Greetings Bhikku!

I can only speculate wildely on this.

It might be that the intense white backdrop for your vision resulted in very little in the way of the usual complex and varied sensory input, and in a sense it resulted in a type of meditation where your mind is clear, and you can see images, possibly Astrally.

To put it another way, during day to day activity, your eyes and mind have a large amount sensory input to take in and process, and therefore swamp the subtler images and realms.

I hope that makes sense anyway - and of course I might be well off beam - it is just a thought

Best regards,

Adrian.

Those little sparks are caused from straining your eye muscles.  Because it was all white, and "flat" looking, you had to strain your eyes to find your depth perception.  Try this and see if you get the same result.  Stand up straight, turn you head to the side as far as you can while at the same time make your eyes look to the same direction, strain them by looking to the side really hard.  I bet you'll get the same little sparks.

OK this is a bit hard for me to explain but here it goes. This weekend I went snowboarding for the first time in a few years. This is something that I love to do, and used to teach and compete in the sport for years. So when I went this weekend, it was like putting a fish back in water. I was so happy and excited to be doing it again, but I noticed something really strange. Since it was snowing the whole time and there was heavy cloud cover, everything was a consistant white- the sky, the ground, everything looked the same. What I noticed was as I started going down the trails, I started seeing bluish/whitish "sparks" circling and moving rapidly through my vision. These were not physically there, and I could definitly tell them apart from the falling snow. They seemed almost like the "stars" you see if you were to bang your head on something, they also did not impair my vision in any way. I didn't notice them at all while riding on the ski lifts, or while standing at the bottom of the mountain, only while riding. It almost seems like they were influenced by my level of excitement/ exhileration. Any idea of what this was that I was seeing? Was it my own energy/aura? Thanks.
