I seem to have lost consciousness last night

My boyfriend and I were getting ready to do our NEW energy raising exercises last night. I actually felt full of energy already and just minutes before had been dancing and stretching and bouncing, feeling completely awake and ready to start my exercises.

The next thing I knew, the alarm was going off (we have no idea why it was set for midnight, but it was). Dave tells me that I had been "crashed out" and unresponsive for the past 45 minutes! He had tried to wake me up and even shook me a bit, but I didn't move.

I have no memory of going from "totally awake and full of energy" to "passed out." I don't remember dreaming or having any sleep-related sensations. I didn't even have that slightly groggy feeling you get when the alarm wakes you up. There was ... nothing.

I'm a notoriously light sleeper and this loss of consciousness really bothers me, especially because I can find no reason for it. It doesn't seem natural for me. And no, I'm not sleep deprived.

Is this something that happens to other people practicing NEW, or is it just some weird glitch of mine? If it does happen to others, how do you prevent it?
