I have been doing NEW in the morning and it has been great! It gives me so much physical vitality, and puts me in best mood. The amount of physical/ mental energy I get is truly amazing. In the evening hours this has the effect of taking a cup of coffee before going to sleep, which makes sleep possible but not comfortable. However, NEW is not the culprit any meditation I do in the later hours of the evening have the potential of screwing up my sleep. I think this is due to the trance, which seems to increase energy flew in my body.  For example, if I do any sort of meditation I have to do something active and engaging, such as walking or talking to friends, for an hour or to before I actually try to do to bed.  However if I engage in any activity which continues the concentration of my mediation, I tend to have the following symptoms while sleeping: lucid dreams (often waking me in the middle of the night). My body also feels full of energy  all night and into the morning, making me toss and turn all night. I can suck the energy into my sub navel center, but a few hours later it will just be all over me again, causing me to wake up.  Some nights I get in this state of half wakeful and half sleep, where my mind just turns circles and trying to pursue random ideas which are never fully conceptualized. I become annoyed listening to my own thoughts all night, and id clear my mind my meditation but I think it would continues the cycle. I often have to get up and do something for an hour or so around 3-6AM just to bring my mind back to a normal state, that will allow sleep.

Does any one else have similar symptoms with NEW before bed?

Is there a way I could do energy work, and then make sure the energy stays where I put it all night?  Or a way of releasing my excess supply of energy so I can sleep at night?
So far I just abstain from NEW/Meditation in the evening, but another solution would be appreciated.

I was hoping that maybe if I just tried to weather the storm for a week or so my body would fix the problem , just as jet lag tends to fix it self after a few days. But I think Ill wait until school is out before depriving my self of sleep my week trail period.

Hi,

could you please just give me some information about NEW, I don´t now what that is? If there is some website about it?

About storing energy for later, it is possible, try to pick some object and visualize to put your energy into it with intent to store it for later. But make sure no one but you touch this object later.
Because the person which will touch the object could take the energy from it.

Energy will do what you think it to do, so use your imagination.

Hi there,

It happens just the same thing to me. I've got to the circulation of energy level, where you ascend energy from feet up to the crown and down again to the navel. The energy sensation is really incredible, as an internal massage. From a energy-depleted start point I get to a full-energized state.

But if I practice prior to sleep I feel like "attached" to my body all the night, as if I were nor slept nor awake, having an extremely sharp dream recall.

Before-sleep sugestions have proved to be the best method to better this effect: "I'm laid down in the bed, I have a great amount of energy and I'm about to sleep deeply. When I wake up in the morning I'll be completely rested and energized".

Anyway I've spent more weeks in NEWing than it is recomended in the book, because I had problems feeling energy in my back.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input andonitxo. Ill try your sleep suggestion technique tonight.

Yeah, doing NEW before bed sometimes keeps me awake.  I prefer to do NEW in the morning, but sometimes I do it at night, too.  If I do it at night, I try to do it a little more gently and limit the amount of energy I raise.  I think the problem is the *amount* of energy raised right before bed, not the simple fact that I'm doing it.

Hagcin

I'm beginning to notices the connection between the amount of energy you raise and if I can sleep, or How long I can sleep.  Yesterday I had a physically exausting day,  every times I raised energy I just seemed to use it all in a short period of time. by the end of the day I was out like  a light (for the first time in weeks), and got   a whole 8 hours of sleep, even after a little new before I went to bed.  I think regulating he amount of energy I intake at night combined with doing more heavy physical activity during the day helps.

Thanks for the input Naiad780
