Don't know about a difference in energies but the reason you have less  enery related sensations in your hands may be because we tend to use our hands more with a specific intention. Legs we just walk on and normaly don't pay all that much attention.

...Now tat I think of it the difference in enery qualitiess may be due to a difference iin the basic function of arms and legs. Legs are more like supports hence an affinity to earth, arm are more manipulative relating them to what? air or water perhaps?

Reiki is usually used through the hands, so I find that my hands are much more sensitive to energy than my feet. I've read that people who do shiatsu often find their elbows becoming sensitive to flows of energy because they often use elbows to apply pressure to acupressure points in addition to their hands. Massage, too, tends to make the hands more sensitive. It sounds odd to me to have the feet be more sensitive to energy than the hands.

Alpha I know what your sayin....my arms have absolutely no sensations except maybe my hands.  I have no clue why.  My legs are really easy I can raise energy through them walking. :-)

I didn't reach that part in AD yet, but it squares with a few other things I read on meditation from {what I think is} a buddhist perspective.  A few quotes about various meditation postures from a section of the website http://members.tripod.com/internalart/main.htm -

"In the standing posture, Heavenly chi (Universal Chi) can come in from the crown of the head, and Earth Chi can come in from the sole of the feet"

..and,

"[In] sitting postures, the hands can be place either overlapped in front of the dantien or on the knee palms up. This allows us to receive energy from the Heaven (Universal Chi). Together with the energy received from soles of the feet, especially in the Full Lotus, the whole body is bathed in heavenly chi. This Universal Chi, which is yang in nature, will ascend upward to the higher centers for advanced meditation."

So it appears that the source of the energy (Earth or Heaven) depends not on which limbs you grab it from, but where they're pointing.

there probably isn't much of a difference, unless you are absorbing while you are in or around a node or leyline of a specific kind of energy.

I was just wondering,I tend to be more of a leg person. My arms, I dont really get those strong energy feelings like in my legs.So I guess thats why I dont use them nearly as much, when raising energy.

What are the differences between these 2 types of energys?
