Well, this one time...

I just came off a failed AP attempt and was a little peeved.  So I jokingly shot a psi ball randomly.  Half a second later one of my posters comes off the wall in the same direction i fired.  The poster was hung by tacks, and it was not ripped.  Freeky  O_O

Some people have broken digital watches by working energy work while wearing their watch. It is usually not a good thing to damage electronic devices as a side effect. As for breaking things intentionally, why do it?

Squeek

Fun?  Anger?  Annoyance?  If something's borken and you just don't feel like fixing it, break it!  It's fun AND lets you know if you get any results!  Quick and easy!  Alot of exclamation points!  Whee!

If a person was good enough at energy work they broke something or hurt someone with it they wouldnt go around telling people.

A lot of it is wishful thinking and coincidence.  A lot of people are very willing to fool themselves.  I dont get the purpose of it but its BS.  Go look at any ki site the people there are obviously masters.

I was reading auraseers site out of curiousity.  there were people saying they were saiyan(sp?) aliens or whatever they are and they have all these powers.  Its nothing but kids and their imaginations.

Whatever you want to think goingslow. As for me, I think that you can damage things with ki. Like when I was training with a friend, I made a very good ki ball and threw it at him and he felt a tingly burn where I threw it, 5 mins later I said "Wanna do it again?", and he said "Okay, but I can still feel the effect from the last one!" LOL!

Tom

In my opinion it is a matter of picking the right tool for the job. If you want to smash an object or hurt a friend then a hammer is a good choice. It doesn't take extensive training to use, either.

It is also possible that violent tendencies should not be encouraged.

Squeek

Yea which raises another question...

Why would you even attempt to involve energy work with combat?  First of all...how often do you get in fights that you even have the time to prepare for it like this?  Are you part of a fight club or sumfin?  yeesh...

Apart from Tom's point about unintentional damage being done to electronic object while working with energy, I will maintain the  stance on this subject I've always had. The time and mental dicipline it takes to truly be able to produce such levels of energy needed to hurt someone or damage something should put you in a position where you hopefully have the patience, understanding and wisdom to NOT want to use this energy for pointless destructive pursuits.

Consider looking through posts on this forum that might give some idea of the truly wonderful, uplifting and beneficial things that can be done with such energy.

ss_majin_gohan

Well, to answer the question of why would you even want to damage things? To test your limits and encase you are in a life or death situation! THAT'S WHY!

Tom

The only way to determine what response one will have in a "life or death" situation is to be in this sort of situation. It is not possible to measure that response in advance. To seek out such situations will provide false results. Worse, there could be lasting consequences.

ss_majin_gohan

What I meant is that it is good to have the ability encase of emergency, or if someone has a gun and you got NOTHIN'!

Tom

For most people the best thing to do in that sort of situation is to pray. In my own case, it is more reasonable to prepare for the next life.

ss_majin_gohan

Yes, you CAN always pray, but that won't necessarily stop someone from attacking you! So I say, pray, then wait, if nothing happens, then you are ready with energy! Even if it is just creating a ki ball just to scare the poop outta them! And if they don't get scared, shoot it at something (not necessarily them) and do damage! THIS IS WHY YOU TRAIN WITH KI FOR PHYSICAL DAMAGE!!!!!!!!

goingslow

It seems like a waste of time to work so hard on something as beneficial as energy work with the purpose of causing physical damage in case a person pulls a gun on you?

hmmm lets pretend for a minute I thought a ki ball could disarm a person holding a gun.. no lets not.

Think of the physical force that would require.  unless they're standing 6 inches from you..

nevermind.. this is just getting silly.

Simply because, once there IS combat, energy combat would be its highest and purest form.
Even if not using aggressively, energy as a shild for YOU can be a blessing.

Degrading the situation--energy in a combat situation can be used to avoid/escape combat.

But to use energy in combat you must be very powerful and have absolute control--in street situations most attackers are angry, and that makes them OOZE negative energy which can easily dillute your own. Then its just back to fists, knees and elbows. :-))

EXACTLY what I was thinking the_demigod! I mean, what are the chances that you are even GOING to GET in a fight? Well, the point is, it would be EXTREMELY useful if you DID actually get into a fight! I can already send a tiny shockwave through my body when I punch myself with ki in my fists! It makes my body tingle after I punch myself! LOL! The shockwave makes the attack MUCH stronger! Just think of when I am actually strong with my ki and stuff, if it came to it, I could probably end a battle in one punch, (not like killing them or anything, just so you know[;)] I am just saying like, bring them to their knees!) but I would only use it like that if it was an emergency or something, say you don't want to fight and they won't just LET you walk away, and you HAVE to fight!

Tarconiss

In a sence... i actually have used energy inside a fight. Not to the extent to shoot an anergy ball at someone and haveing them be blown away, or even burned by it.... but i have been able to use energy to enhance the blow of the strike i was useing. And I've even shown the difference of useing and not useing energy, when it comes to both attack and defending yourself. Being able to course energy to either create more of a stronger impact, or to send your energy into a person through a strike, in order to disrupt a persons natural energy flow causeing extreme discomfort/pain, in or around that certain area of the body..... Though it took about 10 seconds to focus and draw the energy, i've sent a Strong flow of energy through my friends chest, after putting my palm to his chest.... he braced himself for it, and afterward told me he hasn't felt anything that strong move through him, since he got zapped by an outlet... I felt kindof proud, knowing that i wasnt useing near full energy capacity, though it was a decent chunk of my personal energy at the time....

In a fight energy can be manipulated to brace yourself, or to enhance your strike, or even just to do a light touch, to send a course of negative energy into a person, to cause cramping or discomfort through energy blockages. But hopefully i wont ever have to resort to doing such self-forbidden methods of fighting for life-or-death.... and if it does come to that.... i feel pity for the person to antagonize me so much as to do that...

I was wandering what damage you have done to an object, or a friend with energy. Like just training or really mad at the person ect. And how long have you been training to get that strong?
