Does anyone know of a good reference (website or book) that gives suggestions about how chronic pain and illnesses can be treated with specific emotional healing? For instance (and this is just an example) if someone has chronic lower back pain, what kind of emotion might they be suppressing or not dealing with?
I have seen books like this but can't recall what they are right now. I know that it will be different for everyone, but it helps to have a starting place when you're trying to sort through things.

Some chiropractors use systems that can be astonishingly effective at helping with this, but you kind of have to pick and choose to find the right one.
I have always been told by my healers that low back pain is related to "feeling unsupported in life" and is often related to TMJ problems which are linked to "unspoken words" that need to be spoken.
Louise Hay
You Can Heal Your Life used to be the basic reference for people interested in the physical/emotional/metaphysical links. Most people I knew never read the whole book, just used the reference lists at the back.
I think the field has come a long way since then altho this isn't my area (although perhaps it should be)
People I work with now really like John Sarno
The Mind Body Prescription and
The Mind Body Workbook I have not read them so have no personal experience.
Thank you, Chimarae, I'll check out the book.

Hi Naiad. :)
I've also heard that chronic pains or fears can be from cell memory of a past-life. Lets say for instance in your example, the chronic lower back pain could be a cell memory of someone whom was shot, or stabbed in that paticular spot in a past-life. I've also read that some birthmarks and such can also be cell memories.
What Chimerae said makes sense as well. I sometimes wonder if my stomach problems are due to me dealing with things in my life..or not dealing with them I should say.
It's all very fasinating non the less, isn't? :D

Nay,
Once again, just passing on what I've been told by healers and those involved in intense healing --
I have been told that true stomach problems are related to dilmenas of power/order/judgement/discernment, especially control issue (even good control issues)
Sometimes they say this is a battleground between our heart chakra issues (interconnectedness with others) and our 2nd chakra needs for feeling with our own emotions and dealing with them. In our culture that can seem really hard to resolve.

That makes sense if it means I'm fighting against being controlled! or does that mean, I'm controlling, which would make sense also, because I'm trying to control the control that is being pushed on me.. :P
I think I have a good handle on my emotions..I'm pretty honest with myself about that. If I'm ticked, I'll be ticked..if I'm happy, I'll be happy. :D
Very interesting! thank you very much, Chimerae
Take Care,
