Karma is not from Wicca.
"Traditional Witchcraft" - witchcraft is not a religion. Witchcraft is using the powers of the mind to influence/manipulate the environment around you.

Yeah, but Traditional Witchcraft is a different way of doing things...

The whole thing with Wicca has been confused by whatshisname Gardener, who established Wicca as more of a religion in the mid 1900s. The term Wicca actually is the original word to describe a witch (lit. wise-one), as in Old English, the term "witch" was pronounced witcha.

Traditional witchcraft, or wise-craft as it was known, stems mainly from what can be known as natural magic, and also from Hermetics (from where we get devices such as pentagrams).

Natural magic mainly relies on sympathetic magic, which makes use of objects that although they may contain useful chemical properties in themselves, are used in a "like attracts like" situation, where you are calling upon the powers of the elements and the spirits to help achieve the result. Example - feathers in a charm associate with the powers of air, salt associates with the powers of earth, etc.

Mind you, it is said that a true magician can perform magic naked in the desert. That is, when a true understanding of magic is established, you come to realise that each of us has the power within us. It is the relationship we have with the spirits, the deities, that helps us to learn how to unlock that power.

As to the Deities, that is I assume you're talking about the pagan gods, well, I can't NOT believe in them. I've already met a couple of them.

Kind regards,
James.

If your know the secret of the gods, then you know they are real.  It really is that simple, and it's not much of a secret.  Just think about worship...
There is a physical limitation upon how much light a human body can sustain. Interestingly, there is no limit on how much light a human vessel can generate. When fully enlightened you must instill your light in order to maintain its wisdom.

I wonder if gods can be destroyed. I mean, if it is true that gods are "just" complex, independent thought forms, it doesn't seem impossible to me.

Sure, they have insane amounts of energy/power, but - theoretically speaking - they should be able to "die", shouldn't they?

I don't do much, and I do it well.

This is not something you should come to realise as alot of experience. The ONLY thing that matters in a ritual or magickal working is the mind - thats what magick is. Props and objects are simply used by less experienced people who find that the process is easier to carry out with poppits. Of course, you don't have to use props and poppits - and if you are involved in a system which works with these and seems to neglect the true nature of magick - or only reaches this stage when you are "more experienced" - you are wasting your time, that would be hugely limiting and inhibiting yourself and your power, and you should place no limits on yourself.

James S

That's right.

That's why I used the word understanding, not experience.[;)]

Does any here believe that there is no such thing as deities? I don't... and I've done spells that have worked. I believe in "a singular all powerful force known as nature", as said in the website below that gives you information on Traditional Witchcraft which is NOT Wicca. I believe in pretty much everything on that website except for fate, I kind of believe in karma though which is something from Wicca. I also like craft names. Well, I was just wondering what everyone's opinion was on this.
