Hi Mustard,

Thats alot of work just to get your Reiki started.  All I do is think the thought of Reiki or say to myself start and it fly's out of my hands.

Thought and Intent activates it.

Sincerely,

I posted the technique for beginners, or people who are interested in starting in Reiki, they need to have more info or detail to understand how to make this tech work.[|)]

Reiki doesn't come from in you or atleast it shouldn't.  It should come from around you.  The difference between reiki and other types of healing techniques is that the healer is a channel through which reiki flows.  Also reiki responds to intent so you don't need all those steps all you have to do is have the desire to heal.  But you do need to be attuned first unless you are one of the lucky people who were born a healer at which time you are most likely already connected.

A beginner can't simply focus reiki in his or her hands and expect it just to come out without understanding or having any clue on how to actually release it in the first place.
To become "attuned", is what am trying to help people with by posting this technique , that's all.[:(!]
I don't know what you mean by reiki not coming inside from you, but  I use pure raw energy from the chakra below my navel, and it works really good.

The idea behind Reiki is that it works without understanding how it works. The Reiki energy has an intelligence of it's own, and by visualizing the energy doing various things as you do, you interfere with that... by that you may well do some kind of energy healing/manipulation, but that's not Reiki.
A beginner focuses on the intent to heal, and the energy comes out of his hands automagically... it's a natural mechanism that doesn't need (and doesn't want) to be controlled.

And what's more, in my opinion Reiki is no 'tech'... it's no 'technique' you can learn and apply in that sense, because it is mainly an intuitional healing art, with no fixed techniques that only serve to make things complicated. It's a gift from above that is granted to whoever wishes to use it for healing others and himself. People who are interested in starting Reiki should consider getting a teacher who shows them what it's all about and explains some background...

Okay fine nobody has to listen to what I wrote down , it's not like any of you even tried the technique before you replied, but I guess if someone tells me no that's not the way it works I should listen huh.

mustard,

I'm sorry if my message came around in the wrong tone; I do not deny that your exercise indeed does have certain effects on both the physical and the subtler bodies, but I wanted to point out that the visualisations you do have nothing to do with Reiki directly, as I see it. It is _one_ way to get sensible of energy and to feel it, and to learn to calm the mind - both are beneficial to doing reiki, yes, but I object to calling this visualization "a reiki technique", that's all.

The process of attunement always needs someone to introduce you to that energy, be it a physical teacher or a spirit guide. I think with Reiki not coming from inside of you, it was meant that in Reiki you are merely a channel for energy, not directing it by your will! It's more that Reiki directs you to do the right thing if you're sensible to your intuition, so for example there's no need for medical background and much analytic thinking with Reiki, - it does what is right for the person that is being trated. There are other approaches to healing that involve building up energy and "pushing" it out consciously of your hands (or pulling it in), but that's different from Reiki... other Reiki practitioners will probably agree here.

Please don't feel irritated by those objections, and post whatever exercises you find useful, even if the terminology used is sometimes not the same among people [:)]

Thanks Edi[;)], apology accepted, I overreacted a little, sorry[|)].

Make sure you read and follow every step.[8)]

In your house, apartmen't....get some rest durring the day so you can do this at night, you can still try it at daytime, but you'll be more focused and calm at night when everyone is at sleep and its quiet.

Before you begin, first meditate for appropriate time untill you know you're calm and free of unwanted taughts.
Sit in your comfortable meditation position.
Close your eyes.
Begin visualizing your body skeleton covered in oil in a dark environment or complete darkness because you'll get the visual much better whith using dark and white.
The skeleton covered in oil visualization will make it alot easier
to focus your chi moving through your bones instead of tissue.

Imagine your dan tien(abdomen chakra)burning and glowing brighter.
Once you have a good image of your chakra, start focussing fire catching the oil and try to controll it with visualization on where it goes, let the fire from your abdomen spread SLOWLY to an down your arm.

Then visualize the fire escaping like gass through your hands, oh and make sure your hands are cupped close to each other.
You should feel heat in your hands, which means you successfully released a very small amount reiki.[:)]
Please post results, am interested if it worked for anyone besides me.
