Greetings KP,

You'll find all the information posted here on raising kundalini in this link, courtesy of Tom.

Included is a discussion on the subject with Robert Bruce. Theres a lot of reading there but I'm guessing you won't mind that.
I wish you the best. Hope something in there helps out.

Take care

This was the most helpful topic I've read on it.

I think its more of an event than something that happens gradually but not sure.  Robert Bruce was writing a book on it which would most likely be the best source on the subject out there (I cant find anything useful when I look), but I guess it was put on hold indefinitely.

KP,

THANK YOU

for asking a question in this forum that is NOT about KI or how to THROW IT at people!!!!!

PLEASE discuss this topic at length again. it would be a welcome change.

Gratefully,
James.

Hi Kp,
could you go into more details. Did you use  NEW or  other methods to stimulate? Where is the pain and the heat located?
My kundalini syndroms usually are quite plesant, even if they are so strong that they are overwhelming.
There is a good book on this topic by  Lee Sannella http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0685824772/qid=1053325429/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/002-0972312-0938411?v=glance&s=books
If you like I can give you other references too.

I'm not sure how it started or when it started.  I have been using NEW in the past, but not much.  I have been using techniques to enhance my awareness these last few months, as well as meditating a lot.

These last few weeks, a gentle energy has been moving upwards through my chest and stopping at blockages, this happens throughout the day and when I am more relaxed it becomes easier.  When I concentrate on the blockages, a bit of pain is felt and sometimes strong heat and then it moves up to the next blockage.  Energy has left my crown a few times, when this happens I feel wonderful but only for a few minutes, and then the process starts again from the bottom of my torso.

The other night I woke up from a sleep and had the most painful experience i've ever had, a strong type of hot, lightning bolt shot through me.  I had no control over myself, all I could do was watch.  The pain was there, but suprisingly no fear.  I had been drinking that night, a bad move I think.  I've now decided not to drink again until I am well.

I've read most of the stuff on the forum and a lot of websites and one book.  Most of the information I have found is all about "what" kundalini is.  I don't want to know what it is, I want to know what to do.  Perhaps it is something I need to deal with alone.  I don't even know what I am preparing for (if anything), but the energy continues to clear my blockages (if I help it) throughout the day and night.

Hi KP,

doesnt sound that bad! As long as you can endure it, go with it. Meditating of course keeps the process going. Be sure always to bring the energy down when you finish.
If the process get too tough, eating much, working with body and aspirine will help. I didnt test aspirine, but it was specially recomended to ease the kundalini syndrom.
The book I recomended is useful to see the range of experience with kundalini, as it provides many case reports.

Hi There,
Interesting experience, could you please tell us what awareness exercises you were doing?
Thanks,
M

KP

You're right, the experiences aren't bad right now.  I was just worried about the future, as to what happens afterwards.  Perhaps I should try to live more in the present.  I have heard some sort of  kundalini syndrome starts after this process is finished, and i've heard a lot of bad stories about that.

Thanks for recommending that book, I will look into it :)

The awareness exercising was something I was trying to bring into every moment.  Constantly watching what I was doing, espeically when walking.  I walk back and forth from work every day and this is a great time to take in the surroundings, watch myself walk and watch as the mind quietens down.  So I think it's just been a case of watching myself a lot more than usual, dropping useless thoughts which weren't helpful etc and carrying on happily listening to everything and being more accepting, more receptive.  In a way I have been trying to make each moment a type of meditation.

i recommend just going with them and riding them out.

as for the blockages, try to focus more on them when you energy pushes against them, and try "soothing" or "relieving" the blockages, or even just blasting right through them.

i've read some stuff that says kundalini awakenings can be dangerous, but it seemed like the accounts of those people who were "victims" of kundalini didn't have much "energy work" under their belt, so i'm thinking that if you work WITH whatever is happening (unless you STRONGLY feel like you should try to change what is happening in some way) then things should work out.

for instance, some times i'll start getting headaches due to various reasons. what i do to relieve them depends on what i feel like i should be doing. sometimes i'll draw my chi up my spine into my head and let it be converted into mental energy; sometimes i shield my mind off from the outside world to prevent energy from leaking out of it; sometimes i just have to sleep it off; sometimes i meditate and completely rebalance the energy in my body; etc.

so go with what your body is telling you to do, and work with it even if it doesn't make sense to you. and always remember that sometimes (but not always) things have to get worse before they can get better.

as well, it certainly shouldn't hurt to spend as much time as possible meditating and balancing your energies.

KP, what you experienced was a rush or surge of Kundalini that you were unprepared to deal with. Your descrptions of the pain of blocked chakras and sudden intense heat argree with descriptions by other people.
This is one reason why many Indian yogis and swamis caution patience when practicing yoga. It also explains why so many easterners believed that most westerners were not ready to learn the secrets of yoga. I am not attempting to scare or discourage you. Meditation on cleansing and clearing the 7 major chakras is a Very Important step in controlling kundalini. It is for this reason that most experts agree that a slow and steady approach is most effective.

KP

Is anyone experienced with kundalini?  Some sort of awakening has started and it's becoming quite painful and hot.  A book tells me one thing and websites tell me other things.  I'm confused how to handle my experience, and I am afraid.  Would appreciate replies/private messages.
