Reiki

Hm, i have one of my relatives who is teaching reiki.
He got some books and found some people involved into it to help him. But he is in energy healing anyway so it comes easy to him.
May be you should find out people that practicise any form of energy healing to help you.
Hm, teaching by yourself is a hard task i think. [|)]

I think it's best to find somebody you can work with in person. However, if that's not a possibility there are websites that will attune you to the different levels. I strongly suggest you to talk to a number of experienced practitioners and get their advice before you head down that road though. I don't know how reliable these internet attunements are or if they are safe or not.
I wish i could help you there, but i haven't been attuned that long and i certainly don't have much experience at all, especially with that sort of thing.
Oh and be aware that some reiki teachers charge the earth and more!
Maybe an alternative healing practice could be employed if either of those fails.

Logic, I would love to help you out but as it is right now I am working with several different people and I start back to school tomorrow so I don't have much time left but might I recommend you visit www.sharereiki.org and check out the forum there are many people there that are will to help.  But if during the process you have questions I can help out as needed.

I am very interested in learning as well.

I read one thin book on Reiki, and I had my doubts, but I tried it and the results were astounding!

I massaged various plaaces on me Honey and she was able to tell right away where I was using Reiki and where I wasn't.  I didn't even tell her what I was intending or that I had read the book.  I just applied it, and caused in the affected area!

I'm converted, and very interested in following this up.

Hi everyone:

I was born with an ability of Reiki, but I didn't know what it was or what it is call'd.  

When I reached 45 years old my wife's friend came over because Debbi told her I like that stuff, so Bridgett came over.

She started the Attunement and stop in about 30 seconds. As she was doing the Attunement I sent a surge of energy up into her palms.  She pulled away and said "I shouldn't be doing this your already there"  I said "What do you mean" and she said "Your already a healer"  

Then she told me the history of Reiki, so she expain'd the principals and hand positions to do Reiki.

I used it on my first First Aid treatment on my friend Dean. About 2 years ago he cut the tips of his two fingers off near the first knuckle on his had on the lawn mower.

When he came back from the hospital they where all bandaged up and he was in great pain.

I ask him if he wanted to try Reiki and he said "Frank IM in so much pain I'd take anything."  So I treated him with it, with in 30 seconds the pain was gone.  I gave him Reiki for 45 minutes 3 times that week.

I told him that his fingers would heal very quickly and the won't be black and blue or swollen.

So Dean and his wife Tracy went back to the doctors a week later and when the bandages came off the doctors where surpassed, the fingers where bright pink and they weren't swollen.

Some yes I would go for it and be attuned.

How does attunement work?  How does one do attunement?

Simply put an attunement is the aligning of the energy body with the reiki energy.  In essense you are like a radio and reiki is a radio station.  During the attunement process you are tuned in to the reiki energies and therefore you can then let them flow freely within and through you.  With each higher attunement you are being tuned in a little better, some of the static is being cut out and the signal is becoming stronger.  I use the radio analogy because it is something we are all familiar with and tends to make sense to most people.

The actual process of attuning varies between the different types of reiki.  For example in Usui Reiki the process consists of signing specific symbols in a particular order over various places around the body.

Link Shadow is right, my Instructor Bridget said it this way to simplify it.  

She said "Think of yourself as a garden hose, the garden hose was inactive for many years and dirt gets in the hose".  When you try to turn on the faucet a little water trickles out.  But as the time go's by the water pushing out the dirt and the water comes out stronger and faster.  Then in time all the dirt is washed out completely and the water flows out freely with no obstructions".

So as the spirit guides channel Reiki through the top of my head I can channel it down my neck, into the shoulders, down my arms and out my hands.
