i don't drink but a friend of mine and my uncle both told me that i shouldn't ever if i was in any type of pain.  both said it intensified the feeling.  i thought it was wierd too until i rememberd that the few times that i have smoked weed it had the same effect.

That's the thing with alcohol - it does intensify your mood.  If you have a drink when you're depressed you feel worse.  On the other hand, if you're feeling great and you have a drink you get carried away on a high.

I dont drink much anymore as I tend to get hangover symptoms after an hour which tends to spoil the effect.

i can't handle my alcohol at all.  i get the same symptoms immediately after drinking.  a friend of mine had me drink w/ him once and made me drink a full glass of water after each beer.  i felt great.  there were no problems.  the next morning when woke up i was still drunk but that's it.  there were absolutely no hangover symptoms.  makes you pee like someone that was drinking a glass of water in between each beer though.

The most recent time when I decided to drink, I found that instead of becoming less sensitive to my body I was becoming more so. My neck, shoulders, upper back, lower back, and forehead all began to hurt. It wasn't that I had a hangover. This happened as soon as I started to feel the effects of the alcohol. I have been tense and stressed for some time now, and my ability to relax has been missing. It seems that when I started drinking, I found myself becoming aware of my tension. It became possible to do something about it. Weird, isn't it?
