Acupuncture with Reiki?

Reiki is very simple. Chi kung is very complicated. NEW is like chi kung, but easier to use. Maybe after you put all the needles in place you can direct reiki to the whole body through the crown chakra or the feet. You might also find adding energy to the needles before inserting them makes a difference.

Interesting.  I know I must do some more research on the subject.  I would really like to talk with my acupuncturist, but hes not responding to my email.  I'm sure in time the opportunity will arise.  Thats a good point you make Tom about energizing the needles before they are put into use.  Thanks for the input, I'll see what I can find.  Have a good day.

Rather than acupuncture which is complex to learn, lengthy and ultimately mechanical in nature, why not get involved in the Meridian Tapping Techniques such as TFT, EFT, ET, TAT, TAB etc.

These techniques are extremely effective, non-invasive, have shamanic applications and fit with Reiki like a glove.

You can check these Meridian Tapping Techniques at  http://theamt.com (Association For Meridian & Energy Therapies) where you will find free protocols etc.

Lucious, Are meridian therapies really as good as acupuncture? My gp has recommended acupuncture to me but I can't seem to get past the 'hellraiser' image that some how has become entangled with it. Non invasive (if the benefits are still there) sounds definetly better.

Best Wishes (and a prosperous new year everyone),

Jim.

Personally, I think they're better. No needles as you say but also, much more flexible bec. you focus your attention on the problem whilst tapping on the points. That way it is useful not just for the usual illness but for psychological problems and all sorts. Also, you get to do it yourself rather than having to go for treatment sessions.

Just try it, nothing to lose.

Acupressure and acupuncture are generally studied to help other people. There is a variation on the idea called meridian meditation which involves tracing through your meridians (mobile body awareness) to examine them and clear and blocks as you find them. Just study where the meridians are, center yourself, raise some energy, go into a light trance, and imagine you are small enough to move around inside of your meridians. Have fun.

Lucius

That sounds interesting. Any specific books, sites etc about that to learn more?

hey lucius,
thanks for offering that site and information.  This is the first time I had heard of this kind of therapy, and it sounds quite interesting.  I was wondering if you have had any experience with these tapping methods, either ordering the video set from emofree.com or getting the technique performed on yourself.  I cannot imagine the healing capabilities this technique may have when combine with reiki.  Good stuff.

love, light, and peace my friends,

Meridians have always been too complicated for me. Reiki is much easier that way in that there is almost nothing to memorize and even less to think about. Mantak Chia and B. K. Frantzis are well respected authors, though, and maybe you can find something decent by them.

Has anyone used Reflexology?  It goes along with meridian or zone therapy.
You can do it yourself...foot massage , and it works the meridians while you massage.  Just find the sore spots and massage...don't just rub.
I have had very good results using reflexology.....and it is not invasive either.
I should think it would go very well with reiki.
Only massage the feet about every 3 days...don't overstimulate.

Ninethplanet,

yes I have been doing EFT for three years now. It is really excellent and it does combine very well with Reiki.

There is a piece of research which shows that if EFT practitioners add an overall Reiki re-balancing to the end of the treatment, people are happier and the referral rates are higher. This is thought to be because EFT causes big shifts in the energy system which can confuse and unbalance people, leaving them uncertain as to what has happened or in "Apex" which is when they totally forget they ever had the problem, or even that they had the treatment.

Tom, although EFT is meridian based, you don't have to know anything about meridians (I don't and I'm considered an expert on energy therapies). Just remember the base 14 points and that's it.

It is very good for panic and anxiety "in the field", i.e. when one is in the middle of the situation, rather than in a therapists office. EFT is actually primarily a self help technique and a bloody good one at that.

As I begin to consider Eastern medicine as a career, while also becoming influenced by even less known techniques, such as reiki, I cant help but try to think of ways to combine them.  Presently, my brother is being attuned in reiki and slowly he is sharing his knowledge with me on the subject.  Since I know a decent amount about the practice of acupuncture, I was wondering if the use of needles to adequately unblock energy pathways combined with reiki, which helps to move and add healing energies, would prove more successful.  I am aware that another form of Eastern medicine is practiced called Qi Gong, and this practice is similar to reiki, but I definitely do not know the exact similarites.  Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone here has any more knowledge of reiki and acupuncture, and possibly if they have heard of them ever being combined.  Thanks.

Wishing everyone a beautiful day,
