accidental major chakra stimulation?

Greetings  everyone,
I am relatively new here. I just started reading Astal Dynamics. A few days before the book  arrived, I had a shaky experience that involved my energy body. Since I have only been meditating sporadically, I am amazed at the way my body seems to respond. Anyway, I ended up having  a real-time experience. Several different things happened throughout the night. First I saw my mom wandering around and heard her real as could be. (I can only think she was unknowingly projecting and I happened to see her with my astral sight) then I went trancey again and felt as if I was being pulled out of my body through my legs, it turns out it was my own body doing it. then I projected and hovered close to my bed in real time, for only seconds, with the quite apparrent vibrations before and after. After that, the rest of the night was filled with extremely vivid dreams and visions of psychic sights etc. (to condense a long story). Well the next day I felt horrible! I had to take my mom out shopping in town, for the day and I felt like I was on bad speed trip or something, my hearing was ultra sensitive all my major chakra areas were buzzing, in the throat I felt a choking sensation my heart area was poundy the head area spacy and disconnected and so on... I thought maybe I was getting the flu, and I could hardly stand to be out in the crowds, it was just brutal. It didnt start abating until that evening, but it did leave me feeling great the next few days:).  Anyway finally my question is..I was wondering after reading about the main energy centers in Astral Dynamics, if when I meditate, I have been inadvertently setting them off. Its a meditation I made up myself...The condensed version follows...
First I lay down and picture a white light entering through my feet. Not only is this a healing light its a muscle relaxing light that fills my body on the in breath, while expelling any negativity on the out breath. I tell myself any outside noise and every breath I take deepens the relaxation. Anyway I send the light all the way through my body including all my major chakras. having it exit out the crown chakra and re-enter through my feet, building like a protective cocoon around my body. Then I do some focus work, alternating with visualization exercises.
Perhaps also with doing psychic exercises etc. such as guessing how many emails for example using my inner minds eye, also I regularly go to a psychic testing website,  I may be opening my chakra areas too soon? I don't want to have a premature kundalini awakening. So if anyone of you has any input on this I would most appreciate hearing from you. Thanx in advance

Perhaps you're more sensitive to energy build-up than most.

Make sure to unload (ie. ground) the energy you draw into yourself when you're done withthe meditation.

Do a search on these forums for Grounding for some techniques to do that.

I can not emphasise enough the importance of grounding, especially when starting out.  You can avoid so many problems by getting good at it  :lol:
There is a physical limitation upon how much light a human body can sustain. Interestingly, there is no limit on how much light a human vessel can generate. When fully enlightened you must instill your light in order to maintain its wisdom.

Those experiences sound really cool.  That you put together your own meditation then got all sorts of psychic overload. Wild! I am sure it is pretty scary and exhausting in the end. You must be pretty sensitive from the start. My wife, who otherwise seems to have no spiritual interests told me that years ago she would just lie there in bed visualizing her being one with the sun or something and just "float" and be filled with energy.  Usually I just follow the rules from books and have at most lucid dreams. I read a lot of such experiences (ecollie, kundalin sites) where people got so super sensitive they cannot go out at all where lots of people are or the light bulbs burn out or the radio goes on and off or the neighbour's house burns down, etc.

I do yoga to ground and relax myself and keep the energy flowing evenly through the chakras. Do what works for you and stay aware of what you are feeling.
A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.

One pointer I would suggest would be to watch your thoughts very closely and train yourself to dwell on good thoughts and possibilities and avoid the opposite.  I have found that our thoughts are very powerful in creating what we will encounter down the road and have had many confirmations of this in my life recently.

Is grounding the same as closing the chakras? I read in one book (though I didn't do the exercises since they're advanced, only reading ahead) that you open your chakra as fully as possible, imagine it being cleaned out, then shut it both on the front and the back side.

I just now found all these replys. Well yes these experiences are very cool in one way, especially the days following I felt so light and happy. I do try to watch my thoughts because they can be powerful. I already am sensitive around electronics and even the car radio comes on and off by itself, changes channels, volume goes up and down it even changes my presets. And Last year we had this power surge that required calling the fire dept. It nearly set our house on fire, smoke was pouring out of my mom's tv.  It blew out all our major electrical appliances my computer, my moms tv, microwave etc. When we called the power company the next day he said "Well its sure not coming from in this house, it must be the fault of the power company" So he called them and told them and they put us on their insurance policy and reimbursed us for everything that blew out. Funny thing was, just a few days prior we were discussing how old my moms tv was and how she would need a new one, also My computer had been acting very wonky and we figured it was also time for a new one and then PRESTO this happened! Anyway I guess yes there is some sensitivity there. I havn't meditated much since because each time I do the symptoms have been coming back though not to the extent of that one time. Also ok I hope this doesnt sound too weird but in for a penny in for a pound, We have come to the conclusion we may have a ghost here, the signs are all there, including my dog cowering in my arms and staring at a certain spot while swallowing nervously, also sounds of doors opening , my mom hears crashing and banging at night etc. A guy that used to rent a room next door, hung himself several years ago, I dreamed of him the night he did it. I dreamed he had stood in a crowd and was waving goodbye to me, the next day I found out he had hung himself, so we figure it's him and hes welcome here if he feels comfortable. He hasnt been much trouble, though he did throw my dad's picture down on the floor 5 feet from where it hung on the wall, but it landed on a rug so it didnt break or even crack . Whew I think I needed to vent!! :) Thanks to those of you who stuck it out this long lol .
