Well, first off, anyone who says it will "lower your power level," is some one who watches japanese cartoons, so throw that out the window.[B)]

Second, the visualization is just a tool to help you. It doesn't matter where you visualize the energy coming from. Hell, you could visualize it coming out of a monkey's butt if it would help you.

There's more to energy manipulation than just visualization. You should be able to feel your energy.
I need a signature that isn't stupid. :/

I wonder if anyone here would get terribly upset if they found out, after talking to a Tai-Chi master or instructor, that "chi" means breath.

Hmmmmm...breath balls!

Takes on a whole new meaning doesn't it. Wonder what training is needed for breath balls?

Do the really nasty ones involve garlic???

yeah, I knew that. that is one of the translations of chi, life energy, universal energy, and breath. It is interesting, but breath makes a lot of sense once you have taken qi gong because chi is cultivated through breath, which would then make you come up with another paradox. If chi is really breath, then what do you call arts dealing with chi? Better yet, if chi is only breath (in one translation) why so many health benefits? Man love those paradoxes...

well i perfer ki rather than chi, but they are basically the same things but with the same names but practiced in different martial arts > tai"chi"-and >ha "ki" do. when you fire a ki ball it exausts some of you energy the same way a running does. the stronger the ki ball is the more energy you have to use, hence, exausting you more.
if you gather ki from the moon, sun, ect. it doesnt take energy form you to create the ki ball, but it uses some of your own energy to blast it. does that answer you question at all[?]

not that it was really a question...[;)]

One thought here is that we have forgotten to breathe in such a way as to give us the abundance of energy to improve our lives. This idea is promoted in Tai-Chi and Yoga where one of the first things you are taught is how to breathe properly.

frozen flame_burning ice,
It is a good point that you make, and something I learned fairly early in my energy development, that energy is all around us. We don't need to deplete our own energy because we can draw on the abundance of energy all around us. Correct breathing, as is done in conjunction with energy work also does this.

The paradox is due to chi having several different, however slight, meanings.

This topic never goes away...

Wangting - what is your interest in chi balls? Are you healing? Creating an elementary? Or just curious?

Any method for energy projection, whether balls, volts, or streams (as in healing), draws energy from your own body in accordance with your will. If you project energy without drawing it from an external source, it will be sourced from the storage centres in your etheric body. This depletes you, and is a form of contamination, regardless of the spiritual purity of the projector. If the recipient is magically trained, and is sensitive enough to apprehend your energetic substance, they can use this against you (etheric matter is akin to blood) in any of a number of rituals. It is safer, less contaminating, and less depleting to source your energy externally in all projections. If projecting through your hands, draw energy through the feet or crown. Alternatively, draw via the left hand and project via the right. The quality of energy will vary with source (solar prana, earth prana, etc), emotional vibration (pub vs church), and the level of activity in your primary centres - these refine and transform.

For you to project energy, you should ideally be in trance (mid-Alpha at minimum, deep-Alpha or Theta is best). You should have a disciplined will (thought control) and you should have strong energetic awareness (either visual or tactile perception of energy). If you are a serious student, more than a poser, then you can atleast start with NEW. Learn a basic trance method - deep relaxation coupled with raising the eyeballs upwards and breath focus is enough for most. Persist with this and your trance state will deepen. When you begin to sense energetic movement, learn some basic but effective prana manipulation techniques. Two books that are excellent are:
- Qi Gong Empowerment, Shou-Yu Liang (basic guide)
- Your Hands Can Heal You, Stephen Co (excellent Pranic Healing guide)

You should not expect to project chi balls of any serious strength until you are competent at raising, moving and condensing prana. In addition, even masters cannot go around blasting holes in things - for this you need to control the elements, specifically Earth - and only after decades of practice can a novice expect to learn the full magic behind the abilities. That is far beyond the scope of your interests right now, but you will find many amazing abilities by progressing dilligently with the methods above. All manner of psychic ability is made available to those who are masters of their own energy body.

Don't ask too many questions. Do what you know, and results will surely come.

13...

First of all thank you for all the information and the book titles they were very enlightening.

>>Wangting - what is your interest in chi balls? Are you healing?Creating an elementary? Or just curious?

I am interested in ways of projecting energy. I my mind if you can project energy (of any form from the ones the you wrote about) that means that you have a deep understanding (or at least adequate understanding) of how energies around you work... of how the world around you works. So I am not interested in chi balls, specifically for blowing up things (there are better and quicker ways to do that). I am interested about which energy development systems can give you that insight (I know NEW is supposed to be one of them... if you have any other in mind please share.)

>>If you are a serious student, more than a poser...

No I am not a serious student... thats what I wish I can be after I read and practice...

But I am not a poser either. I just want to learn...
And questions raise along the way.

I am just starting researching the field of energies (I dont consider myself even a begginer). Thats why I posted about chi balls. I didnt knew the correct term of "energy projection". Anyway... my apologies to all the members of the form that were offended by the post.

I am very interested in chi balls and I have some questions. In some sites I have read that you visualize getting the energy from the sun, moon etc. so you dont have to use your energy... and in others that you visualize the energy coming from the lower Tan Tien to your hands. Also some say chi balls lower your energy level because you use your chi and some say it doesnt. I dont think there are straight answers or right and wrong here... let me know what each of you thinks.

Thanks
