It depends on prior training and experience, how much you work each day, how well you work each day, and what your ultimate goal is.  Then of course there are issues with blockages etc.

The simple answer is keep progressing until you hit a bump and have to backtrack?  It's okay to read ahead.  I'm a firm believer of "try and see", at least you can get feedback here and not just sit ther and wonder if your doing it right?
There is a physical limitation upon how much light a human body can sustain. Interestingly, there is no limit on how much light a human vessel can generate. When fully enlightened you must instill your light in order to maintain its wisdom.

Thanks Rastus, I guess it is a very relative question.  I'll just go with my instinct.  But for a more objective question, how can you tell when you hit a blockage, do you not feel any sensations, or is there some other way of knowing?

well, in response to your first question:  I have a problem with keeping interested with my current work when I know there's a whole lot more I could try ;).  If you are doin the online version of NEW there is nothing in there that will harm you in any way.  If you have AD I would shy away fromt he primary circuit until you feel you are ready, as doing it too soon myself I had to sleep like 16 hours a day for a week to recover some of the drain, although I didn't follow even the rccomendations that you work only one center at a time.  Now, as to how I started with the secondary system, like I said I'm easily distracted so I read the whole online program in a day.  I kind of just jumped around as to which body parts I practiced on, but I did hands and feet everyday.  Then I would go to other joints randomly.  This worked for me and has worked for a lot of poeple I've introduced ot NEW.  Don't worry about moving too fast on the secondary circuit, as any work you do on this is beneficial whether you notice it right away or not.  Just do what works for oyu as they say on this forum a lot.

As for blockages, mine were associated with two feelings.  The minor blockages I actually got pain when I tried to force energy through the area.  However, this mean that some energy was making through.  I did have areas that I had major blockages with no sensations on them at all.  I found, for me, the easiest way to break these up was to imagine my energy flowing around it like a river around rock and gradually wearing it down till I got the familiar pain of forcing more energy through an area than it was used to.  Then it's almost broken up.  Some of the others I've helped never got he pain though, so it seems to be person by person.  I hope this helps a bit.

I agree with what Rastus & Marker said!

I actually cleared a major blockage a couple of days ago and felt an incredible pain there; it was feeling tender for nearly 24 hours afterwards but now it feels great and really clear, and left me feeling really happy after the initial shock [:O][:D].  I think it's loosened some other blockages too, so I agree that following your instincts is the right way to go.  I also think that clearing one major blockage can have a knock-on effect with others and it can all happen quite suddenly.

An interesting side-effect of energy work is that your instincts/intuition seems to improve, so the more you practice, the more you get a feeling of what's the right way to go for you personally.

I've mostly been working on my feet and hands... I feel a bit of pain, but nothing major... think I'm going to move onto my arms and legs.

I'm so glad that I found this site... didn't even know I was looking for it, but isn't that always the way? :)

Ok, so my question.
I have started working with the NEW system.  I am currently working on my feet and hands, becoming aware, and opening them conciously the the energy that is all around us.  How long should I spend on these parts before moving on?
