Looks to me like someone has spent a lot of time developing a nice story for the wishful thinking.....basically, it's trying to convince you that you can put your energy into a stick of wood, then use it to change the world....I don't reckon so!

Magic wands and staffs among other items are actually a reality since the times of Egypt (i.e. staff of life, the ahnk, etc). Reality my friends, is actually far more fantastic than any fantasy! However, you'd be wasting much time and experiencing much frustration trying to use/create any such objects when first you haven't even mastered your own mind. The power of such magical items needs to be charged by a magician who already has those abilities and energy to start with.  Once the item contains the power which is a reflection of your own, on a day you are not feeling so powerful/energetic you may use that object to help you perform your work. The process of creating such items is however, *far* more detailed than what was on either of those two links, but again the key ingredient is a strong mental YOU. So work on yourselves first, then worry about exteriorizing your abilities.

If you know what your intentions are and you believe in it then just make it so. Visualize the outcome and tell it to be so. That is real Magick, the magick that you do and not a wooden stick. Many folks find it easy to direct this way but I believe it is because they need a visual aid.
Learn about yourself and be true to yourself, learn to love and understand mankind, learn to forgive, learn to be honest with your thoughts, keep a clean mind in everything you do and most of all be thankful that you can live another day to provide healing to this much needed World of ours. We need to heal our Earth and to provide for future generations better understanding of our Home.
One more thing and I found this the hard way, once you learn to direct energy this way please be careful for what you wish for and I mean it. Even the little wishes come true but if it were in a negative way watch out because nature has a way of reclaiming granted wishes and it's not nice. Kinda like the witches 3 fold rule.

I would (pardon the pun on sticks), actually disagree that staff's and wands are not capable of enhanching your powers. My argument behind this purely comes from the fact that nature is (mostly) left to revolve on it's own, as a stem is stripped of its saplings this piece of wood could for all intents and purposes take the energy that those saplings used to grow, back into it's inner stem. But whittleing a piece of wood back to it's staff state there should be no reason that the staff could not feel it's existing saplings, and enhance what ever power you have enbalmed the wood with.

However this could just all be wishfull thinking, but I for one believe in geokenisis. I can only make understanding from this by the trees and their structure's through to holding the ground together and communicating via vibrations to one another. Certain insects also actually use the structure of a plant to communicate under ground to other insects on plants miles away from the one they are sat on.

If you are interested in Natural understanding of Earth forces (other than plate-techtonics), I would advise you look in to the actual physical structure of the plants and methods that insect/animal kind use the plants put here for us.

In the same way people can get a greater understanding of the universe and time by eating mushrooms, a short read into how one insect can communicate with other's through leaf's and stems can reveal a whole load about nature. Also a look at wood structure could reveal the different types of wood and their uses in staff making, study the growth patterns and make correlations between physical structure of the grain (two way interwoven, single way tight formation, overlapping lava effects, single way wide grain, meandering grain, fleck patterns, etc).

When you go about making a staff keep all this in mind and study what could "to you" make a good correlation in your mind.

i.e.
This wood type had a tight grain, although broken allowing for interdispersal of wood-chi, it is also a dark wood, and is classed as a hardwood.

By putting two and two together, stripping a limb then it's saplings (smaller shoots), and removing the bark; this piece of wood could make a good magick fire staff. Given the time and mastery of fire magick, as Adept_of_Light said you need to be fully confident before you try to amplify a power through this means. Imagine creating a small fireball with a staff that you have given so much care and attention to, to keep all the energy contained from the off-shoots within the main staff; then you practice your fireball and find the staff has exagerated the power so much your staff is but a burning cinder at the end.

  Any staff or wand is just a focus for power that you yourself generate. It just concentrates the flow of your own power. You can charge the objects just like Adept of Light says is possible but it is not a cure all to make it so you do magic.
  Everyone's power is generated by their connection to God. It is not your own personal power. Anyone with natural abilities did so much work upon themselves in a past life time that it carried over into this one.

As for the wand, it's just a tool to get you into a magical 'mood,' while you have to do the work yourself. Wands/athames/etc. aren't needed, but they can help set you in that 'mood' I just talked about.

Meh, most of that is not neccesary at all for magick. I'd say its good to be able to understand yourself first but it certainly defeats the purpose of magick if you never use it for yourself. From my own experience there is no three fold law, provided perhaps, that you implemen common sense (cleansing yourself after performing a negative spell). Alot of my magickal or psychic workings have been negative and I haven't really faced retributions. Not all of it was on purpose, some of it was completely by accident or not fully intended. For example, really hating someone and then something bad happens to someone or not really hating someone at all but having a day dream where they get hurt. Other times I did it purposefully for vengeance and justice.

I don't happen to know much about the rule of three or anything else, but anyone can find out a little information on the number three.

Three of a kind, three kings, three Shepard's, three witches, three judges, three laps, third time lucky, I'll count to three, three dimensions (length x width x high), beginning middle and the end, three wishes, three spirits (ghosts of Christmas past, present and future, the holy trinity, the farther son and the holy ghost, Norse mythology nine worlds are composed of three different levels, the threefold death, three double rolls in monopoly equals in jail, gold for first, silver for second and bronze for third and the Pythagoreans considered three the first true number. These are just a few examples that show mans interest in the number three and how he may have consciously or sub-consciously added importance to this number. Like the number thirteen, can be associated with unlucky things happening like Apollo thirteen, and Friday the thirteenth whereas it is probable that fear of this number is really the cause of these effects, If this be so then what of the number three?  
         
Thoughts are 2D and manifest in the 3D I think once we pass on we will have to deal with every thought that has ever been on our mind, whether these thoughts manifested or swam about within our own pool. Every bad or good thought will be examined, even thoughts that seemed at the time to be harmless could in some way start a chain of effects that we are unaware about and visa versa.

For example, I approach a rock band and have a conversation with them after a gig. I decide that they could make them and myself some cash. This would be purely selfish, however say I offer to manage them free of charge it would seem harmless. However lets say via me managing the band they become famous, egotistical, greedy and a few of them end up marrying women they are purely physically attracted to or marriages out of convenience. A few of them die taking drug overdoses and through all the good intentions a lot of people lead unhappy lives and to top it all off one of the bands songs is played to insight bloody revolution!

Now we could say that all that happened, happened out of the bands free will, however maybe if I hadn't spoke to them after the gig none of the above would have happened and they would have lived long happy lives. Thus all of this would be on my shoulders just as much as the band members.

Everything in the Universe is energy, a vibration. Magic is shaping and using that energy for an end result. That's all that magic is, in the simplest terms i know. But the nuances of this can be exceedingly complex. There are negative and positive uses for magic, and for every cause there is an effect. It is a tool, and tools can be used to heal or harm, dependent upon the intent of the wielder.
