freeform energy visualization

I have found it immensely useful to mentally simulate 'threads' of energy, styled to reflect the intent, like "fiery" has a appearance of flame, orange-red spectrum.
These I use gestures (mental animation and physical movement) to create 3D matrices in the air and interlaced with my E-body.
They resemble living light-serpents.
I usually use 2.

anyone else ever do that?
