involuntary muscle spasms.

They are really distracting though, if you are really aware of your environment (which sometimes is bad if you're trying to go OBE, since you should probably be focused AWAY from your body and environment).

Usually, I wait until I start to twitch, and I know that I'm relaxed enough to "let go."  Then I allow myself to drift off to sleep, and hopefully, I will snap back to consciousness shortly with full awareness that I am getting out of my body.

Hi Jeff, its not so much twitching but more my muscles start to tense as if i were about to move my body part but i  usually stop it after noticing it, it can get quite irritating...... (although i do get some twitching)

Jeff, how do i let go of my physical body, ive read  this many times,  what should one focus on?

RodentMouse: I've noticed a similar problem with my hands although lately it seems to have been dimishing in intensity. My hands and forearms tense really gently until at some point I become aware of the tenseness and relax my arms. It always surprises me how tense muscles can become without being aware of it. I wonder how much unnecessary tenseness there is in a human body and how much problems the tenseness actually accounts for.
Anyway, what's helped me with this particular trouble has been constant checks on my arms. Just move your awareness briefly to the problems spots and feel for the tension and teh dismiss it. After a while theprob. goes and you can stop checking. Of course next time you relax it'll probably be the same all over.
As an aside Lee Strassberg's method acting utilizes a similar moving awareness to ours for the specific purpose of spotting uncesessary tention in th ebody and getting rid of it.

Jilola,  i have done those spot checks every-now-and-again,  but is there not a more permenant solution,  does your body learn to adapt to these spot checks???  i find that when i relax my arms with a spot check i find  it wil lalways tense up when i resume focus on the NOW.....  does it eventually stay relaxed if you do enough spot checks....  I will certainly try  them in tonights training but i hope i get some feedback beforehand....

thanks for the help jilola and jeff_mash  :D

I've noticed a decrease in the unnoticed tensing up over time. The body get the drift after a while and gradually stops tensing up so much. These days I hardly ever have to target any specific parts of my body.

Just be merciless with the checks. Let no tenseness remain no matter how many times you need to do it. This will probably stop other work for a while but very soon the check becomes sso east youu can do it as a background task.

Hello to the people :D

i have a few problems with relaxing....

1)  i  can be in a trance for about 30 minuites and, unconsiously  i will slightly move my right arm,  i can never seem to totally relax it....   (ive thought it might be because i play guitar and the muscles in this arm are exercise frequently when i strum and thusly are more built than my left)

2)  also the same, i can be in trance and my neck and head will move left and right slightly,  also  i only know my head and neck are totally relaxed when i exhale, on the inhale i cant help tensing ever so slightly....

i do my projection training lying down on my bed, on top of the wuilt with a pillow under my head and knees.
