I'm pretty sure he was the kind of guy that enjoyed humor in other peoples ignorance, so much that he encouraged it. When you look at his works objectively, you'll realize he's none of the things listed above.

Read "A Magick Life". It is a book about his life. Pretty unbiased book that takes a look at what he did and stood for. The guy certainly led an amazing life, but most of what is out there about him is rumor.

He was named the most wicked man alive primarily because he didn't believe in the church and went out of his way to do everything that was considered a sin. Homosexuality was also a main reason that he was believed to be so wicked.

I agree.....its not what was said but how one went ahead and did it....

i would also like to say that crowley....one that formed thelema....also knew about balance, for not making a world wide effort to showcase his gifts...but to entrust this knowledge upon all and let them decide what to do....
