I think the idea behind not doing it in a room that is too hot or too cold is that you will be uncomfortable and be too distracted. As long as you are comfortable I don't see why room temperature would make a difference.

But Rich Mooney also says to not shower within 30 minutes of training.

Why not? Is any reason given? That just sounds silly to me. I see no reason why it would matter, but maybe that is just me.

I don't think Rich Mooney does give a reason.  Thanks for the replies, I'll just keep doing what I have been.

I get stronger energy sensations while doing NEW in a room that is slightly warm.  Has anyone else noticed this?  Is there anything wrong with doing NEW in a warm room?  Is this the idea behind the taking a hot shower first that Robert Bruce mentions?  The reason I'm wondering if this is ok is because in my Lin Kong Jing manual Rich Mooney says to not practise in a room that is too hot or too cold because it will hinder practise.  Is doing NEW in a warm room (like 74 degrees or so) ok?
