I have never heard RB give any sort of opinion on how he feels about magick, whether it be ceremonial magick or such things as Wicca/witchcraft. Does anyone know how he views the practice of magick in general? Does he have any theories about it and how it works?

He seems sort of Shamany to me, what with the owls and the bees and all of that. He doesn't post much except on his Q&A forum so you should refer that inquiry to there to get his opinion.

YEah, I would be interested in hearing his view on this, someone should post this question in the Question and answers section.

Robert Bruce actually uses magic, although he doesn't state it in those words.

Examples:

The mole removal techniques are a form of magic
The neg removal and protection techniques are a form of magic
Using the power of the subconscious mind is a form of magic
All forms of psychic abilities are using magic
And astral travel itself is a form of magic

People have different views on what magic is, and have different ways of using magic.  You don't have to cast circles, perform rituals, or use ceremonial or high magick, in order to use magic.  It's up to the individual what they want to call it and how they want to access it.

Disclaimer:  In my opinion ;)

If you look at the AstralPulse home page, you will also see clues there as to his views.  I'm only guessing, but I think he is trying to be as open and accessible to all people, no matter what their beliefs are, allowing people to fit what he says into their own belief system.  And maybe to look within for their own answers?

I'll have to lookup the references, but I believe I read that he is experienced in ceremonial magic.. Perhaps the Golden Dawn..  Now were did I read that?.....

RB wrote to me in email once he is a Hermetic mystique... you figure ,,,

Hermetic = magic

I agree with Seven on his description of magic. Everything that Robert Bruce advocates is a form of magic. He doesn't summon spirits into a pentagram and triangle, but that's another form of magic too.

I've even heard it expressed (and i like this) that anything that manipulates energy is a form of magic. Using your voice and words to influence the feelings and emotions of others is magic, and that is often a tragic human condition that we believe what others tell us about ourselves.
If but we knew the power of our thoughts we would guard them more closely.

This brings me to a question , What exactly is magick? , is it a force from within? ,or from other sources? , can someone please explain?

This is only my opinion, based on where I am in my learning journey at the present. That said, IMO, magic, or magick, is simply the manipulation of the energy sea all things swim in at all times. In other posts I've compared it to electricity, but I don't know if it's that, or maybe closer to an energy like gravity, or something else entirely.   :?:

In any event, that energy is very real and affects everything, animate, inanimate and all points between. "Magic" is simply our ability to manipulate that energy. If you just stand still at any given time, you can feel it.

I also believe anyone can learn magic, though it is not easy, and there will likely be different skill levels. Just like math and English, some folks have a better aptitude than others. I just hope I don't turn out to be one of the magical morons!

One thing I am pretty convinced of -- you have to have complete confidence that what you are doing will work before the results will be what you expect. Actually, it's more than confidence, maybe faith. It's just a mind-set where you never even think about it. You just say the spell, like getting out of bed in the morning -- you just expect the floor to be there!   :)

Hope this answered your question to some degree...
